Instead of betraying Julia in Room 101, Winston shouts "Down with Big Brother!" and gets his face eaten by rats.
A Mons series based around Final Fantasy monsters and summons.
Adamantoise and Ahriman are the mascots now
Angry Birds as a gritty teen drama BTW I was writing this while eating a sandwich.
It's now a gritty Superhero Story where the characters are regular humans with Animal Motifs and Animalistic Abilities, but that's largely put on the sideline to make room for family drama and high school angst. Fan reception is mostly negative, with the superhero action scenes being the only saving grace for the show.
Neptunia as a late '00s Nicktoon, retaining its signature Affectionate Parody and Medium Awareness but with a dash of Back at the Barnyard-esque style of humor, complete with the soundtrack of Guy Moon, and the animation of the later seasons of SpongeBob SquarePants. "The name's Uzume Tennouboshi! Yeah, it's pretty badass, I know." - Uzume, Megadimension Neptunia VII
Sounds like a lot to think about ... but what it boils down to is a bunch of cute anime girls making video game jokes and references in a Denser and Wackier world.
Before and after every cheesy B-Movie is a low-budget space-themed super hero show; the beginning introduces the threat of the episode, and the ending has the threat beaten (or, occasionally, is a to be continued bit for the next episode).
An episode of DuckTales (2017) where Della Duck dates Pete (who is a captain like in the '87 show).
Well, the triplets aren't exactly going to be happy to find out who their mother's dating, and that's nothing compared to how angry Donald's going to be... hopefully, if PJ's around in this continuity, they might at least commiserate with him on account of his father being such an awful person.
The Owl House, except Eberwolf adopts Luz, and he's Australian now
Eda is now the head of the Beast Keeping Coven, which means that Eberwolf isn't a member of any coven.
Knuckles: The Rock Opera
Now that's what I call good cop, bad cop.A series of songs about the misadventeures of a guy and an echidna-like creature.
Gooseworx's Grizzy and the Lemmings

Bump with new prompt:
The Octonauts, made by Gooseworx, but the tone and plot is more-or-less the same.
Edited by Oggy123 on May 17th 2024 at 6:38:34 PM
Every episode is a Musical Episode, but the cheery tone and Gooseworx's animation style try to stay together.
Street Fighter II The Movie ... with Dan Hibiki as a main character.
Told by Dan himself, it frames Hibiki as the Hero of Another Story, as he infiltrates Shadaloo and M. Bison’s ranks on his own, single-handedly beating every fighter, and constantly being admired by Chun Li. Eventually, he has a Curb-Stomp Battle against M. Bison, with him retiring to live a simple humble life at his newly built millionaires mansion.
Mostly an in-joke amongst fans, it never gets major mainstream attention, but some respect amongst hardcore fans and those interested in the games’ canon.
Yellow Submarine as a Point-and-Click Adventure game.
Everybody loves the me! I’m a great athlete! The surrealism is unfortunately toned down for the sake of telling a cohesive narrative, although it can still be found as Easter Eggs.
Eddsworld as written by Fujio Akatsuka. Orcus on His Throne will always be my pet peeve.
Basically the same premise, except a lot weirder and there are more nods to Japanese culture.
Pokémon Sword and Shield, except it was designed and animated by the staff at WETA Workshops (you know, the company that Peter Jackson works with)
Visual Effects of Awesome ensues.
Transformers but the Cybertronians are played by both animatronics and actors in suits while humans are stop motion puppets.
Kinda similar to Fireman Sam.
Thomas & Friends (HiT era) if its scripts were written by the writers of Crash Twinsanity. "Can't afford me? Tough break, kiddo."
Plots are the same, but it's Denser and Wackier.
Love Live! if it was dubbed in the style of Ghost Stories (and with dubbed songs!).

Being a musical series, it features a lot of Take Thats to the music industry, and also features a lot of jokes in the dialogue that would not be out-of-place in an American sitcom, such as those targeted at American culture. In a Japanese setting. Otherwise, the translated songs more or less remain the context of the originals.
Calvin & Hobbes: The Series if it was an actual show, by Seth Macfarlane.
Now that's what I call good cop, bad cop. It's significantly more mean spirited, there may or may not be cutaway gags
Total Drama but with 2010s Cartoon Network series protagonists
Either the challenges are far more fantastical to account for the more superpowered contestants or said contestants have restrictions placed on their powers. Either way, they eventually team up to find the mastermind behind the show.
Dune as a JRPG on the Wii.
I think you mean the David Lynch adaptation.
Edited by Rockernator on May 21st 2024 at 11:54:13 AM
It’s based more on David Lynch's adaptation, as the more recent films wouldn’t have come out yet. The motion controls are criticized for being rather tedious and poorly implemented.
Fixed it. I saw a review of the 2000 adapation, so that’s where I was mistaken in thinking Hubert was the director of the adapation and not the author of the original book.
Deltarune as an early 2000's cartoon airing on Adult Swim.
Edited by AdtAuthor44 on May 23rd 2024 at 8:31:36 AM
I want to go to Tonio's.DELTA WARRIORS, an [adult swim] original, focuses on two friends (emotionless Kris and temperamental Susie) and the weird things that come to their school through a closet that they (sometimes) deal with, along with their Cloud Cuckoo Lander imaginary friend Ralsei. Much more vulgar humour and pop-culture references are involved, while also surprisingly having the same heart as the original game. Most episodes have the cast dealing with a character from Deltarune or Undertale (who have become Corrupted Character Copy versions of themselves), and usually with at least one death by the end of the episode, which the Warriors never remark on. Season Two also adds the school’s new insane principal Spamton, but with Internet jokes that are much more timely.
The show falls into a lot of Schedule Slip thanks to the fairly expensive animation, but is able to have a solid three-season run through the mid-2000s, despite ending on an unresolved cliffhanger and promise for more.
Friday the 13th as a series in the vein of American Horror Story.
Everybody loves the me! I’m a great athlete! Each episode spends a majority of its rundown Developing Doomed Characters, so that we get to know each of Jason's victims better before he actually kills them. Jason himself, however, doesn't get any background exploration, in order to maintain his mysterious menacing air.
Creature from the Black Lagoon, except it's a modern-day WWE production, and the Gillman is played by John Cena, of all people
Edited by Sammael29 on May 21st 2024 at 11:15:29 AM
Some of the supporting characters are now WWE wrestlers who appear as guest stars throughout the movie. It gets a cult following.
A Kirby RPG spinoff... made by Project Moon.
Kirby has to battle his way through what's essentially Dreamland if Dr. Robotnik had his way with it. He also comes across many monstrous creatures
Courage the Cowardly Dog if it aired in The New '10s
Charlie and Raymond become Vitriolic Best Buds. It lasts an unceremonious 1 season but has its fans
Nineteen Eighty-Four but it receives a Bittersweet Ending
