  • Seemingly Jossed since it doesn't look like we're likely to get any more DLC for the first game, but we can speculate that many if not all of these species may be part of the roster for Jurassic World Evolution 2 (either included in the base game or, more likely, as DLC in the case of many). Amargasaurus, Coelophysis, and Mosasaurus at least look to be confirmed, they can be recognized among the species seen in the announcement trailer and screenshots.

Feathered and Triassic Dinosaurs
Finally, the franchise will feature more scientifically accurate up-to-date dinosaurs, either by default or by letting players genetically give them realistic features (for example plumage). Furthermore, Triassic dinosaurs will be prominently featured and have a bigger role (apart from the Herrerasaurus in Telltale Games Jurassic Park: The Game). This game will also take cues from other dinosaur video games like Ark Survival Evolved, The Stomping Land, The Isle, Saurian, Mesozoica, Prehistoric Kingdom, Zoo Tycoon and Primal Carnage.
  • Confirmed for at least one Triassic dinosaur: Herrerasaurus is included in the Carnivore Dinosaur Pack.
    • The sequel adds 1-2 additional Triassic animals: Coelophysis cinches for a definite #2, while Ichthyosaurus potentially counts since it lived in both the Triassic and Jurassic.
  • Jossed for the feathering: none of the animals shown thus far have any.
    • Optional feathering has been partially confirmed with the release of the Return to Jurassic Park DLC, which introduces the male JPIII Velociraptor as a variant skin (complete with head quills). Not much perhaps, but it's a start.
  • Post-JWE2 addition: there will be a dedicated Triassic Pack released as DLC to complement those so far, particularly adding an herbivore (probably Plateosaurus) and possibly one or two additional non-dinosaurs, which could very well mean the first-ever non-dinosaur land animals if a crocodilian of some kind (think Ornithosuchus or Postosuchus) is chosen.

Pterosaurs and Marine Animals
It's plausible, seeing as they have appeared a lot in previous installments and are very popular. The fact Pteranodon was featured prominently in the third and fourth movie, while Dimorphodon and Mosasaurus were the co-stars of Jurassic World increases the odds of an Aviary and a Lagoon aquarium. Furthermore, flying and marine reptiles were originally intended to appear in Jurassic Park: Operation Genesis, but were scrapped during development. This game, however, will rectify that mistake. They could also present a new challenge, given recent news from Fallen Kingdom you'd have to prevent them from escaping into the ocean or flying away from the island when an emergency happens.
  • Partially confirmed. The Pteranodon is included in the "Return to Jurassic Park" DLC.
  • Marine reptiles and a corresponding Lagoon enclosure are confirmed for the sequel.

Hybrids
Highly possible, if not outright confirmed. The Indominus rex was a major character in the film, and recent Jurassic World merchandise is filled with hybrid dinosaurs. The concept sure is popular amongst the fans, and even the game's website states that: Players will build their own Jurassic World as they bioengineer new dinosaur breeds and construct attractions, containment, and research facilities.
  • Confirmed. Indominus rex and Indoraptor are in the game. Spinoraptor, Stegoceratops and Ankylodocus have joined the game in the "Secrets of Dr. Wu" DLC pack. Also right for the Spinosaurus, which was actually a Spinosaurus/Tyrannosaurus rex hybrid (which in a way predates the Indominux rex in canon). To a lesser degree, all dinosaurs can be infused with genes from multiple other non-extinct animals.

Paleozoic and Cenozoic Animals
Why not? Most unlikely, but still not out of the question. If Ludia's Jurassic Park Builder and Jurassic World: The Game can have other prehistoric animals besides non-avian dinosaurs and pterosaurs, then why not this game as well? Doesn't have to be all in one package- they could be expansion packs, DLC, future updates, etc. Like most of everything else above, only time will tell if those will be included/added in the game as well.

Site B
There will be a site B mode like in Operation Genesis, but unlike that game, you will now have the option of creating males so the dinosaurs can reproduce in Jurassic World: Evolution.
  • Partly confirmed: along with the Muertes Archipelago, Isla Nublar will be included as a freeform sandbox with unlimited funds and access to all the content you've unlocked on the other islands.

Jurassic Park: Operation Genesis DLC
A later DLC pack will introduce all the missing dinosaurs from vanilla Jurassic Park: Operation Genesis—namely, Acrocanthosaurus, Albertosaurus, Carcharodontosaurus, Dryosaurus, Homalocephale, and Ouranosaurus—to help fill out its Spiritual Successor status. Bonus points if the dinosaurs cut from that game are added too, particularly Alioramus, Yangchuanosaurus, Iguanodon, Panoplosaurus, Thescelosaurus, Ornithomimus, Tenontosaurus, and Wuerhosaurus. Perhaps this pack will also bring back randomly generated maps like those in JPOG. It would probably include other bits and pieces of JPOG content as well.
  • Mostly confirmed: Carcharodontosaurus has been added in the "Cretaceous Dinosaurs Pack", along with the previously omitted Iguanodon and new addition Dreadnoughtus. Acrocanthosaurus is included in the "Carnivore Dinosaur Pack" alongside Herrerasaurus and Proceratosaurus. Albertosaurus and Ouranosaurus are included in the "Claire’s Sanctuary DLC" with Euoplocephalus. Dryosaurus and Homalocephale are included in the "Herbivore Dinosaur Pack" with Nigersaurus. The remaining Dummied Out species have yet to be added (Alioramus, Yangchuanosaurus, Ornithomimus, Thescelosaurus, Wuerhosaurus, Panoplosaurus and Tenontosaurus).
  • The "Return to Jurassic Park" DLC includes skins that allow several of the animals to more closely resemble their JPOG counterparts—particularly the raptors, which were based on the alpha female from Jurassic Park ///—and brings back Jurassic Park-era buildings which resemble those of JPOG, as opposed to the more futuristic look of the Jurassic World-era buildings.

The next DLC for the game will add Mosasaurus and Dimorphodon
At this point they're just about the only animals from the JP movie canon that have yet to be added, perhaps as part of a "Non-Dinosaurian Reptiles" DLC pack with several other marine reptiles and pterosaurs.
  • Jossed. The Mosasaurus, however, will appear in the sequel.

DLC inspired by Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous will be made.
Some of the things we would get in the DLC are the Treehouse, Zipline, a bioluminescent gene (Cosmetic), and maybe a blog (Based on Brooklynn's.) to help us better understand your guests' needs and wants.
  • Confirmed for the sequel, though it simply included Monolophosaurus, Scorpios rex, and new skin variants for the dinosaurs that appeared in the show.

The Alternate Timeline the game takes place is the same as Futurama.
The park is rebuilt and goes off without a hitch, even animals bred as bioweapons like I. Rex and Indoraptor being successfully kept happy and contained. Fast forward 2982 years, InGen has bred T. Rex docile enough to be housed in a petting zoo and can even be hand-fed (Though doing so incorrectly will result in Rex eating your hands, as Fry demonstrated.), as shown "I Dated a Robot."

Potential new features for Jurassic World Evolution 2 include...
  • Better customization for buildings and enclosures, perhaps having the option to construct them from individual pieces like in Planet Zoo.
  • This one's a long shot given the track record of the franchise so far (not to mention concerns about potential overlap with Prehistoric Kingdom) but...optional dinosaur models that are more accurate (up to and including feathers on certain theropods), perhaps with the dinosaurs looking like their standard Jurassic Park/World selves at 50% DNA and then becoming gradually more authentic as you unearth a more complete genome (or alternatively, just having optional cosmetic genes for accuracy that you can switch on or off).
  • A return to the different guest categories of Jurassic Park: Operation Genesis who have their own unique needs and entertainment preferences (this has been confirmed).
  • Since more non-dinosaurian reptiles have been confirmed (pterosaurs and marine reptiles having been mentioned), not to mention the fact that Lystrosaurus has been confirmed to appear in Jurassic World Dominion, maybe we'll get more terrestrial Mesozoic fauna besides dinosaurs such as various pseudosuchians and therapsids (Paleozoic and Cenozoic animals are also possible but fairly unlikely).
  • Bigger maps with more building space (this applies to all or most of the maps, not just Isla Nublar).
  • More hybrids (perhaps including the Scorpios Rex) and an option for players to create their own completely original hybrids by splicing different base dinosaurs.
    • More specifically, every canon hybrid, (Indominus, Indoraptor, Scorpios, and technically Stegoceratops) one or two returning from Secrets of Dr. Wu, (Spinoraptor is popular enough to be a shoo-in, not so much the Ankylodocus) and maybe some from elsewhere in the franchise, particularly the infamous Sayles script for Jurassic Park 4 or the Chaos Effect toyline. Getting a bit more out-there, some of them could be deliberate throwbacks to early paleontology where dinosaurs were taken as being much more fantastical-looking; think the Crystal Palace Iguanodon and Megalosaurus.
  • A fifth bonus game mode loosely based off of JPOG's "Site B" mode, except with dinosaurs running wild across the North American wilderness.
  • Additional scenery items to add flavor to both visitor areas and exhibits, the likes of ruined buildings or wrecked vehicles, ideally based on the films with a few extras.
  • More ride options, such as a return of the balloon ride from JPOG and at least one boat ride—the rafts from both the novel and Jurassic Park: The Ride come to mind, but also the kayaks from Jurassic World.
  • "Fantastic powers" for most (ideally all) of the dinosaurs, basically extrapolating the dilophosaurs' spitting and the Indominus' adaptive camouflage. These would ideally be based on the larger franchise and otherwise on well-known examples from living animals—think bioluminescence, (think Camp Cretaceous) adaptive camouflage to more animals, (allowing us to finally have camouflaging carnotaurs like in the novel) a separate color-change ability like chameleons where it indicates their mood rather than being a hunting ability, and maybe even allowing more animals to spit like the dilophosaurs and even give them frills while, conversely, taking that away from the dilos.
  • Feather options. With the official explanation of the null gene in mind to justify the Grandfather Clause of none of the dinosaurs being feathered, the teaser for Jurassic World: Dominion indicates that feathered dinosaurs will be appearing in the film even if they're not actually the contemporary cloned animals and that would surely make a demand for the option to make them have feathers in-game.
  • Variable size options. Less likely than some others just because of how the game would likely function, but this would be a good way to simulate different age groups to the dinosaurs, similar but distinct species, (such as scaling the raptors down to their real-world counterparts) and "correcting" a few others such as by making the dilophosaurs bigger.
  • Mixing and matching assets from different eras. Instead of making the Jurassic Park and Jurassic World content more or less mutually-exclusive, they'll be made alternate skins of common building and vehicle types, such as having one unified car tour which can use the Park Tour or Jurassic Tour vehicles and maybe some others.
    • Confirmed, gameplay footage shows that the new customization tools for buildings include options for both Park and World era aesthetics.
  • Procedurally-generated maps. Hearkening back to JPOG, there will be the option to make randomized maps using the forthcoming biomes, just a big square of land with a shared horizon for each biome, while still having a sandbox mode for the obligatory campaign levels.
  • Feel free to pitch in with any more potential features you can think of, fellow tropers.

"Chaos Theory mode" in Jurassic World Evolution 2
  • Jurassic Park
    • Averting the Jurassic Park Incident. Either Nedry is discovered early and stopped, possibly at the last minute as the disaster is starting to unfold but before the worst happens, or the reset of the park goes better so the raptors don't escape and you have to restore order before completing and opening the park.
      • Confirmed, although it appears the generic "scientists" present in the other game modes will be taking Nedry's place (at least if you neglect to keep them happy).
  • The Lost World
    • Jurassic Park San Diego is successfully opened. A basic park-building level, possibly involving the recapture of some escaped dinosaurs in the city. It would also be excellent pretense to include a "city biome" for sandbox mode.
      • At least partially confirmed, the closing shot of the pre-order trailer clearly shows the JP San Diego amphitheatre.
      • A developer's diary also shows JP San Diego too.
  • Jurassic Park ///
    • A new park is secretly built on Isla Sorna by Masrani (confirmed by viral marketing and expanded universe content) with a theme being to balance the existing ecology of Sorna with the new creations.
    • In 1999, Ingen returns to Sirna to make new dinosaurs, hence how we got Spinosaurus, Ceratosaurus, and Corythosaurus in the filom when they weren't there before.
  • Jurassic World
    • Averting the Jurassic World Incident, possibly focused on trying again with the Indominus and doing it right, with a lesson about animal welfare being at the core.
      • Confirmed (minus the animal welfare Green Aesop, but given the source material and the Campaign Mode having a similar Aesop we can likely expect it in any case).
  • Fallen Kingdom
    • Since Claire's Sanctuary already exists, this could be about Lockwood surviving and having an initial park for the rescued dinosaurs built on his own property, maybe even retrieving them from those they were sold to at the auction. Averting the death of the Indoraptor and rehabilitating it is also a possibility.
  • Dominion
    • Chances are this wouldn't be different enough from Campaign Mode to warrant inclusion, but we'll have to wait until the film releases to be sure.

Compies in Evolution 2 will display their Zerg Rush behaviour from the films.
  • And be much more of a threat to guests and other dinosaurs as a result. Given the deeper behaviour promised by the game (pack hunting in particular), this wouldn't be unreasonable to expect.

The T. rex in JWE2 will have a victory animation referencing its "When Dinosaurs Ruled the Earth" pose from the first movie.
  • For one, it's an obvious step to completing the raptor-killing animation already present in the Return to Jurassic Park DLC of the first game.

Gigantspinosaurus was included entirely to troll players who wouldn't be familiar with it
While it's a legitimate fossil species, its name just sounds too much like a made-up species or a hybrid of Giganotosaurus and Spinosaurus to have been included aside from just to be another stegosaur in the game.
