I think it's quite a bit simpler than that. It's just going to moralize about the value of hard work as opposed to money speculation or get-rich-quick schemes.
x6: I just don't think they were drawn all that well, that's all.
My Megaman and MegaTen liveblogs& Or both. It is not like one precludes the other. We will just have to watch and see.

Yu hav nat sein bod speeling unntil know. (cacke four undersandig tis)the cake is a lie!Speaking of, I like the Laconic.
Thank'ee kindly, sir.
What's precedent ever done for us?Let's just say that YMMV and agree to disagree on how good/bad the character designs are. Though you do seem to be ignoring the other students and the Antagonist or Big Bad (Not sure if that title applies to the guy in a suit yet). I can't remember anything weird about their designs.
Welcom'
Yu hav nat sein bod speeling unntil know. (cacke four undersandig tis)the cake is a lie!So...a Mad Hatter comes into his house and offers him the chance to make money.
Interesting...but still too soon to say whether it's going to be good or not.
The only guys I can see being the Big Bad are Mikuni (Which would give me a Star Driver vibe) and Masakaki, though Masakaki seems to be The Dragon.
And yes, the Laconic is hilarious.

So Msyu is a Tsundere. Given that she's the personification of Kimimaro's future, I don't think she's a viable Love Interest, though
Well. Now we understand a little of what is going on. Hope the terminology becomes clearer as the show goes on. Also, that is quite the return on a single investment.
If there is anyone who still has not decided whether or not to watch this show, I recommend waiting till it is over and watching it all at once. Probably will make more sense that way.
Yu hav nat sein bod speeling unntil know. (cacke four undersandig tis)the cake is a lie!Just saw 2nd episode.
Thoughts:
- lots of Gratuitous English
- really good/obvious example of an Evil Counterpart there (possibly Red Oni, Blue Oni too)
- not sure I totally like the tsundere thing, but it's sort of original to have a tsundere Artifact of Doom

HodorMikuni is certainly a good example of a counterpart, but I don't see much evil there
Well too early to tell I guess. In the first episode I had it figured he was Satan, now that it's clear he's another competitor, maybe he's not totally a villain. Certainly morally ambiguous though. Reminds me a lot of the Count in Gankutsuou.
Oh, another thought, that Willy Wonka guy seems a good contender for Memetic Molester.
HodorI like the way tension is being built. The only thing I hate about it is the way they've been using CG to animate characters, it may give an otherworld feeling to them, but it still feels uncomfortable.
I was thinking the same thing RE: The Count! It's something in the looks and the hair I think.
"No, the Singularity will not happen. Computation is hard." -Happy EntDidn't like it as much as the first episode, probably because the fight scene took too much time.
Y'know, it's nice to see an anime protag reacting somewhat realistically to such outrageous and life-threatening circumstances (namely screaming his head off in fear).
I'll turn your neocortex into a flowerpot!Usually I get kind of annoyed at tsunderes, but for some reason I'm okay with Msyu.
I wish there was a little bit less fight scene and a little bit more explanation, but the story looks like it will at least live up to noitaminA standards
Tumblr here.I don't know, the fight scene itself was informative. We know of two different kinds of attacks and the size/quality of the attack depends on how much money you are willing to bet on it hitting.
Ah, that is why they were able to pull out a 10 Mil attack. I was wondering how that was being "paid" for, but now I realize that it must have been the money they "won" by not receiving damage from previous attacks.
We also got a look at some of the inner-Financial Sector dynamics, begin to find out who the other main characters are, and the black bills. Not bad for a single episode.
Yu hav nat sein bod speeling unntil know. (cacke four undersandig tis)the cake is a lie!Actually, I think it was a Death or Glory Attack, using our boy's remaining funds in a gamble that, if it worked (as it did), would save their hides by massively boosting their cash.
What's precedent ever done for us?Well, yeah, but I was addressing where the money for that gamble came from. I doubt that you can make "transactions" unless you have the money to begin with. I don't have time to check right now, but I bet the attacks that missed/were blocked had values totaling just over 10 mill.
Yu hav nat sein bod speeling unntil know. (cacke four undersandig tis)the cake is a lie!The Conspicuous CG is kinda getting to me. It's annoying when they use it for characters.
I've got new mythological machinery, and very handsome supernatural scenery. Goodfae: a mafia web serialCredit.
"No, the Singularity will not happen. Computation is hard." -Happy EntFrom where? The 500,000 was an investment, not a Credit, and there was no one who even could have given him the money. The only place I can think of that he could get "credit" from is his future possibility. But that is personified in his Asset and is what determines her skills, not part of his own funds.
I believe that this is a variation on the Single Life Bar * : The total amount of money both the participants have is put into a single "bar", each skill used ether makes you lose control of an amount of money (if it causes no damage) or gives you control of some of the opponent's money (if it hits), and the battle ends when one of the participants runs or loses control of all the money they brought.
Put into context, that last 5mil metal ball attack plus the 10mil scorched earth is where 15mil of his 33mil came from.

Yu hav nat sein bod speeling unntil know. (cacke four undersandig tis)the cake is a lie! Were they using CG to animate Masakaki in the first ep? Cuz it sure didn't look like it...
Also, maybe it's just the particular subs I was watching, but the translator threw in a TV Tropes reference into their translation of the ED, with "You don't even need a Xanatos Gambit..." being one of the lines. Don't believe me? See here at about 10:49.
I'll turn your neocortex into a flowerpot!
Well, okay, I'll spell it out: it looks to me like this series is a (probably not all too serious) metaphorical attack on the financial institutions behind the current financial crisis. I may be imagining it, of course, but come on...
