To restore, perchance to rename: Perverse Sexual Lust

Some admin probably got overzealous trying to purge all the sundry Troper Tales pages for Perverse Sexual Lust (which I agree were a bad thing, and were already being cut one by one) and managed to wipe the main article as well. I could restore the main page, but this might be a conscious admin decision; on the other hand, there doesn't seem to have been any discussion about this.

I think the trope page needs to exist, though someone has already suggested that having a different name would make it better. (The comment from four days ago that just talking about it was "likely going to get the page deleted" seems to have proven ironically accurate.)

Another vote to restore it, although I'm not sure whether it should be renamed or not. We have plenty of in-universe examples, and all the creepy Real Life ones got thrown at Troper Tales.

I have no idea what happened to this trope, but it needs to be restored. I understand we're trying to clear up the natter, but to remove the entertaining pages like this one is... a bit of an overkill.

It really is one of the most hilarious and entertaining pages on the site. I suggest that we keep it. I would miss it a lot if it were completely eliminated. The Troper Tales would still be separate.

Restored the page with a note warning against adding Real Life examples. The Troper Tales page, though already wiped, has not been locked yet.

I loved the Troper Tales page; it was hilarious, and added a lot of... for lack of better term, character.

This really shouldn't have gotten cut, imo. I wouldn't want the troper tales part back, but last I checked, the main trope page had a bunch of legitimate in-fiction examples. A rename probably would help though. I've always thought the name sounded a bit too general for what the trope actually is.

I actually agree regarding the rename. A page named Perverse Sexual Lust sounds, to me, Exactly What It Says on the Tin: a page about "perverse" forms of sexual lust. Lusting after a fiction character would not be the first kind to come to mind.

However, that option is doing very badly in the crowner, so oh well.

I loved the Troper Tales and those who find it offensive just shouldn't read it.. The actual trope should never have been cut although I agree that Real Life examples don't belong. That's what the Tales pages are for.

I agree that the Troper Tales should be restored. I find the Fetish Fuel wiki to be incredibly awkward to navigate properly, and I'm sure others do too. If there isn't an easy page to drop examples on, many people will put them where they don't belong. Don't like, don't read. Simple as that.

As I've said before, the don't like don't read argument people love using here has no effect on the fact that the stuff in question still exists, and thus leaves the implication that the site's entire userbase is viewed as creepy by anyone who clicks the tab.

Aside from creepiness being in the eye of the beholder, maybe establish them on the new Fetish Fuel Wiki?

I'll say once again, I really think we need a page for people to put personal examples or they'll be all over the wiki. And as for other people coming in and thinking the entire wiki is like that, it's obviously not, but can't we put it behind a curtain or something?

As people keep saying, you can get down with your pervy self over on the Fetish Fuel Wiki. We're nice, promise.

The Troper Tales page seemed pretty harmless to me. It was just a bunch of people talking about how much they'd like to date Jasmine or Ariel. It was actually quite amusing.

Perverse Sexual Lust is a preexisting term for a fan phenomenon—one that is often mentioned in works and that fanservice and other Rule of Sexy tropes are inherently based upon. We need this page, and about the only thing we could do about the title is go back to the abbreviation.

I do agree that any Troper Tales should go offsite, of course.

I don't understand the people who are so set on removing/keeping this page gone. It was fun. But my only issue is with the editing on the FF Wiki. Seriously, wtf? I'm confused.

Vote to restore. And the name? Anything else would ring way too closely to Fetish Fuel, which would lead to edit wars, and the wiki alone is already packed.

Okay, so... I made a thread today since I didn't know the details of WHY the Troper Tales pages are going. This site needs money, and Google Ad Sense provides, right? And since Google doesn't like "profane material", that's why the stuff is gone... well, at least there's a reason for it that I can understand. Doesn't mean I like it, though...

If we can, I'd like to see the Troper Tales pages restored, or at least put on the Fetish Fuel Wiki. *le sigh*
