Character Development Thread--Discussion

If I knew, I'd be doing something about it.

I think, for now, the Casual threads are just burned out.

I'm... dying to start Dig Site.

Truth be told, I didn't really see the Shared Story thread going much further; not a lot has been happening, so I just pulled Bianca and her parents out.

I wouldn't mind if we started Dig Site a little earlier, to be honest, so long as everyone's ready, of course.

That abandonist attitude is what leaves these threads to go nowhere. I don't see many people making a push for the thread to go somewhere, and then they leave because the thread isn't going anywhere.

For once, I had a plan for that thread, but a mixture of poor writing on my part and some other stuff- well, it probably was primarily my fault for not doing it in the first place -stopped that from happening. I'll be happy to go talk about it over there if the thread has died down enough.

I discovered a new game and it consumed my time, like always.

Four days.. >_<

The only thing that really bothers me about the Dig Site OP right now is that to me, it looks like the O Ps characters have organized the digsite and they're only looking for workers, which can kind of lock out any potential antagonists who rather not get their hands dirty digging of all things.

Or maybe I'm just not thinking creatively enough. Any suggestions on how antagonists could join the fray in the beginning? *shrug*

It depends on what exactly you want your antagonists to accomplish. Digging isn't the only activity done at a dig site. Maybe they could send undercover grunts in their stead, or come in person and act as an interested member of the public?

I'm not the only one who left. Yomegami did a few days ago, and his character was the only one my plan would directly involve.

The Shared Story Threads and CDTs are technically separate entities, so I thought it should wait until the Campfire has wound down.

What do you mean I couldn't wait? You mean wait for Dig Site to really kick in before throwing in some bad guys to spice things up? I can do that if you want...

If you mean my above post...I just like mulling ideas over for a period of time before I do them to see if I like them or not or if they have holes in reasoning. I'm dumb enough to plan for an entire thread where we don't have any clue as to what's going to happen—I'm just thinking about what my OP post will contain and what's the purpose of going to this Dig Site in the first place.

He might have been referring to doubleposting in Cruise, but I could be wrong.

To be honest, it's preferable for me that Dig Site start on Friday. I'm getting my new computer that day and typing a introduction for my character is a complete pain on my phone (Not to mention it is way passed the time to replace it). I don't want to hinder anyone else by saying this, but it would be preferable to start Dig Site on Friday.

This is what I was referring to, yeah. Matues showed life almost fifteen minutes before Pillowstar doubleposted. In other words, the doubleposting was completely unnecessary and annoyed the hell out of me.

You do what you want for Dig Site; like I said earlier I'm staying out of that thread.

hmm...I think there's some confusion in Cruise. I started a conversation with Kazuko but Neko LLX's comment is making it seem like she was talking to me even before my comment so...what do I do?

Edit: Also, she referred to Jacob as Joseph.

Wasn't Joseph a separate character?

The only Joseph I've seen in the CDTs was Ryuhza's in University.

Gotta ask, what were Talitha's thoughts on Jane's desire for world peace? Although if you plan on bringing them up, you don't have to say.

Just the whole "insult" comment intrigued me.

Interesting, will probably try to bring it up. Could make for some good dialogue and it's not really something I've put much thought into.

I doubleposted because Cruise wasn't posted in for days—I'm not psychic here, and I didn't know that someone else was going to post right after I posted, and there's nothing I can do about it now.

I also thought I should stop saying what my character were doing here and start actually posting in Cruise.

Well, you could have checked in here first before jumping the gun.

Plus, I'm pretty sure that doubleposting is heavily frowned upon as a general forum rule and especially here (and if the thread was truly dead, it wouldn't have worked anyway), but even if I'm wrong it's still pretty irritating.

For the sake of not causing an argument, though, I'm just going to drop the subject here (because extended arguments annoy me more than double-posting does). At least the second post didn't cause mass confusion or anything.

There was a considerable amount of time between that post and Matues's, so I'm not sure if that really counts. Regardless, the point about it not working still stands, and this is the last post I'm making about the subject for real this time.

I did check in here, Yomegami. And I'm sorry if I was a little brash now, okay? I don't like doubleposting either.
