More details about the shutdown. A few features in certain games will be disabled as well, including Youtube and tournament functionality in Mario Kart and Smash Bros, custom level sharing in Smash Bros and Mario vs Donkey Kong, and the BLADE report feature in Xenoblade Chronicles X.
Well, the good news is that we won't be seeing any more of those annoying memes or posts on Xenoblade X!
From what I understand, when the Global Nemesis popped up, someone posted an announcement to Miiverse. This makes farming reward tickets harder, and by extension end game augments harder.
"We're all paper, we're all scissors, we're all fightin' with our mirrors, scared we'll never find somebody to love."You could just check it manually.
Alright. My Wii U is back. I lost some save data for some of my games getting it fixed up, but I still have Twilight Princess Wii U, Tokyo Mirage Sessions ♯FE, and...there was one other one I think.
Anyway, I'll need to restart Hyrule Warriors, The Wonderful 101, Breath of Fire 2, Paper Mario, The Wind Waker, and Monster Hunter Tri Ultimate, but for some of them, that might be a good thing (101 and Tri would have require me to once again get a feel for playing them).
I also lost Arkham City Armoured Addition, but I haven't played that in years...though I never did Harley Quinns Revenge, so I guess you could say I didn't totally finish it. Maybe I'll take the time to replay that as well.
So yeah. Gotta take some time to take care of this stuff. I'll work with the games I still have first, and then get back to the other guys.

One Strip! One Strip!"Lost a game?"
If it was bought from the eshop, you can just redownload it for free. This includes add on content.
The only ones that fits that list are the Wonderful 101, and the the Virtual Console games I mentioned (Paper Mario, Super Mario 64 and Breath of Fire 2).
I've already re-downloaded 101, and I'll get the rest later.
Edit: Huh. Never mentioned I had Mario 64. Guess that's cause I didn't actually play it that much.

One Strip! One Strip!Oh, was that all the issue was for Xenoblade? I heard people talking about it like using Miiverse was required for certain postgame stuff.
As long as the lack of Miiverse doesn't impede the ability to get useful and vital crafting materials in XCX, it's loss will be more of a non-issue.
When you wish upon a side of beef, soon will come an end to all your griefOn the plus side, that means no more intrusive, stupid memes popping up.
On the negative side, that means whatever means of communications with your squad is gone. So you can no longer advertise when you're doing free ticket runs.
Does anyone know if Nintendo still repairs Wii U's?
I don't see why they wouldn't.
I'm wondering because it's an old system so they might not have the parts needed to anymore plus it's a failed system.
It was only discontinued a year or two ago, but also just because it failed to meet expectations doesn't mean they wouldn't do fixes for it anymore. That kind of thing takes a lot longer.
For reference, they were repairing GB As until just a few years ago.
I got mine fixed free of charge not too long ago when an update mistakenly bricked it.
So yeah, still fixing Wii U’s.
One Strip! One Strip!Anyone notice their U's battery give out yet?
I've been noticing that with mine, sometimes it seems to lose battery life quickly and other times it doesn't. The light will go from off to red and stay red for several minutes, other times for a few minutes, and other times it'll go straight from off to blinking red. It's not a big deal but a bit odd.
I tend to keep my plugged pretty regularly, so even if it's a thing, it's not really an issue with me.
One Strip! One Strip!the thing is, it discharge when you're not using it because it constantly check if their's a new update or a notification, so if you let the gamepad off while fully charge, it'll likely be discharged a few days after that, or even sooner.
"when you stare too long into the abyss, Xehanort takes advantage of the distraction to break into your house and steal all your shit."Anyone else have trouble with the U's headphone jack? Admittedly, I buy $5-$10 headphones, but they still break way too easily. I thought it was me being clumsy but I think it's just the position on the console. Being on top means the headphone wires bend.
Does it mean anything special when the U's LED light is orange? When my U overheats or when it's off, I swear it used to turn red. Now it's orange. Am I remembering wrong? Is this an issue? I looked online and I only find about flashing orange lights meaning that something is downloading. Nothing downloaded and it doesn't flash.
On game related issues, I'm surprised so many stores stopped selling U games so quickly. All I can find in many places are shovelware and licensed games.
Edit: Maybe it's my eyes or memory. Other red LED lights seem a bit different too.

I actually picked up the directors cut of human revolution haven't played it though
You're going to pay a price for every bloody thing you do and everything you don't do. You don't get to choose to not pay a price.I heard the port wasn't worth the initial price, but it seems like a fun game nevertheless.
Crap.
So I've been replaying Breath of Fire 2 on my Wii U, but suddenly the gamepad is neither charging nor turning on.
It's plugged in (I always plug it in) and I was playing it just earlier today, but it won't turn on now at all for some reason.
What the hell is going on?
Edit: So I was wrong about one part: the gamepad is charging. It's orange, but it won't turn on. I do now know that it's just the gamepad though. When I tried turning on the system itself, that did come on (blue light, and the TV showed the Miiverse plaza). It's just the gamepad that won't activate at all, even though the battery light is orange.
So it seems like it either is charging and is doing it very slowly, or that light is messed up and it's not charging at all.

One Strip! One Strip!
Mario Maker is getting patched to not use Miiverse. Smash is losing all Miiverse functionality though.
