YooHoo to the Rescue is an Italian-Korean All-CGI Cartoon produced by Aurora World and Mondo TV. The series is the third TV series to be based on the YooHoo & Friends toy line, and serves as a revival of the franchise. The show is the first Netflix original series for children from South Korea.

It follows the adventures of five animal friends; YooHoo (Kira Buckland), Pammee (Ryan Bartley), Lemmee (Bryce Papenbrook), Roodee (Lucien Dodge), and Chewoo (Cassandra Lee Morris), who live in the magical land of YooTopia. Once an Episode, they travel to a new destination to help animals in trouble and make new friends along the way.

When there is a problem on Earth, the colorful fruits of the Sparkling Tree begin to fade. The friends get their special gadgets and board their ship Wonderbug, a ladybug-like aircraft. They use wit, teamwork, and special gadgets to solve problems and help animals in need. Over the course of their adventures, they learn fun facts about a wide variety of environments and make friends with animals, because otherwise, it wouldn't be much of an Edutainment Show.

Joining the team for the first time are Slo the sloth (Kyle Hebert) and Lora the scarlet macaw (Erica Mendez); the former is the caretaker of the Sparkling Tree, while the latter is YooTopia's messenger.

The series was first released to Netflix with a 26-episode season on March 15, 2019. The second season was suddenly released on October 11, 2019. The show received a British English dub that's still accessible via Netflix by VSI Studios, with talent such as John Hasler of T&F and [1] fame and David Holt.

YooHoo to the Rescue contains examples of:

  • Adaptational Nice Guy: Lemmee was always a grump, but in this series he's a lot nicer, especially since here he is a doctor. In the 2012 version especially he would not have taken such an occupation. This one even politely asks Roodee for his magnifying glass!
  • And Knowing Is Half the Battle: Every episode ends off with a "YooHoo's Journal" segment where it recaps what happened in the episode.
  • Art Shift: While all installments in the YooHoo & Friends franchise prior to this were always 2D, this show is different in that it's an All-CGI Cartoon.
  • Quarter Hour Short: The show is presented as 15-minute stand-alone segments.
