Lee Davidge hosts Still Gaming, which features video game reviews done via still photos of him while talking. He cohosts a podcast with Little Miss Gamer called the Lee and Z Show which covers various topics mostly relating to video games. Occasionally he does anime-related segments and countdowns, as well as featuring his then-fiancée, now-wife, Dena Natali as a co-host.

Dena, aka Cyborcat, later began her own spin-off, The Game Den, which used the same still photo technique but with a focus on older games mainly with a horror theme. She also hosts The Film Den which covers movies in the same retrospective format as games on The Game Den, Pixels as Big as Cats where she gives quick reviews of obscure games for the Atari 2600, and Horrorcast a podcast about various horror related topics. She also hosts episode recaps of My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic and Red Dwarf.

Tropes:

  • AcCENT upon the Wrong SylLABle: Dena has a tendency to pronounce Wikipedia or just Wiki like, WEE-KEY
  • Art Evolution: Lee's older videos featured very poorly taken photos using a handheld camera with pictures often repeating themselves. Later videos improved in visuals with the simple addition of a tripod and higher quality camera.
    • In Dena's case, she used a screen capture method, filming a review sans audio and taking out frames where appropriate. Eventually she transitioned to just straight up filming her reviews with audio and visuals in sync.
  • Backdoor Pilot: Dena's Dens stemmed from Still Gaming(?) which were normal episodes of Still Gaming except hosted by her instead of Lee. The final episode of Still Gaming(?) to feature her as host was her review of Silent Hill.
  • Bring My Brown Pants: Title Defense Mode in Punch-Out!! for Wii.
Lee: When I saw King Hippo... (shows clip of King Hippo revealing a manhole cover protecting his belly) Yeah, I pooped myself.
  • The Cameo: All things considered, Dena managed quite a big one in her Silent Hill 2 Game Den. In the part 4b while recounting the novelization Silent Hill 2 we get an excerpt read by none other than Guy Cihi the voice of James!
  • Conversational Troping: A big element of Dena's more recent Game/Film Den episodes.
    • Natural fears is often brought when discussing the Silent Hill franchise
    • This trope is taken up to eleven in her review of the game I Have No Mouth, and I Must Scream where she starts a counter going off anytime she calls a trope by name.
  • Expy: She feels J.P. from Hellraiser III: Hell on Earth is one to Frank of the original movies, both are dangerous pleasure seekers who get involved with the Cenobites and drag tons of people down with them. Though she feels J.P. is a very poor imitation, lacking Frank's charisma, menace, and acting talent in addition to suffering from Show, Don't Tell.
  • Female Gaze: Much like her husband Lee (see Male Gaze below) Dena has no shame in appreciating how good looking some of her characters are in her games, notably the men of Silent Hill.
  • Fun with Acronyms: DGASS, AKA "Don't Give A Shit Syndrome", where a game has characters or a plot that Lee does not give a shit about (Fallout 3 and [PROTOTYPE]).
    • In her, less than enthusiastic, Film Den of Catwoman (2004) as Patience dons her infamous cat suit...
Dena: Ladies and gentlemen, I give you "CINO": Catwoman In Name Only.
  • Hype Backlash: Lee's about to put Neon Genesis Evangelion on his and Dena's top anime theme songs, but he changes his mind when he realises the lyrics are about Shinji...
  • Kindhearted Cat Lover: If her Cyborcat art didn't give it away, then Dena's affection for her cats Terra and Sol very much makes her apply to this trope.
  • Male Gaze: In Lee's BlazBlue review, when Taokaka said "Boobie Lady", the camera zooms on Litchi's boobs.
  • Painting the Medium: Even though Lee was physically present at the anniversary brawl, he continued to be rendered entirely in stills. It also makes him invincible (except in Kickassia, when the inverse seems to be true), and useful in staring contests.
  • Perky Goth: Dena certainly qualifies. She dresses in dark colors more often than not, is fascinated with very macabre subjects, horror films, survival horror video games, and MLP:FIM. Each is spoken with the same amount of enthusiasm.
  • Power Nullifier: After Lee explains to Angry Joe that there is science involved with his still-frame lifestyle, Joe asks if he could take a picture with his new infrared camera. It nullifies Lee's chronitons and turns him into 3D. Lee Screams Like a Little Girl and runs back into his hotel room.
    • Lampshaded in Little Miss Gamer's review of Psychonauts, in which his Sasha-impersonating psychic abilities allow him to move normally.
  • Running Gag: The Wendee Lee Counter (a rising number next to a silhouette of Haruhi Suzumiya) whenever Lee stumbles upon said Voice Actress in a game/show.
  • Shared Universe: Because they were once on Channel Awesome and did a number of cameos, they're considered part of the Reviewaverse.
  • A Very Special Episode: In response to his passing, Dena decided to cover They Live! in memory of Rowdy Roddy Piper on the Film Den.
  • Video Review Show
    • Still Gaming is a more traditional review show, picking a game, talking up points of interest, providing critique, and ending with a score.
    • Dena's "Den" videos subvert this a bit. She has admitted her videos are less reviews and more like retrospectives.
