Hi, Dave the reflection in the window.
...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.Hello. May I speak into you?
I am sorry, I'm still just not feeling Dana's performance. When she's just deadpan snarker that works, but when she pulls off a joke, there's something ... missing. I don't know. On the other hand, it may be that I've just decided there's "something wrong" with her performance and as thus am visualizing that wrong-thing, so I'd definitely suggest getting a second opinion.
Also, is it just me, or was Zack voiced by a different person this time around? Something sounded different, but maybe it's just my faulty memory. Go fig.
Zack is still voiced by Zack. There's a lot of echo in the corridor we filmed in this week, so that could be part of it.
I personally think Dana's a better actor than I am, and I've felt that way for a while. But whatevs. *shrug*
Echo in the c(orridor)? Hehe.
As for the characters;
I personally find Dana's snarky prickness to be enjoyable, but I'm a bit biased. Snarky assholes are just my favorite character type. I wonder why?
Tom's feels like an awkward, foolish guy with Jerkass tendencies. If that's what your going for, I think you've pulled it off well.
As for Zack... Zack is kind of... out there, but I think everyone could figure that out, so I'll leave it at that.

Even Zack did not know why he was there. The truth is, Tom loves him and brings him everywhere so he can bask in the radiant magnificence of his company.*
Forever liveblogging the AvengersDave, are you going to be in a future episode? Like actually talking and stuff in front of the camera?
Dave's character will be explored. Promise. I probably shouldn't say more than that.
Right! Because that would spoil stuff!
Got it! :D
I still can't believe I'm talking to semi-famous internet peopl! 8D
Oh, they're not that famous. Not yet.
But maybe that means that you're meeting semi-famous people who will become stars in the future. You'll know them before they're famous!
EDIT: Just watch video. Porn Girl returns!
Time to troperify the page.
And by the way. Is it me, or Tom has a little stubble under his face? Maybe because I used HD?

I think the Tom-Dana dynamic is the best part of the show. You guys play off each other very well. And I'd like an episode where Zack is in front of the camera. Maybe Throw the Dog a Bone?

"War doesn't prove who's right, only who's left." "Every saint has a past, every sinner has a future."You can always write it... https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/posts.php?discussion=13080030120A02080100
Latest ep: On the date, tweed jacket, bowtie, Shout-Out to the Eleventh Doctor? Asking before it goes in the trope page.
Are you asking me specifically if it is intended as a shout-out, or are you asking Tropers in general if this counts as that trope?
It's not a deliberate shout-out, I don't watch Doctor Who. Zack is a fan, and our producer Yulin loves it, but neither of them picked my jacket.
I'm gonna be honest. I only bought that sports coat because I found it to be profoundly ugly. It's the color of cat vomit, and the patterning didn't help. I was actually stunned when it didn't look all that bad on camera.
I do genuinely like bowties, though.
The script called for the ugliest sweatervest in existence. The jacket is what Tom already owned, so we rolled with it. Any resemblance to characters fictional or otherwise is entirely coincidental
I learn about how stories work for the same reason that soldiers learn how to strip a rifle.I think Tom's acting is better for "zingers," and Dana better for level conversation. For instance, rewatching the most recent episode, Tom's dialogue pertaining to just talking about the trope seems rather stilted (in previous episodes, I assumed that was intentional-he's portrayed as a fairly lame video blogger, right?) and Dana seems more believable. But then Dana says, and I quote, "Crazy Fuck Mc Stalkerson" and it just seemed like that line should have been delivered more somehow. When Tom gets a line, "I tolerate it because... I mean have you seen her boobs, Dana?" I really feel that-that sort of overemphasis that makes me feel like "Yeah, this is a show-and I like it." It's sitcom energy-the type of thing you don't see in real life, but that's okay, because sitcoms aren't about being like real life, they're about impact.
So, if I were to make a recommendation, playing to one's strengths (reinforce success), I'd have to say, Dana needs less zingers, and Tom needs to have more, but play up the stilted element of dialogue.
Incidentally, introduce a "rival" character or something-there's just so many tropes that require a substantial rival. Preferably someone that's an Arrogant Kung-Fu Guy, who's well aware of the fact. "That's so unrealistic" you say? Nonsense! I exist in reality! Now finding someone to act that way voluntarily...
Re: a rival... meet me over in the spec script thread. There's something we should discuss...
The what? Spec Script?
You just mean the Trope of the Week Scripts thread? What's Spec stand for?

Speculative. There's no promise that they'll use it.
...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.Ah, gotcha.
I did recently send in a script for Face Palm. Either it's pure comedy gold, or about 90 seconds of utter tripe. There is no medium. There can be no grey.
Wait, if Alyssa Porn Girl showed up in this episode, does that mean that Crying Girl and Possible Serial Killer will show up in future episodes, too?
Theoretically, although the actress who played the distraught girl moved away. So, knife guy, yeah.
But I like Crying Girl...Porn Girl was good but Crying Girl had more potential for tropes.
She'll be a One-Scene Wonder forever...
Could always The Other Darrin her. Though, that kind of weird surreality may not belong in Echo Chamber.
