The prices of college tuition in Europe drove me to move.
Still, I do plan to go back. The salaries in Europe doe not encourage me to stay at all.
You exist because we allow it and you will end because we demand it.Take over by the Religious Right.
Running is for cowards.
Seconded. I need something to rail against and I can rarely get passionate about it if doesn't affect me.
"It is better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to open one’s mouth and remove all doubt." - Some guy with a snazzy hat.Sometimes cowards ''do'' survive.
I'm a skeptical squirrelIt's still smarter than patriotism
You exist because we allow it and you will end because we demand it.I'd like to move to Denmark, I hear it's the happiest country.

"Had Mother Nature been a real parent, she would have been in jail for child abuse and murder." -Nick BostromAustralia for me. *drowns in flood*
I'm a skeptical squirrelI wouldn't flee. If things got truly bad, I'd rebel and fight.
In my mind, 'tis better to fight and die than run and live a coward.
Besides, I go down fighting I'll go to Valhalla or Sessrumnir.
Seconding "Religious right take over"
I'm more concerned about getting out of here if things look like they're going to collapse. What with the way the rich have all the money and the middle class has barely anything. Somethins got to give.
My other signature is a Gundam.Probably Germany, it's such a cool country. Maybe Japan.
Fight smart, not fair.Either extremes of left or right taking over to the point where any true semblance of freedom is a footnote. A total dissolution of the U.S. Government would be another good reason to get up and leave as what would likely follow would be horrible and bloody. Large sections of the U.S. becoming uninhabitable for any reason. Or lastly doing something to become an enemy of the state. My best bet is to get out of their home turf and work from there.
If I can, I will fight tooth and nail. If that is not an option then I will hide and flee. I will come back later to take action if I could. If not time for a new home.
Who watches the watchmen?Lol
Anyway I don't live in the states but I hear a lot of waffle on this site about the "Religious right taking over America''. It doesn't seems like any thing worth fretting over myself.

hashtagsarestupidSuccessfully concluding after research that there was a better place for me to live, and significantly better in such a way that justified the effort and expense of moving.
That's it, really. Boring, I know.
Look, you can't make me speak in a logical, coherent, intelligent bananna.I figure with all the oppression people who AREN'T white males have had to endure through the ages, I owe it to 'em to stick with the country for the long haul, come bitter or sweet. Even if Europe and Japan look really, really tempting a lot of the time. If it gets too extreme? I'll get out there and protest like a mofo; jail isn't nearly as bad as running away from your own sense of morality.
Furthermore, I think Guantanamo must be destroyed. If individual gun ownership was outlawed, the religious right takes over, or the entire economy, followed by the government, collapses.
But if those things happened, I wouldn't run. I'd connect up with my Guard unit and try to carve out a little city state on the West Coast. Come to think of it, we aren't that far from where the NCR started in Fallout. ;)
But yeah, for once I have to agree with Tom here, running is for cowards. I'm not overly patriotic, and part of me hopes this whole country goes to absolute shit and falls down around itself so it can be rebuilt better than it was prior. I acknowledge the initial terror and casualties that would arise from this, but I guess part of it is a selfish feeling because of the fact that I'd be in a pretty lofty position if that shit did happen.

Ring me up Barkley, I'll join your ragtag bunch of misfits.
I'm a skeptical squirrelIf the religious right take over, I'm moving to Australia. I actually have looked into joining up with the Australian Navy - they are eager to take American Navy personnel who have experience working on F-18s.
That’s the epitome of privilege right there, not considering armed nazis a threat to your life. - SilaswYeah Barkey, worst comes to worst and you do form a city state, I'll apply to join it and serve. You have my proverbial axe.
Pretty sure this◊ will be Barkey and co., riding around the desert, waging war against the Chinese/Russians/Liberals.
Something would have to render the landscape completely uninhabitable by humans for me to leave.
Well, that covers New Jersey. 1 down, 49 to go.
I've been polling people by asking them what issue would drive them to emigrate from the U.S. The answers have been satisfyingly revealing (and loud).
So, what would specifically have to happen to make you say, "That's it. Done." and leave? Guns? Taxes? Avian flu? No answer is too reactionary or too petty.
