What happened to Sam?
It's been confirmed that Sam won't be returning for the revival. Post your theories about what happened to her below:

There will be a Take That! to shippings with Freddie that have dominated long-time iCarly fans
Because why not? This revival will inevitably deconstruct or make fun of elements that were common in the original. Harper or someone in his circle we haven't seen before the revival will somehow find old shipping photos of Freddie with Carly online and will attempt to inquire Freddie about it. When she shows them to Freddie, he will give a flustered look and say something like: "Not a f*cking word, Harper" as a way to show how overplayed the shipping was, and an opportunity for him to drop an F-Bomb due to the new liberties this show has being an adult comedy.
  • The F-Bomb part seems unlikely, as the show seems to be sticking to less hard swears ("damn", "hell", "ass", "crap", "bitch") but it's possible that they may take the profanity up a notch as the series progresses.

Cat Valentine will appear at some point
Ariana Grande will reprise her role of Cat Valentine in a guest appearance and will give more details on what happened to Sam between Sam & Cat and this show. There may even be some Reality Subtext regarding the rumored tensions between Jennette and Ariana, with Sam and Cat having had a falling out resulting in their babysitting business going kaput, Cat going on to become a successful singer while Sam struggles with her life, and so forth.

Nora and Lewbert will get married
Their actors are married in real life, and both characters are psychotic messes. It may even play out similarly to "iRobot Wedding", where it seems like the wedding is a sham to trick Freddie into marrying Nora, only for this to not be the case.
  • Likely jossed as of season three, where Lewbert and Mrs. Benson are planning their wedding. Though it's possible that they may not go through with it.

Sam will return at some point
Highly unlikely due to Jennette McCurdy trying to distance herself from acting, but it's possible that Sam will reappear at some point, be it a guest appearance, Back for the Finale, or even The Other Darrin.
  • If they take the The Other Darrin route, they could justify it through Sam needing plastic surgery after some terrible accident damaged her face; considering how she rubs so many people the wrong way, she could have easily gotten into some kind of fight and used the opportunity to basically disguise herself while undergoing treatment.
    • If they went the plastic surgery route, they could have Annie DeFatta who played the Sam look-alike in iLook Alike play Sam.
  • Alternately, it's possible that they may use AI/deepfake technology to bring back Jennette McCurdy, but doing so would require her permission (which is unlikely given the circumstances) and might be too expensive/time consuming for a show like this.
  • If the show hadn’t been canceled on a massive cliffhanger, they could have had Andrew Hill Newman playing Andy McStein playing Sam.

Carly and Harper will eventually start dating

This show will have a cross over with the upcoming Frasier revival
Both will be on Paramount+ and both take place in Seattle (assuming the new Frasier will still be set in Seattle that is.) As for how it could work, well, that's up to the writers. Perhaps Niles and Daphne's son was a fan of iCarly (though that might be stretching it since David Crane would only have been three when iCarly came about.)
  • Likely jossed, the new Frasier will take place in Boston (where Frasier lived in Cheers.) Not to mention that Frasier exists as a TV show in-universe according to "iGo Public".

Spencer now owns the Bushwell Plaza
Spencer's apartment looks much different than in the original show due to him remodeling it after amassing his wealth. But the hallway outside the level 8 apartments also looks different. Seems unlikely that the hallways would be redone...unless the building was sold to a new owner. Since Spencer said that he now owns his apartment when he was previously renting it and there's no sign of Lewbert or any other landlord, it's possible that Spencer took the wealth he made and purchased the entire Bushwell building as an investment.
  • And apparently Jossed in "iLove Gwen", which makes mention of a separate landlord who isn't Spencer. However, the theory about Bushwell being sold still has water since Lewbert is explicitly no longer the doorman.

Sam was Freddie's other wife
While not outright stated, it is implied that Gwen was Freddie's second wife. His first wife's identity is unknown as of this writing, but based on their interactions, it almost certainly wasn't Carly. Which leaves Sam as the likely candidate. Some Seddie was teased in the Sam & Cat episode "#TheKillerTunaJump" with the end featuring Sam asking Freddie to have dinner with her once he recovered from his injuries. Sometime after the events of said episode, the two rekindled their love and got married. However, the marriage would likely be short-lived and very toxic, with the divorce being what led Sam to run off and join the Obliterators.

This show will give Victorious a Fully Absorbed Finale
Assuming that Victorious doesn't eventually get a revival of its own, of course.

Carly's mom's absence will be addressed, and it will reveal that Carly and Spencer are actually half-siblings with different mothers.
The whereabouts of Carly's mom was teased in "iStart Over". Hopefully, this means they will address it at some point. As pointed out on the Practically Different Generations (and the WMG page for the original iCarly), the large age gap between Carly and Spencer makes it unlikely (but not impossible) that they're full siblings, and are likely paternal half-siblings (same father, different mothers).
  • Half-confirmed, half-jossed in "iHave a Proposal". Carly and Spencer finally talk about their mom (apparently, she abandoned the family), but both address her as "Mom", so that likely josses the half-sibling theory.

The gang severed ties with Gibby because he told Nora where Sam lived
They probably decided it didn't matter how much history they had with him, someone that stupid was a threat to their safety and they didn't want anything to do with him anymore.
  • It's possible that they have forgiven him, since in the episode "iObject, Lewbert!", when Carly gets sued by Lewbert, Guppy talks about Gibby. When his picture pops up, Carly and Spencer yell out his name positively, just like in the original show. The fact that Nora no longer wants to kill them probably helps.

Gibby severed ties with the iCarly gang because of Sam
Next to Freddie, Gibby was Sam's favorite punching bag, and when she and Freddie started dating, she started beating up Gibby instead. If Gibby ever returns, he will admit that over the years, he started to feel some resentment over it and didn't appreciate how Carly (and Freddie when it wasn't him on the receiving end) enabled her behavior, and Sam being Put on a Bus didn't change anything.

Chuck Chambers will have a larger role in the future.
Following his return in "iObject, Lewbert!", it would be great if he had a bigger appearance in a future episode. Here's an idea of what they could do: not only will Chuck show up, but we'll also get to see his entire family as well, including his father, sister, and Chip. For starters, they'll tell everyone the truth about his history with the Shays, someone could even give him a "Reason You Suck" Speech (be it his father, sister, or Carly), only to have Chuck finally snap and once again insist that everything was Spencer's fault and make a move to finish him off once and for all. The episode would end with him either dying or getting carted off to prison. (Bonus points if we get a teaser with Chip or him calling someone off-screen plotting revenge.)

Mrs. Shay will be played by.....
  • Courteney Cox is a popular choice by the fans. Miranda and Jerry even support this suggestion.
