As the YKTTWer of this trope I do realize that the name is a little spiteful, as well as a bit wordy. What I suggest is to change the name to The Organization and rename the Index that shares that name to Organized Tropes or something along those lines.

I like the current name. I like it much better than The Organization

Eh, I don't like the current name. It's a bit too Take That!-ish; at least The Organization doesn't have that unnecessary element to it.

What's Take That-ish about it? It's a pretty straight-forward name.

Perhaps it's just me being a bit paranoid, but when I see "generic", I see unneeded negative implications. These implications aren't really present in The Organization. Again, this is perhaps my being a bit paranoid, so make of that what you will.

The Organization is way too vague a name for this trope. If you're really set on a rename (which is frowned upon unless there's demonstrated misuse), I'd suggest dropping either the "Organization" or "Squad" from the title — using both is pretty redundant.

That said, what's the difference between Generic Evil Organization Squad and Nebulous Evil Organization?

[up] Size I think Generic Evil Organization Squad is usually like ~10 people and Nebulous Evil Organisation is like a full criminal empire.

[up] Yep, size is the issue. Difference between a dozen people and a huge organization.

Well if no one is liking current proposed trope rename, perhaps 'Oddly Small Organization' would be a better name. Though I do have this nagging feeling that there's already a trope with a similar name. I'll look into it.

Its fine imo "Oddly small" doesn't sound right since being a small group isn't so odd really.

Yeah, I knew I'd read Oddly Small Organization somewhere before.

I still say the current name needs to be changed. I very much intended the 'Generic' in the name to carry a negative meaning as while I recognized that groups like this were tropable, I also hated these kinds of groups. I realize that was immature and just think it would be the professional thing to do to remove the negative connotations.

Generic isn't bad by itself. It has slightly negative connotations, but they're not that bad.

I like this name. Besides, The Organization is already an index.

But yeah, Nothing wrong with the name, fun sounding and straight to the point.

It's the "generic" in the name that bugs me, though. It just leaves unnecessary room for people to use it as a negative trope when it's not supposed to be one.

I don't see any.

Am i the only one who don't see any negative connection to the "Generic" part of the name? I just see it as Snark at worst, And yeah, the "Organization Squad" part may be redundant, But that too is a part of the charm, Not to mention that it also gets the point across about the relation to Quirky Mini Boss Squad.

One could even see the Generic part as simply being there to point out that this Squad is normal in comparison to the Quirk.

"The Organization" on the other hand tend to fail to get the point across since there are already many Organizations in fiction and real-life that does not fit the criteria of the trope.

If you really see it as a large thing then i might suggest "Evil Elite Organization Squad" , "Evil Elite Boss Squad", "Evil Elite Boss Organization" (My favorite among my suggestion) or something in that manner to keep the relation to Quirky Mini Boss Squad.

How is this any different from Oddly Small Organization? (yes, it's a different trope)

Oddly Small Organization don't have mooks. The Generic Evil Organization Squad is part of an organization that might have mooks, they're just like the Quirky Miniboss Squad.

Aye: Oddly Small Organization is an organization you might expect to be larger... except it isn't. Like the Robot Mafia, which, despite being a Mafia, only has 3+ people in it.

This seems more like an evil team. They're not intended to seem like they should be bigger, they're just a group of baddies that came together for a single purpose.

How about Mysterious Organization X? X, as in an undetermined number; a lot of these seem to have a specific number of members (the ten Espada, the Thirteen Court Guard Squads, the ten Akatsuki, the One Shadow Nine Fists, etc. Plus, X also means 10, which is a typical size for these...
