DinoCity is a pre-school show produced by Russia's Riki Group. Itfollows a family of dinosaurs who live in the big city and face a series of daily adventures that bring them closer together.

Tropes present in DinoCity:

  • City with No Name: The city's setting is never named at all in any episode.
  • Depending on the Writer: How much of a Bumbling Dad Dad Saur is will vary between episodes but he's not always one. However, for Mr. Raptorson and Di Vega it isn't consistent between episodes.
  • Early-Installment Weirdness: The first six episodes were slower-paced, had a more minimalist cast, and weren't as dialogue-heavy but not silent, and animation was only slightly different.
  • Geographic Flexibility: How large the city setting is varies between episodes, with Manhattan-like skyscrapers in some episodes to rural lands the next episode.
  • Hate Sink: It's a show for pre-schoolers with a setting that's not too Sugar Bowl but not too Crapsack World and often has No Antagonist in many of its episodes and the conflict coming from a misunderstanding, but this trope is zig-zagged; the only character who seems to be hateful is Di Vega, wife of Mr.Raptorson, a local millionaire. She's snobbish, an Alpha Bitch, belittles and humiliates other characters, and is a Jerkass a lot of the time. But she's never shown as evil due to the show's setting and audience, so it's toned down. But there has been the occasional episode that shows her as likeable, although very infrequently, therefore zig-zagging this trope.
  • No Antagonist: As it's a slice of life show, this trope fits it, although Di Vega is often used as the closest thing to one when they need it. But there is no over-arching villain.
  • Slice of Life: The show focuses more on mundane day-to-day issues over a longer-term conflict, and does it at a gentle pace.
  • Status Quo Is God: By the end of the episode, everything will always return to normal next episode no matter what.
  • What Does She See in Him?: Gender-inverted. Di Vega is a snobbish Alpha Bitch Jerkass whereas her husband Mr.Raptorson is a Nice Guy Uncle Pennybags who's well-liked. Somehow they've managed to stay together despite the obvious differences.
