I don't think we'll have to worry about him for now. One of the visual guides mentions that Zare provides the crew with Imperial intel from time to time.
Latest blog update (November 5th, 2022).That just raises further questions. Either the Inquisitor is intentionally letting him run free so as to have a tenuous connection to the Ghost crew that he can manipulate at will, or the Inquisitor is incapable of telling when a fourteen year old is lying to his face. Ordinarily I'd assume the first, but Clone Wars had numerous instances of Jedi forgetting that they had powers so I don't know if the Force is being nerfed or what.
Out of Darkness was decent. I think that the shenanigans with Ezra, Zeb and Chopper are starting to become annoying by now, and the whole dilemma with Sabine and Hera didn't exactly interest me too much. Still, it was nice that we got to learn more about where Sabine came from, and the action towards the end was good (and lol fail with Sabine telling Ezra not to read too much into her saving him). Also, now I'm hoping we're going to get more information on this Fulcrum guy soon, because like Sabine I want to see why we're not allowed to know about him. XD
By the way, it seems the Grand Vizier in the "canon" continuity is now Mas Amedda and not Sate Pestage. Never was attached to Pestage so whatever.
The pig of Hufflepuff pulsed like a large bullfrog. Dumbledore smiled at it, and placed his hand on its head: "You are Hagrid now."I just saw the latest episode and it was okay (though, i personally didn't care for that "moment" between Ezra and Sabine), but i have to say, unless there was something i missed, i'm not really seeing the subtle ongoing story arc that Greg Weisman's works are normally known for. You know, where the stories seem unconnected, but in the background, there were elements of something much bigger subtly added in.
Also, just a thought, but since Vader isn't likely to be a major character in Rebels, what if, instead, they gave him a minor yet major role: E.G. The Crew crash lands on a planet that doesn't seem any different from Lothal (the Imperial control is pretty much the same), but then they realize that Vader was there which leads to some shenanigans and danger.
On that note, what if, while on a mission, Ezra runs into a young girl that he takes a liking to (romantically or platonically, it doesn't matter), they complete the mission together and either at the end of or over the course of the adventure, the young girl reveals herself to be Mara Jade. It seems like it could work since Luke and Leia would likely be 13 at this point and Mara not that much older or younger than either of them.
Neither of those sounds particularly appealing.
As noted before, there does seem to be a thread of the Empire recruiting. And there's this whole Fulcrum person.
I did like the fact we got some background on Sabine- and what happened to Mandalore after the events of 'Lawless'. (I will always find it hilarious how Duchess Santine got hate for trying to make Mandalore neutral when the Neutral Systems were probably the only planets that didn't get sucked into the Empire immediately). They did bring up a good point about trust and the need for secrecy v. the need to know to make good decisions. Hopefully they follow up on that a bit more. It was also nice to get an episode not focused on Ezra for a change in pace.
And Hera's line about faith... perhaps it will turn out that Fulcrum is a connection to another Rebel group? After all, the Rebel Alliance is called the 'rebel alliance' for a reason. Perhaps we're starting to see the seeds of the alliance forming.
My AO3Yeah, the whole thing with Fulcrum seems to leading up to a bigger plot. Same with Palpatine and Vader's plot of seeking out Force-sensitive children. Honestly, the pacing is no different than say, the first season of Young Justice, where most of the significant developments took place in the much latter half of the season.
Also, I saw next week's episode, "Empire Day", and it's a BIG one. Can't wait to see the conclusion to it.

Latest blog update (November 5th, 2022).Pretty good point about the pacing compared to YJ s1. Sort of a 'get to know the team' season, which we didn't need as much with The Clone Wars.
And thank you for getting me excited for the next ep.
My AO3I agree. I mean, I liked the idea of Erza and Zeb being Vitriolic Best Buds but the Slapstick routine is going to get really old, especially if Chopper keeps being a Karma Houdini.
Gonna have to agree on that one. "Fighter Flight" was a good point for them to start phasing that out, IMO. But now that their shenanigans have started putting other people in danger rather than themselves, they need to tone it down. Especially with Chopper, who doesn't really seem to have any positive points and just causes trouble.
I get the impression the only reason the rebels keep Chopper around is because they don't have any better alternatives for droids.

I've got fanfics for Frozen, Spectacular Spider-Man, Crash Bandicoot, and Spyro the Dragon.Agreed on wanting the shenanigans toned down a bit. I don't mind it being there, but it was just plain annoying in "Out of Darkness"
just watched "Empire Day;" holyshit waiting for the next episode is going to be painful.
PSN ID: FateSeraph | Switch friendcode: SW-0145-8835-0610 Congratulations! She/TheyBetween "Empire Day" and the recent episode of Gravity Falls, that's two Disney shows with characters who have reasons to despise their own birthdays. Must be that kind of week.

Yeah, that avatar's a 'Shop of my real face.So Ezra's exactly the same age as Luke and Leia then. Must be easy to keep track of his birthdays. But wow, I cannot wait for the next ep.
My AO3Actually, Ezra is slightly older than Leia and Luke.

Latest blog update (November 5th, 2022).So I've been rewatching The Clone Wars before starting on Rebels, and you know what I really want to happen now? A novel starring Hondo, Aurra Sing, Jango Fett, and Bossk in their glory days.
Is it me or does Ezra look really guilty when the Rodian guy regains his senses towards the end of the episode?
Yeah, more Hondo in particular would be nice.
Also am among those to see Empire Day and its cliffhanger. I do once again wonder how the Imperials haven't been familiarised with each of the rebels, but that aside it was pretty enjoyable. Kanan pretending to be overly patriotic was pretty funny, and the stuff with the Rodian was interesting. Look forward to seeing where this goes.

So this is a couple episodes back, but is anyone else disappointed that Kallus actually isn't a podracing fan? Would have added a bit to his character, I think.
You mean a Dave Filoni villain expressing appreciation for anything other than wanton destruction? I wouldn't count on it. Speaking of which, I'm also noticing the overall absence of any Weisman-style subtlety in plots or characters so far. With him getting dropped for consequent seasons, it seems like he was just tacked on for the name.
Still, Jason Isaacs is doing a grand job in his delivery, and I really like Kallus's badass normal tendencies - guy's got some chops, and not just the mutton kind.
...Jason Isaacs is the Inquisitor. Kallus is played by David Oyelowo.
I know that, I was referring to both of them on their own terms.
I'm also glad to hear of Mas Amedda as Grand Vizier, as well as see the Aqualish diplomat earlier on - it implies the new canon likely isn't going for the human high culture thing some of the older books had. For all its use in stitching some politically incorrect villainy to the Empire, speciesism wasn't really present in the films - Chewie was called a "thing" by one officer, but also a "walking carpet" by Leia minutes after, and that was that. It seems the Empire in general is coming out to be a Villain with Good Publicity, at least as far as the Core Systems are concerned.
He wasn't that bad in the sequel was he? He was fine in the novel, but those tend to be better. I just think TFU 2 was too short, and his "clone's" character development hadn't set in.
Not that it matters, of course. Hopefully the new Star Wars canon will reboot him and others, like Kyle Katarn. Would suck if we never saw them again.
