To be honest, I don't really understand shipping or it's appeal. Of course, I don't really know very much about romance, nor am I terribly interested in it, so I suppose that's a given.

I just like seeing two attractive characters together because it's hot.

If I have no sexual interest in either character, then I'll ship if I think they're simply cute together. Mordecai and Rigby OTP!

I ship slash and yaoi because I like it, and I find that when you ship things that are far out there, you are less likely to engage in shipping wars.

However, back in the day, used to be a HUGE ShikaTema fan.

Lenna/Krile, possibly because of Pair the Spares resulting from my shipping Bartz and Faris (which a lot of Japanese fan art support, too).

I don't really ship any characters. If the relationship is canon, then I'll accept it (though I might criticize the writer's decision). If it's ambiguous in canon, I'm perfectly comfortable with that ambiguity.

Of course, it can be interesting (or cute) to consider pairings between characters, but I never see it as anything more than examining possibilities.

no u

In all seriousness, the only shipping that I really care about – though Protagonesse/Bianca is pretty adorable the way I imagine it – is Mokou/Keine. The way I imagine that, it's pretty much the story of how Mokou's unnaturally eternal life means that she is, in fact, as good as dead and only wandering the earth as a ghost of a human who once lived, and Keine entering her life means that now she finally has something again that connects her to the world of living people. In other words, this is a romance that literally makes a dead person feel alive. Soooo I feel pretty strongly about it, yeah.

Usually. When I actually shipped a pairing (this was my short time in the Naruto fandom) it was crack and I got a lot of people complaining how stupid it was and I was ruining the characters. Though, the fact it including a main character and a popular villain probably did not help.

Though, I normally don't ship because, most of the time, it doesn't interest me. I'd rather discuss plot/setting/character rather than romance because pairings get tedious after awhile. I do "ship" sometimes for amusement.

Thought of another one. Jake/Trudy. Where did this one come from? I have no idea. But I was on board with the Official Couple until she turned out to be The Chief's Daughter. Then I mentally "ughh"ed from the cliche. This sounds like a less cliche alternative.

The Evangelion threads talk about shipping.
Of course. That's the primary concern of every Evangelion thread or forum: Rei or Asuka? Or maybe Kaworu?tongue

Personally, I also say Shinji/Rei. Shinji may be attracted to Asuka, but Rei seems to be the only one in whose presence he can really feel calm...

Other options... ah, hm.

Joshua/Ione - Makes so much more sense than the Joshua/Luise pairing, IMO.

Both Ivanova/Talia and Ivanova/Marcus - both canon, but of course both destined for a bad fate.

Admiral Naismath/Elli Quinn - because Miles should never have given up his alternate persona.

Arianne Martell/the Sand Snakes Yes. All of themtongue

I'm not going to deny being a crazy shipper. xD; After making a list, I've come to the highly disturbing realization that I have over sixty pairings I support, but thankfully not all of them are to crazy degrees. The main ones go something like this...

Ayara/Jasper - OTP for life, man. These two have everything in common (I'm much more of a Birds of a Feather shipper than an Opposites Attract shipper), not to mention chemistry and a half. I could write an essay on why I ship them, but I'll spare you and just say I love these two~

Zelos/Colette - People call this a crack pairing, I think. It's really nothing of the kind. Do they get canon hints? No, not really. Would they be likely to get together? Again, no. Do they relate to each other perfectly and would they make a wonderful couple if they did get together? Oh yes. The two of them have so much hidden beneath the surface, and they're the perfect ones to dig it out of each other. Takes one to know one, after all.

Red/Green - Actually a popular pairing for once! It's a cliche rival ship, and Red hardly has any real canon characterization. From Green's characterization, however, and what one can gather of Red, this can actually be a very deep, interesting relationship with more conflict than you can shake a stick at. Blame RP and amazing fanfic in part for this one.

Phoenix/Miles - Very popular, as probably everyone knows. I'm with the majority of shippers on this one in that I find it to be an obvious pairing (though I'm careful not to be obnoxious about thinking so), and I love their relationship whether romantic or not but think it definitely makes sense for it to be romantic. They're just so sweet together; to this day my response to being squicked or freaked out is, "Excuse me, I need to go read childhood Phoenix/Edgeworth fluff."

Those are my very favorites; many others like Wallace/Winona, Frings/Cecille, Laharl/Flonne, Yukari/Mitsuru, Byakuya/Hisana, and Willow/Tara are also up there, but I think I'll quit while I'm ahead...

This. I just dont see the point. About the only time I guess I am "Shipping", is when the series simply point it out. Does that count? Like, when its more than obvious than they like each other etc. I don think it counts thougt... I never really understood this whole thing at all...

Shipping Wars, on the other hand, can be pretty damm hilarious.
