Do teen boys fist bump? I can't recall if my fellow classmates do that, or if it's a thing in other places.
Yes, though it depends on the area. In my area we did fist bump and I still see people doing it but daps are used if it's someone you're close to.
Rarely active, try DA/Tumblr Avatar by pippanaffie.deviantart.comRandom nitpicking here, sorry. Sometimes, I get anal-retentive go in-depth enough in my work to make sure the etymology of a word I make up seems correct. For example, in a world with nonhuman sapient species, "misanthropy" was too racist when referring to disdain of sapient species in general, so I came up with "misosofism": misos, "hatred", and sofίa, "knowledge, wisdom, sapience". Because of this, I feel like "humanocentrism" should be "anthropocentrism".
YES I CAN BE A MASSIVE NITPICKER AT TIMES.

I just used it because I saw it being used earlier today.
Counter-nitpick: I'm pretty sure anthropocentrism is correct, but 'misosophy' is already taken. Also, personally the idea of identifying intelligent life as inherently wise has always rubbed me the wrong way. <_<

The Revolution Will Not Be TropeableDangit. I might have to find something else. Misosophontism?
And believe me, I know sapients can be idiots. I chose sofίa because it basically means the same thing as the root of sapience, the Latin sapientia. However, I didn't use that word because I don't want to jam two different languages together in a word and I couldn't get anything from sapientia that sounded right to me.
No, no, I understand your logic, I just think whoever decided 'sapients' was the right word for intelligent life missed the point of declaring humanity to be H. sapiens sapiens. :P
Umm. Wiktionary lists 'atomo' as having the meaning of person or individual (as well as the more usual 'atom') without the implication of humanity that anthropos does.
'manthanein' is 'to learn', and is the etymological root of mathematics and polymathy; it's also related to 'menthere' (to care).
...it took me longer than I care to admit to re-discover that the Greek word for 'self' is auton/autos. I did, however, happily discover along the way that menos is 'mind' (and a number of other traits of personalities), which comes from a Proto-Indo-European root which re-entered Ancient Greek by way of automatos - self-willed or self-bidden.
So... misatomism? misamathism, misamanthism, misamenthism, misamenism? misautonism? misomatony?

The Revolution Will Not Be TropeableI use IRC more often then Twitter too, but that doesn't happen to me. Although, when we use hashtags in IRC they turn to channels. Inevitably, people click on them. This lead to me owning #0. It's just like drug boats!
And, in fact, I'm using IRC rather than writing.
Aaah.

Gave them our reactions, our explosions, all that was ours For graphs of passion and charts of stars...Most magical girl shows have their main character in their name, and since my work is heavily inspired by that genre, I think I'll go that route, too.
My work's heroes are human versions of the Zodiac, so here are some names I'm considering:
- Ariel of the Zodiac
- The First Sign is Ariel
- Ariel, The First Sign
Back from registration. |D
Oh god...I've still been slacking. DX
Registration for what, if you don't mind me asking?
"Jack, you have debauched my sloth."
School, since it starts next Monday. Juniors and Seniors had to go early in the morning.
I am so glad I can just register for all my classes online.
I am markedly less glad that I have combinatorics at 8AM next semester, but hey.

Not nearly a good enough singer for the Choir Invisible, and the Basement Room With A Synth Invisible is much less prestigious.I'm a senior. I start school on Tuesday the 28th; the freshmen have to start the day before because they're freshmen. Everyone has to get course registration done in, like, February and just this year, we started doing it online. I remember it wouldn't let me pick AP Computer Science, for which one of the prerequisites is the absolute lowest level of math course in the school. I took precalculus, which, I believe, is the second-highest level of math in the school. As of the printing of our tentative schedules in very early June, they still hadn't fixed it.

"Jack, you have debauched my sloth."My school starts on the 14th or so, but school ends before Memorial weekend.
Ouch. That must've sucked. D:
LUCKY. I start on the 6th. DX

Last year, the seniors graduated the Friday before Memorial Day weekend, while the underclassmen spent the following week taking exams. Many of the senior bandos came back for the Memorial Day parade, however, even though it's one of the most grueling parts of band.
Thing is, scheduling was perfectly smooth before they changed everything in my sophomore year. I still remember the first days of my sophomore year, when half the school was gathered in the guidance counseling office's hallway with scheduling conflicts. I had an entire open slot in my schedule that I spent loitering in an air-conditioned hallway while they fixed that problem.

"Jack, you have debauched my sloth."I heard that the seniors at the high school graduate a full two or three weeks before everyone else, but I need to look into it.
Now, I need to finish eating lunch.
My mom's fiftieth birthday is today. Hopefully it is better than my dad's.
Will write a bit after I take my brother to Barnes & Noble so he can buy a present for her. Procrastinator.
Has ADD, plays World of Tanks, thinks up crazy ideas like children making spaceships for Hitler. Occasionally writes them down.Haldo - you're not going to go the route of Adjective Noun Fred? :P
The Revolution Will Not Be TropeableI start school the first week of September, and I am done in the first week of May.
I love MTU.
Yeah, seniors normally get out a couple weeks early. I did PSEO my senior year, though, so I only have second-hand information.

Both a blessing and a curse I guess. On one hand I can actually do shit (I have nothing to do. Friends are all busy and kentucky has few things) but on the other hand Guild Wars 2 comes out the 28th. So I am gonna lose some time of that due to school work.
Yes I am complaining about that. I understand why school comes first and such but I still find myself able to complain about it. Even though that doesn't do crap anyway.

It's a complicated situation.
EDIT 2: Oh, and Tumblr is messing with my Blogger stats.

Straight White Male Human Protagonist.
And given what I write, "human" does belong in there. SF humanocentricism is often closely tied to real-life racism, after all, and it's just annoying even when it's not.
