  • Villain: Behold my new creation, the Heavy Light Generator!

  • Hero: Wait what?

  • Villain: Yes it is a magnificent machine capable of... *Looks around* Making light heavier by using nothing, I think. However light is not necessarily matter so it can't weigh more, and even if that is the case...

  • *The Villain's head explodes as the hero starts gibbering like mad*

  • *Enter Dragon-in-Chief*

  • Dragon In Chief: Oh I see that plan worked out magnificently. My name is Nigmas the son of E, and I made this beautiful machine for one purpose, to drive people insane from just thinking about what it is supposed to do. Which apparently in this nightmarish world causes human heads to explode.

  • *The Hero is crawling towards the Nigmas*

  • Nigmas: Though most people should know from the stories that there are always the few who can resist the powers of darkness. They tend to be called the heroes, and they never are killed. *takes out a pistol and aims it at The Hero* Too bad the real world isn't a story...

  • *Nigmas shoots The Hero in the head*

  • Nigmas: ...because what you did to my sister is not something you can redeem yourself for.

I decided to just do this the way I did for the sake of doing so. The word combination seemed bizarre and it seemed somewhat appropriate for Nigmas to appear.

You don't have to do what I did if you don't want to. wink

Behold! It is the Atomic Gatling Bayonet!! I don't even know how such a device would work, but it would be awwwwwesome.

Trans-warp Coagulator Shield!

Saves you from all those pesky trans-warp clots that could give you a stroke.

Hey, I said it was cheezy. And "heavy" refers to mass while "light" refers to photons, so cut me some slack here.

LOL

Out of 13,824 possible combinations there are bound to be some gems and duds.

The coagulator induces the clots, which is why it is deadly. . . even at trans-warp speeds and distances. :-)

Which is why a coagulator shield would be handy! [lol] ...and if Cap can use a shield for a weapon, so can I!

Also, a Standard Devestation Pistol, because it implies much more advanced models exist. wink

The end seeming immanent for our plucky heroine, Samantha Alvernon. T'naliath G'd'rogden, the dreaded intergalactic headhunter of the Gamma Sector, stood above her licking his green lips in anticipation of rending her flesh with his ENERGIZED MESON RIPPER. He leaned in and whispered, "Your fear...it smells good," while Samantha, bound to the bulkhead of the great space frigate Indomitable, could only quake in fear.

Then, suddenly, there was a soft 'click'. T'naliath froze. "I wouldn't do that if I were you," said dashing space pirate and rogue with a heart of gold Murphy Bulwark, who stood above T'naliath, his AUGMENTED THERMAL CARBINE pressed to the psychopathic alien's temple. "That little lady happens to be friend of mine."

Self guided gatling missile.

The aircraft launch an innocuous looking missile. What the target doesn't realise is that when the missile closes in to its target hidden gatling gun that will be released and start shooting at whatever in front of it.

Close-Defence Nuke Mine: Sounds less than practical...

Enhanced Deadbolt Shredder: A particularly violent lockpicking device?

Deadly Death Generator: Causes Terminally Fatal Death, a condition both Deadly and Lethal to humans.

Standard Gatling Gun: Not actually Sci-Fi, but useful.

I think I'll take the Active Fusion Rifle.

This is a beautiful creation. Within seconds I came up with completely plausible sounding sci-fi equipment, it's actually rather satisfying.

  • The Polarized Gatling Pistol
  • The Trans-Warp Electron Sphere
  • The Inertial Coagulator Mine
  • The Close-Defense Omega Rifle
  • The Enhanced Deadbolt Whip
  • The Computerized Proton Field
  • The High Frequency Flux Grenade
  • The Enhanced Light Launcher

There, I just came up with 8 new weapon ideas for my Space Pirates idea. Righteous.

  • Light Meson Grenade
  • High-Frequency Disruptor Field
  • Inertial Nega Beam

I have been too lazy to program anything, so I discovered that MediaWiki has a number of handy extensions that help creating random stuff, such as RandomInclude and RandomSelection. The latter is installed on Wikia, so if anyone knows a Wikia project suited for this, use this code to generate any number of awesome weapons:

<choose><option>ATOMIC</option><option>DEADLY</option><option>STANDARD</option><option>ENHANCED</option><option>POLARIZED</option><option>ENERGIZED</option><option>INERTIAL</option><option>ANTI-TANK</option><option>CLOSE-DEFENCE</option><option>ACTIVE</option><option>RAPID-FIRE</option><option>COMPUTERIZED</option><option>HEAVY</option><option>LIGHT</option><option>TRANS-WARP</option><option>HIGH-FREQUENCY</option><option>POWERED</option><option>LONG-RANGE</option><option>NUCLEONIC</option><option>ACCELLERATED</option><option>PHASED</option><option>EXPLOSIVE</option><option>AUGMENTED</option><option>SELF-GUIDED</option></choose> <choose><option>THERMAL</option><option>FLUX</option><option>DEATH</option><option>NUKE</option><option>DEVASTATION</option><option>PLASMA</option><option>GATLING</option><option>LASER</option><option>PROTON</option><option>GAUSS</option><option>FUSION</option><option>DISRUPTOR</option><option>ELECTRON</option><option>MESON</option><option>NEGA</option><option>BLASTER</option><option>OMEGA</option><option>ANTI-MATTER</option><option>COAGULATOR</option><option>NEUTRALIZOR</option><option>LIGHT</option><option>MEGA</option><option>NAPALM-X</option><option>DEADBOLT</option></choose> <choose><option>RAY</option><option>BOMB</option><option>CANNON</option><option>CARBINE</option><option>WAVE</option><option>SHIELD</option><option>GUN</option><option>MISSILE</option><option>PISTOL</option><option>GRENADE</option><option>FIELD</option><option>BEAM</option><option>TORPEDO</option><option>SPHERE</option><option>RIFLE</option><option>LAUNCHER</option><option>GENERATOR</option><option>MODULATOR</option><option>BAYONET</option><option>SHELL</option><option>MINE</option><option>WHIP</option><option>RIPPER</option><option>SHREDDER</option></choose>

Sorry about the missing linebreaks, the code was too large.

@Koveras: Go for it!

@Zombie L: The "Deadbolt Launcher" was a nickname given to a weapon in my sci-fi battle game, generally weilded by robot skeletons. I suppose in that incarnation, the deadbolt would be the shredder and not the shredee. But it doesn't really work as a "deadbolt whip".

Whether you think you can, or you think you can't, you are probably right.

Rolled a few dice.

RAPID-FIRE NUKE BAYONET Wait. What?

COMPUTERIZED LASER WHIP Again. What?

ENHANCED NUKE PISTOL Okay, that one sounds more logical. Not sure how it would work, though... really tiny nukes?

POWERED NUKE FIELD These dice really like nukes...

STANDARD NUKE RIPPER What exactly is standard about that?

I can't work out whether the Computerized Death Generator is better than an ATOMIC GATLING RAY.

Also, I got some dice and got these:

  • ATOMIC NAPALM-X RAY
  • LIGHT GAUSS MODULATOR
  • RAPID-FIRE NAPALM-X CARBINE
  • LONG-RANGE DISRUPTOR SHREDDER
  • RAPID-FIRE DEADBOLT WAVE
  • STANDARD DEADBOLT BAYONET
  • ENERGIZED COAGULATOR RIPPER
  • CLOSE-DEFENCE MESON GUN
  • COMPUTERIZED THERMAL RIFLE
  • NUCLEONIC NEUTRALIZOR PISTOL
  • INERTIAL DEADBOLT RAY
  • EXPLOSIVE ANTI-MATTER PISTOL
  • HEAVY MESON FIELD
  • LONG-RANGE DEVASTATION WAVE
  • EXPLOSIVE FLUX GUN
  • RAPID-FIRE DEVASTATION MINE
  • AUGMENTED GATLING RAY
  • ACCELLERATED OMEGA MODULATOR
  • AUGMENTED BLASTER MODULATOR
  • HEAVY DEVASTATION SPHERE

That last one sounds like Happy Fun Ball.
