"Hello I'm Mr. Shovelware and I hate games like this that come from bad game companies that don't know what good games are"

"I know it's called Super Monkey Ball Adventure, but did that mean it had to be programmed by monkeys too?"
Mr. Shovelware

  • Accidental Dance Craze: In the Mc Groovz Dance Craze review, also called back to in Shovelware Christmas.
    • "Yeah, sorry about that, I got a little distracted"
  • Acting for Two: Jeff plays multiple characters in his shows, often interacting with himself in the process. This leads to a lot of Inexplicably Identical Individuals.
  • Angrish: Mr. Shovelware
  • Arch-Enemy: Garnold to Mr. Shovelware
  • Blind Shoulder Toss: Done a lot by Mr. Shovelware to highlight how garbage the games are.
  • Catchphrase: "Lets dig into this turd and see how bad it truly is"
  • Caustic Critic: Mr. Shovelware
  • Christmas Episode: 'A Shovelware Christmas', parodying A Charlie Brown Christmas.
  • Cliffhanger: Tends to happen between the penultimate and season finale episodes of Shovelware.
  • Critic Breakdown: Basically the 'schtick' of Mr. Shovelware, he goes through one most episodes.
  • Damned by Faint Praise: Mr. Shovelware will sometimes give the game the praise of it being "playable" and not as bad as Sonic 06.
  • Derailed Train of Thought: "If you asked your girlfriend to play this with you, I'm sure she would dump you. I mean if you own this game in the first place she would dump you, if you like Nintendo in the first place she would dump you. If you like video games she would dump you. Why do girls have such picky standards? It pisses me off! ...but that's besides the point."
  • Disproportionate Retribution: When Garnold takes over in the season 1 finale, Mr. Shovelware comes back and kills him. When the voice of Garnold challenges him on this, Mr. Shovelware seems to think it was proportionate. However this is also a case of Arson, Murder, and Jaywalking in that Garnold also sent Mr. Shovelware to Hell, but it seems it is taking over his Youtube show that Mr. Shovelware takes umbrage with.
  • Enemy Without: Garnold, who turns out to be the side of Mr. Shovelware who plays good games. Though this may be merely due to Mr. Shovelware's Sanity Slippage.
  • Exactly What It Says on the Tin: Shovelware usually deals with games that are Shovelware, though sometimes he admittedly stretches the definition.
  • Fugitive Arc: A pretty long one spanning four seasons, also a case of You Didn't Ask since it is not revealed until later that he didn't get out of prison legitimately.
  • Goshdang It To Heck: Swears are usually substituted with "frick" or "frack"
    • Subverted in his Amiibo review when he refers to little chip not letting you use the amiibo in the box as a "douche move". Though he acknowledged this change in his Shadow the Hedgehog review when stating he hate when family friendly characters start saying more mature words in their later years then adding "shutup I start this when I was in my Freshman year of High School."
  • Hearing Voices: In his Amiibo review, Mr. Shovelware hears voices from his amiibos including Garnold and Donald Trump
  • Hostile Show Takeover: Garnold in the season 1 finale of Shovelware, also a case of Meet the New Boss.
  • Inopportune Voice Cracking: Happens frequently when angry, especially in early reviews.
  • Just Got Out of Jail: The beginning of season 2 of Shovelware, alluding to the season 1 finale.
  • Most Gamers Are Male: Mr. Shovelware's Derailed Train of Thought from Super Monkey Ball Banana Blitz "...if you like Nintendo in the first place she would dump you. If you like video games she would dump you"
  • Nap-Inducing Speak: Mr. Shovelware's Wii Play experience was boring enough to elicit a yawn and other signs of fatigue.
  • PCVsConsole: Mentioned in the Crystal Castles review, with Mr. Shovelware referring to PCs are superior.
  • Neologism: "Satisfication" in the Crystal Castles review.
  • Real Life Writes the Plot: In the Shadow the Hedgehog review, Mr. Shovelware's room is destroyed, this coincided with Jeff moving in real life.
  • Running Gag: Frequent mentions of Sonic 06 as a benchmark for low quality and the insistence that he will not review it.
  • Sanity Slippage: Seems to be happening somewhat to Mr. Shovelware since he killed Garnold but is most evident in his Doki Doki Literature Club review.
  • Self-Damaging Attack Backfire: In his Xbox Music Mixer review, he attempts to break the game over his knee and hurts his knee instead of breaking the game.
  • Self-Deprecation: In the Super Monkey Ball Banana Blitz review, he makes reference to Sonic's design changing "more than I've changed Youtube channels"
  • Speech Impediment: Garnold, along with a something of a southern accent leading to an interesting speech pattern.
  • Spiritual Successor: Mr. Shovelware notes that Mighty Number 9 is supposed to be the spiritual successor to Megaman, though it fails to live up to that standard.
  • To Hell and Back: The season 1 finale of Shovelware has Mr. Shovelware sent to hell, he makes it back from hell at the end, only to be sent to prison for killing Garnold.
  • Training Montage: The Kaizo Mario 64 video contains one.
  • Uncanny Valley Makeup: The Bratz review has Mr. Shovelware do this to one of the characters.
