I was wondering where people get their up to the minute news on video games. Blogs, websites, that sort of thing. I go to Topless Robot, but it's not as quick as I would like.

Destructoid. It's one of the few places that covers more obscure games, particularly online service games and whatever people on the Internet come up with.

For my news, various sources, although I look at Kotaku often.

I now go by Graf von Tirol.

Joystiq most of the time. Sometimes I might also hear about new stuff from Game FA Qs.

I go to Gamesradar.

It's not exactly naive. And it can happen. But it's tough. And definetly worthwhile.

Mostly Kotaku + Joystiq.

And "Reality" is unveiled. What did it want...? What did it see...? What did it hear...? What did it think...? What did it do...?

I dunno, could Steam count? I just look at what new games are available on pre-order and things like that.

Here on TV Tropes, sometimes by surfing my friend list on Backloggery, and, er... I-I have subscriptions to Game Informer, Nintendo Power, and EGM. I tend to use the dead-tree news sources for scrapbooks... Ninty Power's good for finding more obscure games for my main systems, though.

I stopped looking at gaming blogs entirely because they're so awful (especially Kotaku). I've learned if any real news comes up, it'll usually hit one of the forums I'm on first.

So...Neo GAF or TV Tropes. More news, less fake news.

Generally Kotaku, though with a(n extremely) heavy filter that turns the posts into halfway decent articles instead of editorial whining (also known as: ignore just about everything written by Plunkett and Bashcraft). Starting to gravitate towards this forum, though I can't import it into my Google Reader feed. That I know of.

Subscribed to Kotaku top stories. I feel I'm getting much more out of it than news thanks to the wonderful commenters. There are distinctly good and bad staff: I've learned to ignore anything by Bashcraft (LOL JAPAN AND BOOBS) and Plunkett (he went on for six paragraphs about how Fallout: New Vegas is the same as 3, enough said), and Tim Rogers... just ugh. The rest are pretty consistent with their duties and article quality, though.

I think I might subscribe to the general feed, though, because news occasionally seems to crawl and I appear to be missing out on some great articles that don't get tagged with "top" for some reason.
