If Dan's trying to make his own Chaz, he's got a big scabbard to fill.
"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain.
That could actually be kind of a fun ensemble cast moment, though, with Raven teaching the various "new" Magic Users how to use magic appropriately, Hilarity Ensues.

"Why would I inflict myself on somebody else?"
"Look, a Demonic Duck of some sort!" Been a while since we've seen that character.
Also, had to laugh at Kevin's response being akin to Aren't You Going to Ravish Me?
"Why would I inflict myself on somebody else?"Aw, Kevin's left out in the cold with only Mittens to keep him warm. Poor him.
Also, considering that the Magpie here is obviously a construct, the fact that magpies aren't really thieves of shiny things is immaterial - all that matters is what the creator of said construct believes. I kinda think The Rant is more meant to distract from some other question Shive doesn't want to answer.
Reminder: Offscreen Villainy does not count towards Complete Monster.I can believe a magpie construct being a thing. They are dangerous fuckers when they get territorial, notorious for swooping. At least, well, the Australian ones are, dunno how prone to swooping the non-Aussie ones are.
Non-Aussie ones or the ones in my backyard at least are mostly just noisy (unless your a snake carcass I guess).

One for sorrow, two for joy...
Creed of the Happy Pessimist:Always expect the worst. Then, when it happens, it was only what you expected. All else is a happy surprise.Three for a girl who is sometimes a boy?
The Revolution Will Not Be TropeableI kind of have a lot of questions about Kevin's reveal here... particularly when he all but admits that a wizard didn't do it. It's kind of up in the air how he'd even know some of that stuff if it was clearly before his consciousness.
Also, Kevin should make his point more succinct - what can Ashley even do? There is an obvious answer try to make a more obvious powerful artifact apparent and hope that it and the golem duke it out instead, but it might help to actually present the challenge to Ashley so that she can actually think of it. (Also, that isn't without its risks, of course, but we all know that Ashley is going to survive just fine, for reasons.)
Reminder: Offscreen Villainy does not count towards Complete Monster.Nvm, I reacted to something that wasn't being said. My bad.

Death is ridiculously rare in this comic. Ashley's survival has nothing to do with how much Shive does or doesn't like her.
Fair point, but even beyond that, nothing bad is going to happen to Ashley here. Like, I'll honestly be a bit surprised if she ends up with anything on the level of a skinned knee.
Reminder: Offscreen Villainy does not count towards Complete Monster.I'd say that the worst that's likely to happen is that she's imperiled for Elliot to save her.
But actually getting injured or killed is extremely unlikely given the light-hearted nature of the series.

Creed of the Happy Pessimist:Always expect the worst. Then, when it happens, it was only what you expected. All else is a happy surprise. Thus we come nearly full circle to Ashley's scream of terror. Elliot "Hero Saves His Damsel" moment inbound.
My Tumblr. Currently liveblogging Haruhi Suzumiya and revisiting Danganronpa V3.So, to ask the obvious question... who made this golem? The way that's worded suggests that a human wasn't responsible (unless Turned Against Their Masters is in effect).
Reminder: Offscreen Villainy does not count towards Complete Monster.Or a human considered certain artifacts too dangerous for human use.
Well, given the facial design of the golem, my bet would be on its maker being Uryuom.
"Why would I inflict myself on somebody else?"Reminds me of Live Wires in terms of how that might go Horribly Right.
Idle thought: Golem bro says that the power is concentrating in "sleeping human". Ellen's about to become a human Dewitchery Diamond?
He might just be talking about the magic shift, but Shive's blurb calls attention to the Diamond fragments vanishing and turning into glowy aura bits.
My Tumblr. Currently liveblogging Haruhi Suzumiya and revisiting Danganronpa V3.I figured that they all just have the power of the Diamond. The golem, wand, and bird got it from the diamond being smashed, and Ellen got it from her birth.
Writer, or something. And... a button? 🖲️From her birth, Ellen has the power to spread her original curse. That's not quite the same as having the power to split cursed entities into cursed and non-cursed counterparts.

My Tumblr. Currently liveblogging Haruhi Suzumiya and revisiting Danganronpa V3.So Hanma is sticking close to Greg. Perhaps it will be with the aid of Greg that she'll be introduced in canon stories.
Either way, I hope she gets a canon appearance one day, her interaction with Ashley's friend Liz during the recruitment for the game did seem to imply that there might be such plans. And that Liz and/or Ashley might have met Hanma before.
