Since there seems to be a number of Tropers writing Haruhi fanfiction and K:BDH has its own separate thread, I wanted to start a thread about Haruhi fanfiction that isn't written by Durandall.

One of my favorite new crossovers is one written by Emma Iveli called Harry, Haruhi and the Philosopher's Stone. It's at http://www.fanfiction.net/s/6670960/1/Harry_Haruhi_and_the_Philosophers_Stone

http://www.fanfiction.net/s/6715287/1/The_Awakening_of_Haruhi_Suzumiya is written by a self-identified Troper and is quite interesting.

I have written four Haruhi stories myself but I am not going to plug them here.

A series of snippets in the vein of More than Fifty Four Negi and Chisame Threesomes, although with some flimsy semblance of an ongoing Excuse Plot, and my first stab at long Haruhi-centric writing.

The Multiversal Debauchery of Suzumiya Haruhi

Haremette One: Kyon

Looking back at it, I should have known it was obvious from the very same start.

"Yamada-san? What's up with Yamada-san?" I asked, barely lifting my tired gaze from the computer. Dammit, I needed more sleep. I really did.

"Haven't you heard the rumors? What world do you live at?" Haruhi spammed the words with as little pause as possible. "All the school knows it by now! That girl's looking for 100 'fuck-buddies'!"

Now that made me to tense up in abrupt shock. "Say WHAT?-!"

"Just imagine!" she waved her hands around. "It's all they comment on now. They all say she's gotta be crazy, naturally. She got the talk from the Dean and everything. Think about it! One hundred casual sex partners, she says!"

Was Haruhi actually expressing outrage over someone else's deviations? Could it be? Might there be some hope for her yet? It was a laughable idea, of course, and yet, at that point it seemed almost likely.

"Hm, well, that's a truly weird thing to announce," I tapped my fingers on the table, not finding anything better to say. "I don't doubt some creeps are going to try and take advantage of it, but..."

"I can't believe it!!" Haruhi tightened a fist up.

"Me neither, but not our business any wa—"

"How did we miss recruiting such a person for the SOS Brigade!!" she yelled.

I choked on the air I was breathing. "What, how, why?-!"

"Now those are guts! And willingness to take advantage of her sex appeal! Mikuru-chan could learn a few things from her! I've always liked someone with a clear goal in life! That's the kind of visionary we need to keep around!"

"We only keep her around in expulsion from this school!" I protested, slamming my hands on the table. "She's got a fully wrong aim on what should human relationships be!"

Haruhi looked at me with the annoyance of a child who has had her fun spoiled for a moment, then nodded. "Ah. I understand. Yes, you're right. She's got the wrong aim."

"See, I told you!" I felt reinvindicated for some flimsy, hopeful reason.

"She aims too low! I can't allow her to surpass me, so I'll aim for ONE HUNDRED FIFTY FUCK BUDDIES!!"

That broke my mind so much the only thing I could think about asking for the moment was, "What...? Why exactly one hundred fifty?"

She shrugged. "It's like collecting Pokemon, so it makes sense to start with that number. If we succeed, we can expand to the Golden, Silver, etc., editions."

I was livid. "You think screwing around like us is like collecting video game animals?"

Haruhi frowned again. "Where does that 'us' come from?"

"Ah?"

"What moves you to think that list includes you?"

"Nothing!"

"Are you that desperate, to jump on any chance that comes your way?"

"What?" I wanted to yell. Me, desperate! You're the one who's thinking of screwing around with 150 guys! Or guys and girls, and probably farm animals too, if I know you well enough. "No, no, wait! This is all a mistake! From the very same start!"

He seemed to remember something. "Oh yes, you're right."

"I am?"

"Yes. I made a mistake. The first edition of Pokemon has 151 monsters, not 150."

"That's not what I meant at all!"

"It's okay, it's okay. You're a long time buddy, so you can be Mew if you want."

"Mew?" I asked. Dammit, stop talking in weird videogame terms! And what was with that sudden use of the 'buddy' word? Do you want to butter me up so I can help you with that insane plan? Or does that 'Mew' mean something else?

That night, after arriving home, I took Imouto apart from her portable console for a moment and asked her what a 'Mew' was.

She gave me that 'Duh' stare. "It's the 151th Pokemon, everyone knows that..."

I felt like a splotch on the wall all of a sudden. Blast it, Haruhi, don't ever use bestiality in any sort of comparation to me.

There's of course Thnikkafan's fic: The Cries Of Haruhi Suzumiya which is a Haruhi Higurashi crossover complete with some of the Nightmare Fuel of the latter, and it's still ongoing.

I know that it's on the fan fic recommendations page already, but if you like crack fics then Super Star Ultra's fics Cracks in the SOS Dan and You Got HaruhiRolled are good for some laughs, and his fic A Closed Dead Space is a good horror fic. All three present multiple stories, although HR does have multichapter stories.

There's also the fic I wrote The Severance of Haruhi Suzumiya which is finished. It's a fic set a little after the timeline of the novels, and it has a Kyon x Haruhi pairing, at least until the end of the first chapter, when she dumps him to look for her first love, John Smith.

I find the psychological horror elements of Haruhi make it hard to write her. Unless I keep it silly, it starts to creep me out....

I HAVE done a Haruhi all-girl fic that I think is ok. http://www.fanfiction.net/s/4299956/1/Haruhi_Panic

@Napoleon: The last bit, where Kyon once again completely misses the point, was brilliant.

Weee, necromancy!

Wow, I can't believe that someone who wasn't me plugged The Cries Of Haruhi Suzumiya. Thanks, Grahf!

Actually, Super Star Ultra asked me if he could use some aspects of my fanfic in his stuff, but I turned it down. (I don't like the Crack Fic that much, and regardless, it didn't seem very high-quality. That might've been the point, but that's a trope I don't like. Regardless, I said no.

@Thnikkafan: no problem, it's well deserved.

Seeing this thread reminds me that everyone should read Under Review by Halbarad. It's quite well written, and deals with Haruhi figuring out the identities of her fellow club members, including that Kyon is John Smith.

Oh, and for those of you that are fans of Durandall, he's one of the people doing the beta on this fic, and seems to be really enjoying it thus far.

Bumping the thread because I have finally written and posted my Bizarro Universe story. Here it is.

Consensus is that it's good, but I made Kyon portray Haruhi too nastily for where he is at that point in time. Eh, live and learn.

[up]x3 Interesting.

I was somewhat amused at how closely alternate!Haruhi mirrored Sasaki. As a fan of the novels, Kyon's animosity did indeed feel a bit off. What weirded me out more was base!Haruhi's utter indifference at meeting an alternate-universe copy of herself. Even if her assumption was that it was a coincidence of names and the other Haruhi was some random stranger, I'd expect Kyon to get points for (at the very least) 'getting someone to pretend to be her, since she kinda, sorta, a little bit even looks close,' or 'finding someone with the same exact name as her,' since it is at least a little unusual.

Other than that it was entertaining. I enjoyed it; not much else to offer.

[up] Haruhi never caught alternate!Haruhi's name. She just thought Kyon was introducing her to the new girl.

Also, any similarity alternate!Haruhi has with Sakaki is entirely coincidence. I haven't even read the novels nor do I know anything about her personality. I guess "anti-Haruhi" only has a few different possible outcomes or something of the sort.

I still feel that's off, honestly. Haruhi's supposed to be sharp, and having her shake hands with and fail to make the connection with her own double just so she can be tsundere to Kyon.... Haruhi's obliviousness right there and Kyon's 'Bah, Haruhi,' attitude would be the flanderization that sarsaparilla commented on. It's not so off it prevents reading, but it's certainly a spot you could polish characterization.

I also wouldn't worry about the fact that your 'reverse!Haruhi' is basically Sasaki; that's what Tanigawa was going for anyway.

Well, I liked it. I'm interested to see where you're going with this, Thnikkafan. I'd really suggest reading the post-Disappearance light novels, though. That'll help you fine-tune your characterization.

Only Rainy Day — the Sasaki-centered side-story. But that's actually something that happens in middle school, so if you're not using her character, you can probably disregard that.

A bit of a necro, but I might as well pimp my own story a little.

http://www.fanfiction.net/s/7583784/1/The_Turn_of_Haruhi_Suzumiya

A Haruhi/Umineko no Naku Koro Ni crossover.

Although I had the idea before I read Cries, reading it gave me the inspiration to actually write this.

"For the second summer vacation trip, the SOS Brigade visits the island of Rokkenjima. Instead of a simple vacation on a deserted island, Kyon and Haruhi find themselves pulled into a long abandoned game board. Knowing the tragic fate about to befall the island, they must race to solve the mystery - and their own lives."

There's 4 chapters right now, and I'd say that's maybe 2/3rds of the way through (This part) of the story. Right now it resembles the first Umineko novel more than any of the other ones, so no Metaworld shenanigans until later.

If anyone is willing to give some constructive criticism, I'd greatly appreciate it. Being objective about my own work is a little hard, and I just can't help but feel like I'm missing something,

Thanks.
