The 'distortions' the Queen introduces to the world are tropes.
Much like another goddess, the Queen is invariably connected to all of her story's dramatic and fantastical aspects. Even when she tries to act human, she warps the real into the unrealistic and furthers subplots.

In her previous life, the Colorless Little Girl was named Katerina.
Her brother's personal name for her Material side is "RQ Cat", siblings often have names starting with the same initial, and it may explain his preference for Western names. Perhaps Natsuginu was a Russian otaku?

The White Queen will turn out to be Good All Along, while the Three are the actual villains of the series
It's repeatedly hinted throughout the series (e.g. the end of Volume 1) that the White Queen will ultimately end up with Kyousuke, which raises the question of how such a relationship can develop if the former is actually a Yandere Eldritch Abomination. True, this series comes from the same author who made Touma x Othinus work, but there's important differences between the two stories. While Othinus' treatment of Touma is infinitely worse than anything the White Queen has done to Kyousuke, Othinus initially saw Touma as no more than an annoyance and he was aware of this, whereas the White Queen has claimed to be in love with Kyousuke from the start. Personally, I believe there's no way for the White Queen to be a viable love interest without revealing her to be Good All Along. In this theory, she isn't merely giving Kyousuke chances to win when he opposes her, but is actually making sure that he wins. This is supported by her actively supporting Kyousuke on several occasions, and at one point outright stating that she wants nothing more than for him to succeed.

So why, then, is the White Queen acting the way she is? My theory is that the Three top Unexplored-Class Materials, the Red-Eyed Lady, the Wicked Green Woman and the Spirit of the Fluttering Yellow Gills, are manipulating her to suit their own plans. They convinced her that, since Kyousuke sees her as an irredeemably evil monster who has to be killed at all costs, the only way to keep him happy is for her to act in that manner. The reason why the White Queen's own thoughts (as shown in her POV sections) appear to be evil, is that she altered her own mind in order to keep up the act, as she couldn't bear to hurt Kyousuke otherwise. The Three are also manipulating Kyousuke by fueling his desire for revenge (e.g. the Red-Eyed Lady telling him that she believes he can defeat the White Queen; the Yellow Gills showing him a memory which, in this theory, is altered to make the White Queen look worsenote ). Their ultimate goal is in fact exactly the same as that of the human villains of Volume 5 - to obtain the White Queen's power. To do this, they led Kyousuke to create the Colorless Little Girl and led the White Queen into losing to the Colorless Little Girl on purpose, handing over her power.

My prediction is that eventually the Three will succeed in stealing the White Queen's power, reducing her to the level of a human. Kyousuke would be utterly broken at the revelation that everything he fought for is a lie. Then the White Queen would end up becoming the new protagonist, turning the series into an actual example of a normal human (with no supernatural powers at all) fighting against invincible godlike beings.

  • To say nothing of how, if it turns out that the Queen is truly irredeemable, Doctor S's plots will be morally justified. 'He was right to make a child his personal weapon' isn't really consistent with the series' themes.
  • Volume 8 also has Kyousuke forgive and try to save the Colorless Little Girl, despite her situation being basically the same as the White Queen. This further supports the idea that he's being manipulated into hating the White Queen.

The series will end with Sealed Evil in a Duel
Kyousuke has demonstrated through the series that he's the only one who can defeat The White Queen, and this is because she's in love with him and lets him win. Thus, it follows that he's the only one who can seal her away permanently; a reverse Sewn Realm Summoning method. It will involve him acting as the substance of the seal itself. He will see this as a Heroic Sacrifice to prevent the Queen from causing anymore trouble and anyone else from summoning her to cause trouble with her power. She will see this as a Happily Ever After for herself and her beloved, because he didn't want to share her time and attention with anyone else.

Kyosuke's final battle against the Queen will not be fought alone.
The story has been less about Kyousuke himself than the exceptional humans he's met along the way. Lu Niang, Claude, Sekurtiti- even Biondetta hasn't completely lost her humanity to the Queen's influence. Volume 7 actually pivots around Kyousuke convincing Olivia of the Queen's true nature. And it's stated that The Power of Friendship is the only way anyone can muster enough courage to fight her (as when Madam Professor sacrificed herself to save him). The real plot is about Kyousuke strengthening the humanity of people around him and guiding them to a stage where the Queen can be beaten once and for all.

The White Queen is literally Kyousuke's non-blood related younger sister
As revealed in Volume 5, the White Queen was in love with Kyousuke from their first meeting and called him "brother" even then. A possible explanation comes from Volume 7, which reveals Kyousuke's family life, including the fact that he had a younger sister, whom he doesn't remember much about. The White Queen may have in fact been said sister. The "non-blood related" part is based on the fact that she's presented as a love interest for Kyousuke. As for how she became the way she is now, there are several possible explanations. She may have discovered Doctor S' plans to groom Kyousuke as an elite summoner, and he threw her out to prevent her interfering, causing her to make a Deal with the Devil to become a Material so she could save Kyousuke. Alternatively, Doctor S may have sold her off as a guinea pig to one of his Mad Scientist colleagues, who experimented on her and turned her into a Material. Regardless of how it happened, Kyousuke's father then stepped up his "training" to make sure that Kyousuke didn't pay much attention to his sister's disappearance. The White Queen was sent back in time, possibly as a result of becoming a Material, creating a Stable Time Loop (already shown to be possible in Volume 2) where she she was seen by Doctor S in 1999 and accidentally caused him to train Kyousuke to control her. The White Queen lost her memories when she became a Material, and regained them upon seeing Kyousuke again. Alternatively, she did retain her memories, but the knowledge that she accidentally caused Kyousuke to suffer made her refuse to reveal her true origin.
  • In Volume 8, it's noted that Olivia's mother has been a vessel so long that it's warped her appearance into ethereal beauty. (Kyousuke specifically compares her to the White Queen.) Is it possible that the same thing happened to the WQ, on such a level that Kyousuke couldn't recognize her when they met in the Garden?
  • Jossed. Biondetta asks if they're blood-related in volume 9 and the Queen answers no.

The setting is an alternate Creation.
Exalted describes the Primordials, giant Eldritch Abominations so vast that they have many souls instead of one. These "fetich" souls are sapient, unique beings in their own right, and physically independent from "their" Primordial. In the same way that humans have dilemmas, a Primordial's fetich souls may conflict and even fight with each other. The book Lands of Creation describes an extreme case of this;
...where one of the gods' fiercest opponents died in battle, betrayed by his own fetich.
Inari Heart-of-Thorns was the fetich demon of a Primordial [...] She was the compassion of a being that only hated, the care of one who was thoughtless. By containing these aspects within his fetich- his heart- the Primordial's cruel creativity grew a thousandfold and made him impossible to defeat. His rampage ended here, where Inari Heart-of-Thorns stood in defiance. She and the Exalted slew the Primordial there.
Which sounds similar to the Thirteen Siblings Project. Kyosuke is not just the object of the White Queen's love- he is her love, just as Biondetta is her fury and the Black Maw is her shadow. All of the above are independent beings, yet they are spiritually connected and they are strongest when embracing their original identities/roles. Kyosuke doesn't save people because he wants to (although he usually does want to), he does it because it's who he is. It's not a choice. He can't stop himself from answering the "cursed words", any more than water can fall upward. As Biondetta puts it in volume 3:
"Your ‘help me’ syndrome is a role the powerful White Queen was supposed to play, isn’t it? She is summoned because people seek her, she fights because she is called upon, she saves every last life through absolute victory, and even the enemy bows down to her after the battle. She is supposed to be a saint who saves two hundred when trying to save one hundred."
In canon, the Siblings are said to have been influenced by the WQ's emotions rather than embodiments of them, but this may be a mistake on the expositor (Biondetta)'s part. We know that the WQ and Kyousuke felt drawn to each other long before they entered the Garden, which is unusual in human-Material relationships. The most likely 'answer' is that both characters are more than they appear to be.In this light, the WQ's madness also makes sense. She tries to imitate love, but is incapable of the actual feeling- so the closest she can get is a sort of jealous, loveless desire. But she still wants to be with Kyousuke, because she remembers how happy she was when he was unified with her- who doesn't enjoy love, after all? It's also meaningful that Kyousuke literally acts as the WQ's conscience when she beats up Azalea.

TL;DR: The White Queen is a Primordial and Kyousuke is one of her fetich souls. Similarly to Inari, he rebelled against "his" Primordial.
