In a way, there are.

The headline is up. Let's run it through Friday before making the change.

Glad I mentioned it. I approve of the rename, and I hope no one goes on a rampage because of it.

I don't object to the rename per se, but does it have to sound like a bad case of headlice? Would have been nice if it had been in the headline box earlier when it was first proposed though.

Good riddance. We'll have to come up with a new icon, though, won't we?

Also, can we keep the just bugs me on the forum? I like the icon if nothing else.

Just chiming in again to reinforce that I am extremely undispleased by this change.

Edit because I can't get my Confusing Multiple Negatives right.

I agree that we don't really need the "just bugs me" thing. "Headscratchers" though...I don't have anything against it per se, it just feels weird. Invokes the image of a person scratching their head because it's itchy. Or because they're an idiot. Odd...feeling associated with that.

But hey, it works. (Yes, I know this comment has left nothing conclusive.)

Would have opted for a less licesuggesting name like Brainscratchers, but yeah, agree so far. Would add it to the crowner but seeing the ahead advantage the current proposal has, can't say I would. And it not a bad proposal anyway.

Happy to see the thing gets renamed by the way.

What will the syntax for invoking the icon be from now on? [scratch]?

[up]I'll add it because there's no harm in another option.

I also kinda like little better than Headscratchers.

I like it, probably would invite less complaints or at least invite different entries.

^^ Probably something more like when Subjectives/ was changed to YMMV/, since we're not actually moving them to existing namespaces.

Hmmm...is there no Fridge Logic namespace? Before coming up with a strange name that we have to teach the userbase to use, I'd probably just anoint Fridge Logic to take over for Just Bugs Me.

I can understand the need, just not terribly excited about the new name.

I think that Headscratchers and Fridge Logic are two sides of the same coin. A Headsratcher is a question or problem and Fridge Logic is the answer or solution.

Well, part of the reason of the Just Bugs Me namespace is to actually get the answers to Fridge Logic. So encouraging people to post it over there would generate useful discussion (and also hopefully cut down on fighting on the main page if people come to consensus over there).

Uh, sorry if this was already answered, but will "It Just Bugs Me" become a redirect to Headstratchers?

"I don't like "Headscratchers" very much. "Wait a minute" seems better as it establishes the fridge-logic thing more. After all, when Fridge Logic hits, many of us go "Wait a minute...""

Who added this to the crowner?

More specifically, why didn't they just edit Wait A Minute in the crowner?

^ I was the one who came up with Wait A Minute, but I don't really understand your question about editing the crowner. It's been on the crowner the whole time.

"It may even be a good idea to put up a headline and let it run a few days before making the change. "

Indeed, opposed to any site wide policy change that the discussion isn't brought up in the news section (that goes to any site.)

I'm not really sure we need to change it. Has JBM ever met noticble misuse? How would a rename change it?

The one complaint I can think of about "headscratchers" if it must be changed is the length, which I doubt think suits a subpage. Making HS/whatever would be better than HeadScratchers/Whatever
