  • Awesome Moments: Booth gets his revenge on Hartley and the Bishop by breaking out of the prison transport he was in, tipping off Das about the cash, who proceeds to freeze the account, leaving them broke, then getting them to go on a heist with him as the leader, and they split the money evenly. Magnificent Bastard doesn't even describe how Booth works when he's getting payback.
  • Cliché Storm: A common criticism among those who are willing to talk about it is that this film doesn't offer anything that hasn't been done in other action films. Even the lead actors are basically playing the same types of characters they had in the past, with no real variation on the roles.
  • Critic-Proof: The movie wasn't liked by critics, but it ended up Netflix's most watched movie ever in its opening timeframe, enough so to launch the development of two sequels.
  • Fan Nickname: Some people can't even be bothered to remember the main characters' names, so they refer to them by the names of their actors, thanks in no small part to the Typecasting making them act no different from their usual roles.
  • Heartwarming Moments: The crowd and matadors warn Hartley and Booth to run when they get into the pit and are appropriately horrified when Hartley is hit. When the duo successfully escape the pit, the crowd cheer and throw roses down at them, which Booth gleefully appreciates.
  • He Really Can Act: Gal Gadot is somewhat infamous for having a spotty record with her performances, with her role in The Fast and the Furious franchise not giving her any opportunity to showcase range beyond Dull Surprise, and performances as Wonder Woman in the DC Extended Universe not always being consistent with her line delivery. Here, she holds her own in Snark-to-Snark Combat with Ryan Reynolds, and plays a delightful Large Ham Dark Action Girl with a quirky, off-beat personality.
  • Ho Yay: Booth quietly squees that Hartley must love him when he fakes handcuffing him for Das.
  • Hilarious in Hindsight: Nolan Booth mistaking Richard Attenborough starring in Jurassic Park as David Attenborough starring in a nature documentary is now even funnier after David Attenborough is revealed to be the narrator and host of 2022's Prehistoric Planet, a paleo-documentary that pushes back several misconceptions of dinosaurs created by the Jurassic Park franchise (and came out the same year as Jurassic World Dominion).
  • Magnificent Bastard: All three of the main leads are incredibly charming rogues.
    • John Hartley is an FBI agent who finds himself stuck with Nolan Booth in an attempt to thwart master criminal the Bishop. A ruthless operator who stages a masterful breakout with Booth despite Teeth-Clenched Teamwork, Hartley is so good that Booth remarks Hartley could be a master thief of his own—which, in reality, Hartley is. His real identity being that of the second Bishop, John Hartley decided to become a conman as a way of upstaging his abusive father, becomes an Unholy Matrimony with Sarah Black, and spends the entire film manipulating Booth in order to use him to find the third Egg of Cleopatra, even staging a fake torture sequence to break Booth. Even when leaving Booth tied up to a tree, Hartley assures it's nothing personal and that he's come to sincerely respect Booth over their time together.
    • Nolan Booth is a thief after Cleopatra's eggs who collaborates with John Hartley to steal the second egg from Sotto Voce before Sarah Black can. After Booth breaks them out of prison with an improvised explosion and stolen keycard, they infiltrate a masquerade ball at Voce's mansion and break into his treasure room. When they are caught and interrogated, Booth lies to Voce and Black about the egg's location and tracks the third egg down in a Nazi bunker in Argentina. When Hartley and Black betray him and leave him to be arrested by Interpol, he accepts his defeat gracefully, escaping his prison transport afterwards. Months later, he leaks their bank account to Interpol, having all their assets frozen. Having tipped Interpol off on their location, Booth helps them escape in return for them joining him on a heist.
    • Sarah Black is known as "The Bishop" and the only thief to constantly outdo Booth himself. A master of long cons, Sarah bests Booth and Hartley in combat, selling them out to an infamous Arms Dealer, only to later double-cross the dealer and torture Hartley till Booth gives up the location of Cleopatra's final egg. Seeing through Booth's lies and tracking them to South America and even when seemingly beaten, she reveals herself to be Hartley's lover, swindling the egg to sell. After Booth manages to freeze the accounts of Sarah and Hartley, he still saves and recruits them for his latest heist, knowing their skills are unparalleled.
  • Memetic Mutation: The Mall of Asia globe getting stolen Explanation
  • One-Scene Wonder: The bride for whom the eggs are meant as a gift, due to how her awe and excitement about the eggs is quickly overshadowed by her reaction to Ed Sheeran being the wedding singer.
  • One True Threesome: Hartley/Booth/the Bishop has caught on, sparked by Booth’s flirtatious comments to Hartley throughout the film, then enflamed by Booth implying that they’d both stolen his heart at the end.
  • Spiritual Adaptation:
