How about...no?
YO. Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie.The whole two world nonsense has actually been around as early Sonic Adventure, we just didn't know it.
It still an outlandish concept, and seeing as the games never acknowledge it, neither will I.
Until very recently, Sega clearly didn't wtf to do with Sonic and so any Wordof God regarding canon or the established universe needs to be taken with a massive grain of salt. You can tell now with the connections between Mania, Forces, and the IDW comics that they are trying to reign things in.
Still, they're kinda digging themselves an unnecessary hole with the whole two worlds thing. They should just say the world has both humans and anthropomorphic animals and call it a day. It doesn't require a ton of explanation.
Given Mania Plus, I'm getting the feeling that the reason for the "two worlds" thing is so they could have a world where previously discontinuitied characters and concepts like Ray or Mighty (or presumably, Knuckles Chaotix in general) still exist, and another where nothing has changed and thus they don't.
Which, yeah, is really weird. I can kind of see the rationale, but not why they thought that made more sense than just re-retconning those things back into the franchise in the first place. Sonic's continuity isn't that tight anyway.

"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain.I thought the IDW comics were a completely separate continuity from the games?
Nah, the "two worlds" thing is indeed as old as the Adventures and we never got the hint. Naka never did the job of explaining, Iizuka is just the poor guy who got the hot potato in his hands and has to handle it before it burns out.
I was actually gonna call Iizuka "dumb" in view of his inability to intentionally get a Sonic game right.

Growing up, it's like a civil war, don't turn away, it's something you can't ignore...Remember when Tails was turned into a complete wimp in Sonic Forces?
How do you think it compares to the supposed character assassination of Luke Skywalker in The Last Jedi?
Nothing at all. It's simply because the recent games were too Sonic focused and didn't give Tails much time for action and now suddenly they thought that making him to the levels of a damsel in distress will make a story more "convincing."
The only good fanboy, is a redeemed fanboy. Those characters got screwed over hard in the film and Tails suffered form Badass Decay as he seems to have lost all of his fighting ability.
"Analay, an original fan character from a 2006 non canon comic. Do not steal!"At least Snoke gave off some impressive shows of power before he got cut in half a la Darth Maul. Tails simply cried out for Sonic for help.
Can you imagine if Tails was used as a source of slapstick comedy in Forces like Hux was in the Last Jedi?
Still hoping Snoke is revealed to be Darth Plagueis...

How did we quickly switch from Sonic to Star Wars?
Growing up, it's like a civil war, don't turn away, it's something you can't ignore...Just for some comparison of two ultra polarizing entries of famous franchises, almost to the point of getting threads locked to hell.
The only good fanboy, is a redeemed fanboy.Honestly they probably should have just gone with the two worlds idea 20 years ago. In hindsight it might have been much less of an abrupt shift than making the Japanese game's setting canon in every region out of nowhere.
Still waiting for a Legion of Losers movie...The official story back during the Adventure days was that everything was retconned and all the characters not part of the new direction were out of continuity. At the time, everything was written such that the Modern continuity was the only continuity.
A couple folks in development are trying to claim now that they always had two continuities and never tossed aside Classic Sonic’s set of characters, honest, but it clearly wasn’t the case at the time - which gives the impression that they’re just trying to upsell the current direction they’ve decided to take.

"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain.Remember that Sonic-themed racing game we got teased with a few months back?
Looking forward to it. With the exception of R, Sonic generally has good racing games, especially coming off the heels of the last one.
A cruel, sick joke is still a joke, and sometimes all you can do is laugh. What do you guys think of the idea of a Sonic game based on the third season of Sonic X?
It would be taking the plot of the Metarex saga and implementing it into the games continuity.
nah
To pity someone is to tell them "I feel bad about being better than you."It would be kinda boring just wandering through space like that.
Sure there's than occasional planet that could provide an gimmick or two, but what can Sonic do in space? Aside from being shot out of an cannon and exploring new worlds a la Sonic Colors.
Answer no master, never the slave Carry your dreams down into the grave Every heart, like every soul, equal to breakWhat about the story? Could certain characters and elements from Season 3 work in the games?
The planets could be kind of neat, but it'd be better as a spin-off game. Sonic X has a ton of material to work with as is, including lots of unique machines for bosses/enemies.
Issue would be Chris, obviously. But if he was just pure text at best, he could be less annoying. The only balancing issue otherwise would be the character options. X has lots of notable characters who taken tons of action. Though at least a story mode could be really fun. Especially since the various characters don't feel like carbon copies of each other, even those who started as clones.
...It's weird having so many websites and no way to properly display now, lol.Why even adapt Sonic X to a game? It was indeed one of the best adaptions of Sonic out there, especially for the Modern incarnation, but you know, there are lots of things in there that makes one cringe, like the kid (I won't call him Chris because this was caused by goddamn 4kids) who basically takes Tails' place.
While the Seedrian and evil thing looks cool in paper, it just wouldn't work well when done.
Growing up, it's like a civil war, don't turn away, it's something you can't ignore...
I usually take Word of God with a grain of salt anywhere. Rule of thumb: unless it enriches the narrative and/or make sense given what's shown canonically, you can ignore it.
