Jordan Joan, our JoJo and a Walking Shirtless Scene.

JoJopolis is a JoJo's Bizarre Adventure Fan Webcomic by AlgebraFalcon and JonyDrake. It started in April 13, 2020 and ended on October 25 of the same year, with 29 chapters. A sequel, Bone to Blades, has been unleashed.

In 1977, a small-town police office named Sonny Zeppeli arrests Jordan Joan, a drug addict caught transporting large quantities of narcotics—including Butterfly's Dream, a substance capable of granting Stands to those who consume it. In short order, the two are thrown into a world of Stand battles, as they rush to stop whoever is responsible for the spread of this dangerous drug before California is overrun with Stand users.

It can be read on Webtoons, here.

JoJopolis contains examples of the following tropes:

  • Achilles' Heel: God Only Knows might allow Fred to immediately know whatever he wants about any possible topic, but it's up to him to be able to understand the information it gives him. Cosmic Wheels is able to catch off guard because it's an attack with infinite force, and no human mind can comprehend the concept of infinity.
  • all lowercase letters: Myra Armstrong's speech is almost entirely in lowercase, representing how she has to speak quietly to avoid being hit by her own Stand. The only exception is when she screams in order to attempt a Taking You with Me attack on Sonny.
  • Arc Words: "I love you more than anything else in the world". Usually said by Fred in relation to his son, Jordan.
  • Bad Powers, Good People: Murder Most Foul, Sonny Zeppeli's Stand, has the power to induce cell death in any organism it touches. Sonny is also one of the main heroes, and he'd really rather not kill if it's unnecessary. He even uses his power for good, specifically killing the cells of the brain tumors in Butterfly's Dream users, freeing them of the mind controlling effect.
  • Berserk Button: Don't refer to Johnnie Newt's prawns as shrimps. Sonny makes that mistake, and Johnnie responds by first chewing him out in a Ghiaccio-style rant, then unleashing the power of his Stand on him and the group.
  • Bittersweet Ending: Jo Jopolis ends with Jordan killing Fred, and Rose surviving the encounter with "God". Sadly, Sonny, Mr. Jones, and Ms. Jackson die in the battle. It ends with Jordan and Johnnie deciding to work together and make the world a better place. However, the events from Parts 3-6 will still happen, with the Earth being destroyed by Made In Heaven.
  • Bloody Murder: Rose Speedwagon's Stand, Love Like Blood, gives her full control over her circulatory system, including fully manipulating her veins like tentacles, shooting it like a projectile, and increasing its temperature hot enough to cause burns. Very similar to a certain Pillarman.
  • Brainwashed and Crazy: Using Butterfly's Dream grants one a Stand, but also implants them with a brain tumor that makes them subservient to Reverend Fred. Thanfully, Sonny's Murder Most Foul is able to get rid of these tumors (including in himself). Averted with Satch Armstrong, who follows the Reverend out of his own volition, and therefore is completely unaffected by the tumor's removal.
  • Charged Attack: Cosmic Wheels, a technique of Hurdy Gurdy Man, is a variant taken to Story-Breaker Power levels. It allows the Stand to charge up its own attacks. The more it charges, the greater the range, speed and power of the resulting attack. What makes this so dangerous is that the ability has no upper limit, allowing Jordan to launch infinitely powerful attacks.
  • Continuity Nod: Many expressions used throughout the original manga (like a character claiming that his stand "has no weaknesses", which is taken from Yoshikage Kira's comment on Sheer Heart Attack) are reused here, often in similar contexts.
  • The Dragon: Satch Armstrong is this to Reverend Fred, being the man who Fred trusts the most as Satch actually agrees with Fred's plan.
  • Eldritch Abomination: "God" looks like absolutely nothing like anything else in the comic, is a SiliconBasedLifeform and according to Fred, has 64 faces.
  • Exploiting the Fourth Wall: Everywhere At The End Of Time's ability to travel in four dimensions appears in the form of Fred moving between the panels of the comic. He kills Mr. Jones by slamming his head on the border of the comic, and can slice off limbs by closing the borders as one would close a window.
  • Eye Scream: Rose sacrifices her right eye to capture and defeat Gully Bop.
  • Fantastic Drug: Butterfly's Dream, a drug that grants its user a Stand at the cost of forcing them to obey Reverend Fred.
  • Healing Hands:
    • One application of Jordan Joan's Stand, Hurdy Gurdy Man, which can expand materials: it can expand damaged tissue to fill in wounds, though this is harder to do when treating organ damage.
    • Rose Speedwagon's Love Like Blood also has curative applications, letting her give blood transfusions to those who need it.
  • Heart Is an Awesome Power: Mr. Jones' Stand, The Family Stone, has the power to... write down a person's family history in hieroglyphics. Doesn't sound that useful, right? Well, it nearly turns into a Story-Breaker Power when paired with his fiancée, Ms. Jackson, and her Stand, Language Arts Crew, which allows her to temporarily use the abilities of any real person she reads about. She ends up using the combined abilities of Robert Speedwagon, and William and Caesar Zeppeli. She also comes very close to copying God Only Knows and becoming omniscient had it not been for Sunny rewriting Jordan's family history to be filled with losers.
  • Heel–Face Turn: Since most of the enemies are Brainwashed and Crazy due to their brain tumor, they go straight once they're defeated and treated by Sonny's Stand. Johnnie Newt, Mr. Jones, and Ms. Jackson come back for revenge against Fred during the final battle.
  • I Need a Freaking Drink: Or a Freaking Smoke, in this case. After their encounter with Wolfman Jack, Jordan takes a puff of marijuana to unwind. Although Sonny calls him out for smoking right in front of him, a police officer, he shortly after asks him to let him take a toke too.
  • Intellectual Animal: Gully Bop, a seagull, is yet another animal that developed a Stand, and therefore became intelligent. He's the webcomic's answer to Pet Shop.
  • Make Them Rot: Sonny Zeppeli's Stand, Murder Most Foul, destroys living cells. Prolonged contact can cause a necrosis chain reaction, which is usually fatal.
  • Mentor Occupational Hazard: Well, Sonny is a Zeppeli. This trope runs in the family. He teaches Jordan about Stands, then dies from the injuries he sustains during his fight against Satch Armstrong.
  • The Minion Master: Johnnie Newt's Stand, A$AP Mob, gives him control over prawns. He can control them by the millions, making them quite dangerous despite their small individual size.
  • More than Mind Control: Those who use Butterfly's Dream are manipulated into obeying Reverend Fred. However, Satch Armstrong actually agrees with Fred's plan, so even after the tumor is removed, he doesn't pull a Heel–Face Turn like the enemies before him.
  • Not Quite Flight: Wolfman Jack's Stand, Free Bird, lets him instantly change directions while preserving momentum. If he uses it while falling, he can make himself "fall" upwards or forwards, basically letting him fly.
  • The Omniscient: Reverend Fred's Stand, God Only Knows, lets him see every event that has ever happened and will happen in the universe's history. The only exception is if a Stand-using blood relative is nearby... someone like Jordan, which also causes Fred to temporarily forget all of the knowledge he got from his Stand.
  • Silicon-Based Life: "God" is revealed to be this. Not only that, but it's composed of the same material as the Stand Arrow and the Requiem Knife.
  • Soft Water: Averted when Jordan defeats Johnnie. Since they're on top of Yamborghini High, a 7-story tall mass of prawns that suddenly broke apart, Jordan takes quite a bit of damage upon landing, though he did manage to shield Johnnie from the impact. It takes Rose's Love Like Blood to start his heart again and wake him up.
  • Splash of Colour: Most of the comic is in black and white. However, Everywhere At The End Of time is colored in red and blue.
  • Starter Villain: Wolfman Jack is the first villain Sonny and Jordan encounter. They see him standing on a cliffside while Jordan is being driven to the police station,
  • Taking You with Me: Attempted by Myra Armstrong, user of The Sound. Since the Stand is a spear that's drawn to sound, and its power increases with the volume of the sound it's drawn to, she screams as loud as she can while Sonny in between it and her, causing it to impale them both. Thankfully, Jordan awakens his own Stand, Hurdy Gurdy Man, and is able to heal them both.
  • Too Dumb to Live: Rose, after being convinced by Sonny that Stands were real, takes Butterfly's Dream to gain a Stand and fight with them, after also being told they also cause users to become controlled by the Big Bad. Had it not been for Jordan, Rose would have killed Sonny then and there.
  • Walking Shirtless Scene: Jordan Joan is arrested when he's shirtless, and he doesn't get a chance to put a shirt on before crazy Stand shenanigans start happening.
  • Well-Intentioned Extremist: Reverend Fred has seen the madness that will come in the future, from Dio awakening in Cairo, to Kira terrorizing Morioh, Diavolo in Italy, all the way to Pucci resetting the universe. He intends to stop it by creating a portal to the domain of a being he calls "God" and create a "New Order" to prevent such from happening.
