This Fight Are Just FOR FUN

On a nice sunny day, both Ben Tennyson and Naruto Uzumaki meet up in an empty field in a forest for a friendly spar. As the fight begins, the two of them have the time of their lives.

"Ben 10 VS Naruto" is a 4-minute fan-animated short, created by Baqash Animates. It is first posted on October 24, 2022. The link to the video is here.

The following tropes are:

  • Ambiguous Situation: Is Ben in Naruto's world or is it the other way around? Other than that, it's also unknown when they met and how they got acquainted with each other.
  • Blood Knight: Both Ben and Naruto show this aspect throughout their spar, leading to them escalating things by busting out stronger transformations and Ninjutsu respectively.
  • Casting Gag: There's something funny about Naruto having a rivalry with both characters voiced by Yuri Lowenthal.
  • Catching the Speedster: Often at various points in their spar, Ben is able to keep up with Naruto's Super-Speed and land some good hits.
  • Charles Atlas Superpower: While Naruto is naturally stronger and faster than Ben due to his Chakra-enhanced physiology, his lifelong ninja training enables him to trade blows with many of Ben's more durable transformations like Chromastone and keep up with speedster aliens like Fasttrack.
  • Confusion Fu: Both of their fighting styles can be summed up as chaotic with little consistency, but that doesn't stop them from being great fighters in their own right.
  • Excuse Plot: The entire spar that Ben and Naruto undergo in the animated short had no build-up whatsoever. This is intentional by the animator in order to have the characters duke it out for fun without getting into other implications.
  • Food End: The animated short ends with Ben asking Naruto if he wants to get a smoothie, only for the latter to have a better idea; eating at Rāmen Ichiraku.
  • Friendly Rivalry: Both Ben and Naruto respect each other's abilities and skills.
  • Let's Get Dangerous!: Once they get more intense as the spar goes on, Ben transformed into Way Big and Naruto responds with Asura Kurama Mode. In turn, Ben transformed Way Big into Ultimate Way Big and both he and Naruto engage in a Behemoth Battle in close combat before resorting to their Finishing Move that ended with neither combatant a winner.
  • Minimalist Cast: Only Ben and Naruto appear in the animation, with none of the other characters being present or mentioned.
  • Mythology Gag: The Friendly Rivalry displayed between Ben and Naruto is a subtle nod to Naruto and Sasuke's rivalry in the Naruto manga, with Yuri Lowenthal (Ben's voice actor) providing the voice for Sasuke in the dub.
  • Power Creep, Power Seep: Invoked by the animator. Despite the fight showcasing Ultimate Alien era Ben and Post-4th Shinobi War Naruto (without the missing arm, of course), neither of the duo gets the advantage over the other in their fight. Then again, the two of them were only having a friendly spar that slowly escalated from there, but neither of them truly wants to harm the other.
  • Strong and Skilled: While both of them are this, it's moreso on Naruto's end in comparison to Ben's. Relative to Ben, Naruto possesses greater power in the form of Chakra in addition to lifelong physical and combat training to become a ninja and Had to Be Sharp in a more unforgiving world despite the fragile peace at the time until the 4th Great Shinobi War happened. As seen in their fight, Naruto displays a greater understanding of fighting techniques compared to Ben's more Taught by Experience fighting style, even when the latter was using his alien transformations.
  • Transformation Is a Free Action: Justified due to their fight being a friendly spar, as Naruto could've interrupted any of Ben's transformations by preventing him from tapping the sigil and Ben's transformation into other alien forms happening in an instant.
  • Ultimate Showdown of Ultimate Destiny: Parodied. As Ben and Naruto are only having a friendly spar, even with they start getting serious.
  • Unskilled, but Strong: Downplayed for Ben in comparison to Naruto. While Ultimate Alien era Ben is a skilled enough hand-to-hand combatant who can fight without entirely relying on the Ultimatrix, is quick enough to react to laser guns, along with being experienced with fighting in whatever alien transformations he picked, and can cycle through them up in an instant, it's still clear that Naruto is the better fighter out of the two due to his intense physical and combat training, large-reserves of Chakra, a large arsenal of jutsu, and battle experience from living in a harsher environment where children are being taught to become assassins. That's not also getting into the fact that he's pretty much a Physical God thanks to him being a fully realized Jinchūriki, the reincarnation of Ashura Ōtsutsuki, and gaining the Six Paths Sage Mode from Hagoromo Ōtsutsuki himself. As seen throughout their fight, Ben's painfully obvious Taught by Experience fighting style through the use of his alien transformations is greatly contrasted by Naruto's use of actual martial arts techniques.
  • The Worf Effect: Justified. Throughout the entire fight, Ben and Naruto remain on equal footing with neither of them being the decisive winner by the end. However, it's only due to the nature of the fight being a friendly spar with neither of the duo wanting to seriously harm the other, especially in Naruto's case as he's a trained and hardened Shinobi with Super-Speed going up against a slower and relatively less hardened fighter, Ben.
