In that case, I'm clearly misreading all these notes and ideas, because they suggest something very dark indeed. Echo knows fine well she's a Well-Intentioned Extremist and is horribly depressed by it, the admins are a bunch of psychos (including Voynich of course), and DATA EXPUNGED.
Dune: Who is Orllof based on?

Tastes better on the way back down.I don't deny that they're dark to a level. I just want to avoid them being darker than certain others, including Plasma.
(Also, I did warn you to be cautious about DATA EXPUNGED, and suggested not doing it until much later if you do it in the end.)
Also, hint: Orllof's name is an anagram. :P
Yeah, Illusion isn't meant to be that bad for the most part.
...And wait, which Frollo? ._.
Contact Me!Umbra: Yeah, pretty much. I'm fine with moments of darkness - what I don't want is for dark moments to define the arc, as they did with Orre.
And Illusion don't look too bad from where I'm sitting. For my part, I don't plan on Shard being psychotic or really anything more than just kind of creepy.
EDIT: I've mentioned it in the chat before, but the guy Orllof reminds me of the most is Caesar from Fallout New Vegas. Only, you know, without the whole "genocidal conquering bastard" thing.

Trans rights are human rights. JK Rowling preaches hate. If you sit at a table with five bigots and say nothing, there are now six bigots.Herbert: Got it. I am definitely not planning on that.
Contact Me!I'm okay with Illusion being less dark than I expected. It helps with my Intended Audience Reaction to Voynich; namely, her ability to perturb an organisation of cynical Humans Are Bastards-ists.
As for DATA EXPUNGED, I'm not talking about the thing itself, which will probably happen near the end of the arc. I'm referring more to what it implies about large swathes of the Project's members. (also, these discussions must be really frustrating for anyone not called Eskay or Uilleam )
Tastes better on the way back down.Dark implications are somewhat better than explicit darkness, but I will still recommend being careful.
I just want Kalos to be silly funtimes, but even silly funtimes need to have subdued moments.
I'm having to learn to pay the priceHey, I'm joining in with the silly funtimes too - just look at my intro posts for Crowley and his Pokémon and you'll see what I mean. They're basically held together by the twin forces of Surreal Humor and Seinfeldian dry wit.
Though even they can be serious when required.
Tastes better on the way back down.Orllof's based on Disney's Frollo from the Hunchback Of Notre Dame. Only without the "burning at the steak" thing. Definitely without that.
Fixed Profile pageMy plans will mostly be silly funtimes. And the ones that aren't will be looking brighter in a relatively short amount of time.
Dune: KNEW IT! Now he needs to sing "Hellfire."

Contact Me!i should get a noctowl
and name it kg
And then there was silenceThank god, burned steak tastes terrible.
Presumably, he also abstains from burning people at the stake. :P
Victory! Honor! Destiny! Mutton!...so if Orllof sang Hellfire, who would fill in for Esmerelda?

Tastes better on the way back down.Right. Sorry about the "beating things to death", Herbie.
And anyway, Alys is like Voynich, except rather than making everyone perturbed due to craziness, she's just...creepy. Really creepy.
...see what I meant when I said the Illusion Project was a magnet for creeps?
Tastes better on the way back down.It also has Odin. So I see what you mean. :P
Contact Me!But that's the thing: I have had all sorts of creepy ideas, about 85-90% of which are probably too creepy. So I ought to watch myself.
Dogs
My life story, right there.
Light vs. Dark
I agree with Pippi that Kalos should be happier, sort of zany funtimes. In fact, I wouldn't mind if it wandered into the Realm of DIABEETUS now and again. Honestly, I like a little bit of that from time to time.

The lights come on, and the room is decorated with PICKLES.I'm agreeing with Least here. I wouldn't mind Kalos being light and happy in the slightest. Of what I hear, the Illusion Project's part in Kalos is just establishing that they exist, so there will probably be future arcs where they won't distract.
Dogs, Least: The problem is I'm worried people like you will comlpain about anything that ISN'T light and happy. And I can assure you not all my plans are.
Contact Me!Light v. Dark
At this point Kalos is going to be mostly light and happy, but of couse a streak or two of shade isn't that bad. However...
Plans!
I'm very... uneasy about people having more individual plans/plots in Kalos, because of what it did to Orre. Orre wasn't a very... cohesive, for lack of a better term, arc, because so many people had plots going on mostly with themselves or like one other person, that simply got other people involved a few times so it wasn't fanficing, but it locked out some people from doing stuff. I'd rather we back off of that and focus more on whole team plots/plans rather than more individual ones. Which we might not have a lot of, but still I feel like it's better to bring this up than leave it unsaid.
"If there is no way to win, I will simply force a way."...Are you asking me to give up on my plans? Some of which have been in the works for months?
Contact Me!Umbra: Don't worry about me. I really surprised myself with how I handled Orre.
And I'll save Alys' really creepy parts for post-Kalos.
Eskay
Don't worry. Orllof is going to be far less nasty than who he's based on.
