  • Crowning Moment Of Awesome: For many fans, Onew singing Italian opera for his solo stage at the first concert.
    • Key being able to do girl group dances better than the girl groups themselves.
    • SHINee's 2012 comeback. Also, fancam focuses on Minho and Taemin.
    • SHINee is BACK!!!
    • 2013 as a whole was one long Moment of Awesome - a huge amount of releases, including two (or three, if you count "Dream Girl" and "Why So Serious?" as two albums) new albums, a new EP, and a handful of singles, the band managing to get through an entire music video and comeback without Jonghyun (who was in the hospital following a car accident), new side activities for most of the members, and it all culminating with the band's very first Artist of the Year award (generally seen as the most important award in all of K-Pop). The music video for "Colorful" was created and released at the end of the year, full of behind-the-scenes footage and clips of memorable fan events to commemorate what a truly awesome year the band had.
  • Crowning Moment of Heartwarming: Basically the entire Hello Baby run through, which showed a sweet, more mature and nurturing side to all of the members. They even cried when Yoogeun left.
    • A time during promotions for "Everybody" when the band stayed particularly late to finish a recording for a music show. It was very late at night and starting to rain, so they got permission to let the fans waiting outside into the building. While waiting for the recording to start, the band greeted the fans, and Jonghyun and Onew sat down with them in the lobby for an impromptu Q&A session. Particularly heartwarming when considering that some groups can't even get near their fans without a number of bodyguards lest they want to be verbally or even physically abused.
    • Key noticed a fan with many self harm pictures on her Instagram and sent her a message, in English, urging her to stop. Besides the fact that no one told him to send her a message - he noticed her commenting on one of his pictures and took the initiative - Key is barely fluent in English, and self harm isn't exactly a topic that's covered in foreign language classes, yet he took the time to send it to her in her native language. In general, SHINee are regarded as some of the most truly nice idols in the industry, and the real caring and attentiveness they show to their fans outside of fan signings and meet and greets and whatnot is one of the biggest reasons why.
  • Ear Worm: "Ring Ding Dong" is particularly bad in regards to the chorus. Ring ding dong ring ding dong...
    • Fantastic fantastic elastic elastic...
  • Fandom Rivalry: Had a kerfluffle with BBC!Sherlock of all fandoms when the new album came out. All due to confusion over the usage of Name's the Same tags on Tumblr. Yes.
  • Hilarious in Hindsight: On an episode of Hello Baby Jonghyun admitted he had a crush on actress Shin Sekyung. They began dating some time later.
  • Ho Yay: In spades with all the members, but Jonghyun and Key deserve special note, to the extent that Key usually refers to Jonghyun as "honey". There's a YouTube channel dedicated entirely to video clips of them pumping up the gay together, like sharing Pepero.
    • Minho and Taemin definitely as well. They have a very brotherly relationship and are often seen hugging or messing around together.
    • Outside of just the other members, Key has plenty with best friend and (as of SM's merging with Woollim) labelmate, Woohyun. Even other idols comment on the way they act like a couple - once when Woohyun was accused of texting his girlfriend while brushing his teeth he replied, "it's not my girlfriend, it's Key!"
  • Narm: "The SHINee World (Doo-Bop)" attempts to be a Boastful Rap, judging by the Korean lyrics. Any attempts to take the song seriously, however, are lost by the line "we got the flow it's break your naughty", and it all just goes downhill from there.
  • Tastes Like Diabetes: Their "Hello" concept.
  • Viewer Gender Confusion: Usually Taemin bears the brunt of this, possibly because he's the youngest, or maybe because he's very, very pretty...
    • There's also Key, who's really fond of girl group dances.
    • Minho is definitely not exempt: a Japanese tabloid once mistook him for Changmin's date.
  • What The Hell, Costuming Department?: Key's and Minho's pants look a little...weird and out of place during their 2011 K-Pop Music Fest part in Australia.
    • Taemin's pencil leggings in "Dream Girl"
  • Yoko Oh No: It was confirmed in October 2010 that Jonghyun had been dating a popular actress, Shin Sekyung. This was the general reaction from both his fangirls towards her and her fanboys towards him. However, it seems like many fans may have actually accepted the relationship because SHINee's fanclub numbers have been on the rise. Unfortunately the couple broke up due to busy schedules.
