• Angst Aversion: Izuku is far more angsty than canon, including at one point offering to kill himself for temporarily brainwashing Tsuyu on accident while saving her life. While he does get better later, many readers are put off by it before reaching that point. Many readers are also turned away by the prevalence of rape in the story and that many characters are bigger jerks than in canon.
• Creepy Awesome: Izuku is able to resurrect the dead, has a squad of zombie girls at his back and call, can shrug off lethal injuries, and control anyone exposed to his blood. Class 1-B learned this the hard way when Izuku and his zombies annihilated them during a test.
• Fridge Logic: Ojiro's dislike of Izuku comes from the fact he can use it to control other people, because his martial arts teacher lost her title to a guy that challenged her and then used his Mind Control quirk to use one of her students as a Human Shield, forcing her to surrender. One has to wonder what kind of challenge that was meant to be.
• Salvaged Story: After the negative backlash from how Izuku belittled Todoroki's problems, their fight at the end of the tournament has Izuku apologize for what he said, acknowledging that he had no way to know how bad Todoroki's life is and that his comments were insensitive and out of line.
• Squick: The injuries shown tend to be disgusting, from Izuku getting crushed by Nomu to Tsuyu getting her stomach pierced by debris.
• Take That, Scrappy!: Mineta is expelled after his perversion goes too far, culminating in attempted rape using his Quirk.
