In spite of its name, give this show a shot. Trust me.note

Object Cringe is an Object Show created by Clankybot777 (formerly Sillybox777) which premiered on 1 January 2018. Don't let the name deter you from watching since the show is actually hilarious and quite heartfelt once you get past the Toilet Humour, sub-par animation, and voice acting (do note that it improved over time).

It all started when two stick-figure entities named Good and Bad appeared out of nowhere to host a competition based Game Show in which 18 (later 21) objects battle for an unknown prizenote . The show ran for 17 episodes before Clanky decided to replace it with Object Cringe Again, a similar show that takes place in an Alternate Universe and 4 newcomers replacing 3 of the original contestants.

Then, by some miracle, the original show got Uncancelled 6 months after its initial cancellation and continued alongside its predecessor. Then afterwards, both shows got discontinued after the finale of Object Cringe since Clanky wanting to focus primarily on her other show, Clankybot. Then Clanky changes her mind and not only picked up Object Cringe Again again but ran a third season called Object Cringe 3 set in the main continuity.

Object Cringe 3 takes the same competition hosted by a different pair of stick-figure entities named Hot and Cold who put 9 veterans and 6 newbies in a grueling competition for a chance to win an "Object Cringe" (Whatever that is).

The show can be viewed here.

This show contains the following tropes:

  • Accidental Misnaming: In "What's Your Name?" when Fidget Spinner was confirming to Good that his team name is "The Dank Memes", Gravey interjects at the last second with his suggestion, "The Death Kills". And so, Team "The Dank Memes No The Death Kills" was born. Happened again in the season 3 premiere where Planky's question over his makeover is mistaken by Hot to name his team "Do you think I look cute this way?", much to the ire of Chocolate.
  • A Dog Named "Dog": The objects are named after their species (A blueberry named Blueberry, a table named Table, etc.) if this is your first time learning this.
  • A Lizard Named "Liz": Quite a portion of the characters have A Dog Named "Dog" names with "-y" stuck at the end of it.note
  • All for Nothing: The prize for Object Cringe was never mentioned throughout the series' run until Muggy brought it up to Blender in "I Didn't Do It". Turns out, Good never had a prize to begin with for winning the game which is why you should never blindly follow hosts that appear out of the blue to compete in their game shows.
  • All the Worlds Are a Stage: The final challenge of Object Cringe is every single contestnote  from the entire show combined in rapid succession. It ended with Brainy becoming the winner of Object Cringe although nearly everyone objects to this due to his status.
  • Amazon Brigade: The members of the Scissorers consists entirely of women, four of whom are in relationships with one another.
  • Animate Inanimate Object: You heard it once, you heard it a million times.
  • Animation Bump: After the aptly named "The One That Starts Having Animation Midway Through"
  • Anthropomorphic Food: On the menu, we have Blueberry, Burrito, Chocolate Bar, Popcorn, Raisin and Tomato.
  • Anyone Can Die: The contestants can be killed as often as they are recovered.
  • Armless Biped: It wouldn't be an object show without these guys. note
  • Artifact Title: The show itself isn't a joke show at all despite being full of jokes and gags, especially the first half.
  • Berserk Button: Out-of-universe example with Clanky disliking Object Cringe being called a "joke show" based on the name, even though it's not, by others as well as these people criticizing the show for said reason.
  • Continuity Nod:
    • The Big Cheese from episode 5's challenge remains in the background onwards.
  • Dark Horse Victory: Brainy, in a sense that not many rejoiners in object shows ever make it far in the game, let alone win. Good even uses the exact reason as to why he could not believe Brainy had won Object Cringe.
  • Death Is Cheap: Recovery centers are available in wherever the show takes place so the contestants cannot permanently die, much to Gravey's ire.
  • Deranged Animation: Notable example is when Planky was on a rampage against Brainy in "I Didn't Do It". Props to the animator for making the scene just as frightening as it sounds.
  • Divergent Character Evolution: Originally, Good and Bad were equally mean, weird, and share a disconcerting attitude towards others especially the contestants but as time progresses, the former kept these traits while the latter Took a Level in Kindness and became dorky but likable as a result.
  • Fingerless Hands: A founding element of the standard object show artstyle, where fingers are implied.
  • Larynx Dissonance: The females in the show fall into the category, which gets noticeable in later episodes, as they were probably voiced by Clanky himself when he was undergoing puberty hard.
  • Never My Fault: Since they have despised and insulted Brainy for no reason and for so long, the Object Cringe cast cannot fathom the idea that Brainy is suffering from years-long emotional abuse because of them and outright refuse to admit it when others begin to stand up for him. As a result, they all changed for the worse, not only in that aspect but their character overall.
  • Non-Gameplay Elimination: Gluey quit the show in "Not My Brainy" by joining Scar Brainy to his dimension and never coming back.
  • Official Couple: Flaggy and Forky. They were initially Heterosexual Life-Partners at the start of the series but became apparent that they're more than just close friends in "Good On The Inside", as seen by them exchanging romantic gazes with each other. After that episode, the titular duo is always shown together, holding hands and this even extends to OCA, where they were established as girlfriends.
    • Object Cringe 3 ups the couples by thrice with the season 3 hosts Hot and Cold and newbie contestants Feather Duster and Moppy.
  • Put on the Bus:
    • Bad went missing for three episodes after "Challenge Not? 4" due to performing a Heroic Sacrifice to save Good. He returns in "Good On The Inside" when Planky recovered him by slicing Good's head open.
    • Blender, Blueberry, Fidget Spinner, Frisbee, Muggy, Pearly, Pebble, Table and Tomato want nothing to do with another season of Object Cringe because of Brainy (Pebble's reason was The Alliance before they change their mind) but didn't anticipate Hot banishing them to an unknown location.
  • Running Gag: Good would use his powers to temporarily scramble the contestants into crudely drawn versions of themselves when they talk back at him.
  • Saying Sound Effects Out Loud: Happens a lot due to the homemade sound effects.
  • Sdrawkcab Speech: Emit Noitanimile, anyone?
  • Sealed Inside a Person-Shaped Can:
  • Series Finale: Initially episode 20 of Object Cringe, appropriately named "Goodbye To A World", concluded the series as a whole (including Object Cringe Again) before Clanky changed his mind and picked up OCA and a third season.
  • Where the Hell Is Springfield?: The competition grounds are located on an unknown island, free from civilization barring the contestants and the hosts. The only distinctive features on the island are the Big Cheese structure and the forest and ocean near it.

Brainy kills the contestants

After what they've put him through, he finally retaliates by murdering them all (except Note and Planky).
