  • Alternative Character Interpretation: Do either of the Lennys hate anime as much as they claim? Robolenny uses a lot of anime terminology, and IRL Lenny is know to be a fan of Dragon Ball. Could it be that the Weeaboo virus was not fully purged from Robolenny's body when they were trapped on Weeaboo Island?
  • Aluminum Christmas Trees: Lenny thought that the IGN guide's claim that the Wooden Shield could block Frenzy was bogus from the start after he disproved it, but it turned out that in the earliest version of the game, the shield actually COULD block frenzy. He pointed out this correction in "Demon's Souls BUT with the 2009 Gamefaqs strategy guide".
  • Broken Base:
    • Lenny's video on Darkest Dungeon. On the one hand, a lot of Darkest Dungeon fans feel that his criticisms of the game being pure RNG that doesn't account for strategy fall flat, since that's a common complaint made by new players before they figure out how to influence the RNG to their advantage, and that he made a ton of rookie mistakes and didn't learn from them, resulting in several of his characters dyingnote . On the other hand, he gave the game an "it's great apart from it's shit" rating, which he gives out to games that he personally doesn't like all that much, but gets why other people love, which was enough to abate some fans of the game.
    • Nothing even comes close to consensus on "Bloodborne: A Flawed Masterpiece". A lot of his viewers agree that the setting is what will make or break the game for the average player, but many Bloodborne fans among them were insulted and confused by him calling the game "edgy" and feeling like it was written by "A 14-year-old on Deviantart", given that Bloodborne's setting and visual design are usually considered to be a big part of what makes the game so great. This only worsened with his follow-up review, "I Was Wrong About Bloodborne", in which he doubles down on his opinion that it's a fantastic game that's just not for him, which again some in his fanbase were ok with while others continued to believe that he simply wasn't getting it.
  • Crosses the Line Twice: Lenny making jokes about literally beating up cripples? Not funny. Said cripples all being Handicapped Badass boss battles, of which some are considered to be among the tougher fights in FromSoftware history? Turns them into hilarious Badass Boasts.
  • Ensemble Dark Horse: Lenny's mother, AKA ZeroMum, absolutely steals the show whenever she comes on, from her first appearance killing the Duke of Tseldora in "Dark Souls 2 BUT with the IGN GUIDE"context. The fact that she clearly doesn't know exactly what she's doing when discussing the games Lenny plays yet continues to be supportive of her son but is also a legitimately funny woman with great comedic skill and the ability to play off of Lenny is very endearing and heartwarming to a lot of viewers. The great reception from fans that her sporadic appearances in subsequent videos got would eventually lead to a whole video series starring her, "Can MY MOM beat Dark Souls?"
Lenny's Mum: "So easy, even your mother could do it." It'll be a piece of piss!
  • Ho Yay: IRL Lenny and Robolenny's relationship is pretty clearly Just Friends, but it's not hard to interpret many of their interactions as Belligerent Sexual Tension, and they clearly deeply care for each other.
IRL Lenny: Do you remember when we were in the pub that one time, and Vaati was there, and he said "stop making jokes about my mum", and you just KICKED him in the balls?
Robolenny: Haha yeah that was pretty funny.
IRL Lenny: Yeah, it was, man. You're my best mate.
Robolenny: Thanks, Lenny. You're my best friend as well.
  • Iconic Sequel Outfit: "THE DARK SOULS 2 EXPERIENCE" has Lenny dressing up in "Nigerian Prince robes" as there was no dress in the game and therefore no Running Gag. "THE DARK SOULS 3 EXPERIENCE" would see him don his iconic "Pretty Princess Dress" that would become a part of his channel's identity to this day.
  • Memetic Mutation:
  • Old Guard Versus New Blood: A New Blood-skewed example. Lenny made the decision to stop making videos with Robolenny because the view counts on his videos were underperforming, culminating in "The Doom Eternal NIGHTMARE EXPERIENCE" not being able to crack 100,000 views in the first couple of days, which is usually the baseline for a Zerolenny video. He felt like the reason the videos were doing so poorly was because Robolenny was The Artifact from 2016 who had at some point only stuck around because he had always been a part of the channel and because Lenny's older fans always wanted him to come back. Since Lenny's Robolennyless post-"IGN guide" videos do really well and are bringing in loads of new fans and subscribers, it's looking like he may have been right, and there's a growing portion of his audience that wasn't even around for the Robolenny days anymore. The only large-scale videos Robolenny has made an appearance in outside of a cameo since have been "The greatest Dark Souls Mod Ever Made" and "Elden Ring BUT TORCH ONLY", and those were deliberate throwbacks to the older days of the channel.
  • They Changed It, Now It Sucks!:
    • There is a small but vocal portion of the fandom who think that the "Experience" videos were better when it was just the TTS voice with no IRL Lenny, but they have quieted down in recent years.
    • Lenny's decision to make more "edited stream highlights" style videos without Robolenny has been met with this by some, because they think that the best part of the channel was the two-man comedy dynamic between him and Robolenny. Lenny retired the Robo voice because he felt like it was causing his channel to stagnate and he was really only putting it in to please the older fans of the channel, but this hasn't stopped people from commenting "Where's the robot voice" on every video he makes. Robolenny still appears, just a lot less frequently. When the time came to make "Elden Ring BUT TORCH ONLY", Lenny took a youtube poll to see if the video should feature Robolenny. The poll reached 90% in favor after only a few hours.
