TOO BAD SONNY :3
Always, somewhere, someone is fighting for you. As long as you remember them, you are not alone.Kodomo No Jikan is easily the anime that is a definite no Hollywood adaption ever.
Although I wouldn't bet against the French making an adaption of it...
If Yoko Kanno does the music for it then I will see it no matter how bad it may be.

Sorry, couldn't resist.
Currently taking a break from the site. See my user page for more information.^ Aw, I entered this thread just to say that one.
ummm....a live action Kodomo No Jikan already exists...although not a Hollywood Adaptation.
If Hollywood did do it though...who'd play Rin? Dakota Fanning?
Oh wait...anime/manga that should NEVER be given an adaptation by Hollywood...this one's a no-brainer. Dragon Ball.
Just...Dragon Ball.

"Every opinion that isn't mine is subjected to Your Mileage May Vary."If only they had known earlier about that one, Signed.
Always, somewhere, someone is fighting for you. As long as you remember them, you are not alone.Yeah, I haven't seen one recently, is what I meant. Having more couldn't hurt.
Isn't Dakota Fanning like, a teenager now?
Just...Dragon Ball.
Just to clarify, you mean the original Dragon Ball and not Dragon Ball Z, right?
You are Completely Missing The Point: he is saying that the Dragonball Hollywood movie should never have happened. And most people agree.
@thread topic: We already have lists of these shows on various trope pages. I don't see any anime on the Beyond the Impossible page that would make a good Hollywood Adaptation. Can anyone else find pre-made lists?
Yu hav nat sein bod speeling unntil know. (cacke four undersandig tis)the cake is a lie!Well yeah, I thought I was. Hence the need for clarification.

I'm also gonna say most Super Robot anime would never work. Real Robot anime would be more ideal however...
...any Dragon Ball. The fact that they casted Justin Chatwin as Goku shows that Hollywood shouldn't touch any anime that isn't based in the US...or medieval Europe. I hope the Bleach movie is a rumor.
Speaking of which...what would a live-action Hollywood movie of Zero No Tsukaima be like? With the exception of Saito, everyone else is european....although I thought Kirche was black.

"Every opinion that isn't mine is subjected to Your Mileage May Vary."They did manage to get Transformers to work, though YMMV on that.
EDIT 2: removed and added as its own post

Excel Saga and especially Puni Puni Poemy.
Also, Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei. Suicidal teacher who makes his teenaged beautiful students to fall in homicidal love with him. Yeah.
Anything by CLAMP. Anything at all.
I've got new mythological machinery, and very handsome supernatural scenery. Goodfae: a mafia web serial^ Chobits.
Oh, does Touhou count? It's neither an anime nor a manga...but it DID have an anime adaptation...and plenty of doujin.

"Every opinion that isn't mine is subjected to Your Mileage May Vary."Try this again:
@Signed: I was actually looking for an anime trope dealing with Fanservice as something that fits with this subject, but Male Gaze heavy anime and the like could work fairly well. Some of the Hentai tropes, on the other hand, would not work in Hollywood. O Ring Orifice anyone? *is shot for mentioning that trope, even spoilered, in relation to this topic*
EDIT:oops, misread the comment about Zero No Tsukaima. Though it was an example of something that would not work because of the fanservice, not something that would work. Comment is otherwise fine.

Yu hav nat sein bod speeling unntil know. (cacke four undersandig tis)the cake is a lie!Well, Code Geass might be feasible, and CLAMP did the designs. Does it count?
Magic Knight Rayearth MIGHT work, too.

^^...I know it's addressed to me, but...no idea what you are replying to...
btw, anyone know what's the guy in Customer's avatar?
Dance In The Vampire Bund...if done Hollywood style, might be adapted and twisted into some sort of reverse-Twilight.

Cowboy Bebop. No, just no.
You are displaying abnormally high compulsions to over-analyze works of fiction and media. Diagnosis: TV Tropes Addiction.
