    Pre-Release
Mike Schmidt will be officially identified as an alias for Michael Afton in the film's continuity.
  • Jossed. Mike Schmidt in this continuity is completely unrelated to William Afton.

Certain prolific online creators connected to the franchise will cameo
Most likely MatPat or Markiplier.
  • If I recall correctly, Mark refused to participate due to starring and directing his own film, and it's unlikely Matt will make it either.
    • I wouldn't say "refused," he was just busy. I'm sure he would have appeared if he had the time.
  • Dawko, however, visited the set.
  • Confirmed, but not Mark or Matpat. Cory plays a taxi driver in the official trailer.
    • Other prominent FNAF content creators Dawko, FusionZGamer, 8-BitRyan, DJ Sterf, Baz and Razzbowski also cameo via photos on an Employees of the Month board.
    • Markiplier has confirmed he almost made a cameo, but scheduling conflicts got in the way.
      • It's also possible this is one of Scott's classic trolling moves, with Mark being in on it. But if it isn't, that doesn't stop the possibility of Markiplier having a smaller cameo, like his photo being on some employee document or newspaper, which is much easier to do than having him appear on set.
      • It's been confirmed that Mark was meant to play the guard in the opening of the film.
    • Matt appears in the film as a waiter, complete with his (in)famous “That’s just a theory”.

The doctor/therapist will not believe Michael about the animatronics coming to life.
It'd not be a thriller/horror/similar type of movie without at least one person acting this way. They'll pass it off as a kid being a kid with a wild imagination. As an adult, they'll just think he's crazy.
  • Jossed. Mike never talks to a doctor or therapist and the only people he does talk to about the animatronics already know they're "alive".
The movie will go into detail about Michael and William's backstory.
Of course it'd be the film's take and not the games, books, etc.

William Afton will be a Composite Character of the game's Afton and Henry Emily.

William plans to transfer Elizabeth's soul into Abby's body.
  • Jossed. William doesn't even know about Abby until 'after' Abby becomes friends with the animatronics.
Mike Schmidt is actually Sammy Emily.
After Elizabeth Afton's death, William attempted to use Charlotte Emily as a vessel for his daughter's soul, but the process wasn´t yet perfect, so it didn't work. Henry feared that William would try to repeat the process with his baby daughter, so he fled and changed his and his surviving children's identities.

The film is going to be much more grounded than the main franchise.
Scott likely realized what was wrong with this whole "remnant, faz-goo and time traveling ball pits" stuff and decided to tone the sci-fi elements down, as he originally planned back in 2015, when we only had 3 games.

Mike will take a level in badass and defeat the animatronics in-person.
Mike will get the Adaptational Badass treatment with him defeating the animatronics. The next day, when Mr. Afton finds out about the damage, he is furious and he fires Mike on the spot. He doesn't care though because now he doesn't have to worry about working at such a horrible and dead-end job anymore.
Vanessa is an Early-Bird Cameo of Vanny
Vanny, in Security Breach, is a seemingly lone security guard at the Pizzaplex, who turns out to be Springtrap's assistant. In this, we have William Afton appear... and a police officer who happens to also be called Vanessa. I do not think that it's a coincidence...
  • Partially confirmed. While she doesn't use the Vanny costume, she does have the same conflicting orders as Vanny, both being required to observe Mike and dispose of him if he gets too close to discovering the truth.

The Puppet will make an appearance.
Seeing as how in the original game series, the Puppet gave life to the animatronics, it would make sense for her to make an appearance in the film as the one responsible for giving life to the animatronics in the film continuity as well.
  • If I’m remembering correctly FNAF 2 confirmed the puppet was hiding in the Pizzeria in FNAF 1 so maybe there could be a cameo or something similar.
  • It would be cool if The Puppet made a cameo at the end of the film, hinting at FNAF 2.
  • We know that she has a voice actress, so it's likely that this might occur.
  • The IMDb was vandalized, as Puppet never actually appears in the film, jossing the statement.

A late-movie plot twist will be that Abby is Dead All Along.
So, this Mike could be that Michael, and he has a younger sister named Abby. Fans have noted that Abby is a obscure possible nickname for Elizabeth, and is an anagram of 'Baby.' If she is the film counterpart of Elizabeth, then she was Spared by the Adaptation.

Unless, of course, it's a plot twist that Abby died at some point before the movie began, and we've been seeing her ghost the entire time. This might explain the teaser image showing (Golden?) Freddy and Abby holding hands outside of the building, as well as the real explanation as to why Abby is in the pizzeria after dark. The trailer also showcases a bizarre Saw trap version of Freddy, which could mean that we'll see something similar to the Funtimes, which in turn could mean that Baby exists in some form in the movie.

  • Adding on to this, a sequence in the trailer shows Mike surrounded by a group of five kids in clothing colored similarly to the Animatronics. If it is a dream sequence, Mike might actually be able to see the Animatronics' ghost children for some reason, but is unaware of their connection.
  • Another possibility, as presented below, that this film is actually an in-universe movie that was created, basically changing the story from the true one (much like the story behind the VR game and how the company tried to deny the "true story" aspect of the first few games as being the wild imagination of a vindictive video game programmer). And what you're seeing is an in-universe fictional version of Mike that is heavily changed from the real life version of him, which may also include a change in the story for Abby also.

A Sequel Hook might have Mike learn that There Is Another location owned by William he needs to visit, which happens to be the location where the animatronic associated with Abby is housed.

  • The Dead All Along part, at least, is Jossed — the first trailer shows Vanessa acknowledging Abby's existence in real time, since she tells Mike that the animatronics want to "make her like them".

The film is not an adaptation of the actual story of the games, but is actually an in-universe film.
Much like how the VR game is basically a retelling of the FNAF games in-universe, the film is a retelling of the story that is actually an in-universe film itself.

Springtrap won't appear in this film as a major character, but will be saved for a future sequel if the movie does well.
Seeing as how William Afton is still alive, Springtrap will make an appearance in a sequel film in an adaptation of the third game. It's still possible for the Spring Bonnie costume to make an appearance with Afton using it, however.

Adding on to this theory, the Toys, Funtimes, Salvages, and Rockstars could also appear in future sequels. The only aversion would possibly be the Nightmares.

  • A Springtrap image did leak in March 2023, so it is very possible at the very least he could get a cameo at the end or so of this movie or the next.
  • The June 27th trailer shows Springtrap walking down the hall, with a knife and humming the Toreador March.

The Animatronics are actually trying to protect Abby.
While this is probably a different continuity, we can infer that the animatronics are still the spirits of William Afton's child victims and that in the games, while they are murderously hostile toward adults they're apparently great with kids and since Abby is a child would they want to hurt her? I think not. I think the major twist will be while they're extremely aggressive towards Mike, they will actually by kind to Abby and want to save her from their fates. Especailly since Afton is in this movie.
  • Kind of unlikely seeing as the animatronics were trying to target Abby, although Golden Freddy might be an exception.
  • Partially confirmed. They're friendly and kind to Abby, initially in order to make her into another animatronic, until she persuades them to turn on William Afton, whereupon they do protect her.

Abby will play a role similar to Gregory
She is seen holding Golden Freddy's hand in the trailer. If we're to assume he's helping her out against the rest of the gang like Glamrock Freddy does with Gregory, she might do things such as hide inside of him (if he is a composite of himself and Fredbear, who is a springlock suit) or try to repair him if he can't move as easily as he could with teleportation in the first game.

Alternatively, Golden Freddy uses an illusion disc to make Abby believe he's Mike
Which in relation to the above, would make the "Glamrock Freddy is actually Michael" theory either Hilarious in Hindsight or Harsher in Hindsight, depending on what his intentions with Abby will be.

If Mike does turn out to be Michael Afton, William's relation to him won't be revealed until nearing the end of the film
He might just show up as a head of security or a different employee that Mike never gets to meet, until near the end where whilst looking for the source of the Animatronics' behaviors, he reunites with his father.

Similar to the "Abby is a ghost" theory, William will be revealed to be some supernatural creature
Perhaps he died and revived as he did in the games, looking human the same way Abby does thanks to some sci-fi explanation. Or perhaps he's replacing bits of himself with Animatronic pieces and using something to appear normal. Or perhaps in a twist relating to Sister Location, he replaced all his organs with an endoskeleton, allowing him to keep killing off people without aging being a factor.

The film will actually take its course over five nights
Mike could begin the movie taking Abby with him and everything seems to work fine, with some hints something's wrong going unnoticed. The second night would have the Animatronics acting erratic near the end of the shift, with Mike alerting his employer, only to be brushed off. Abby would get kidnapped during the third night, leaving Mike to wake up next morning outside with no sign of her at home. The fourth night would have Mike fighting to get his sister back, leaving the fifth and final night to be him busting the Purple Guy out.
  • Confirmed, not in the way that was described however.

Additionally, a possible sequel comic, short or any type of medium will be released, with references to the Custom Night
Taking place after the events of the film, it'd tie up loose ends over the course of the weekend.

William Afton and his family are American rather than British
This honestly seems very plausible considering who the actor for William is. Perhaps William is the only American, and his wife is British?

  • Or he could be hiding his accent. After all, if you were a murderer that didn't want to get caught, you'd probably want to disguise your voice.
  • Confirmed, he and Vanessa are American.

William Afton is not the killer
  • Jossed, he is.

The Living Tombstone FNAF 1 song will play over the end credits
  • Confirmed.

Mike will be captured by Animatronics
  • Confirmed.

Abby will become Golden Freddy
This is seeming likely. I think she is not Dead All Along, but perhaps dies in the movie at some point and becomes Golden Freddy.

  • Unlikely, as Golden Freddy explicitly appears in a few scenes in the trailer, and in said scenes he's standing next to Abby, and odds are high that one of the dead kids is already inhabiting him.
    • Jossed, she and Golden Freddy are different entities.

Max, Carl, and Hank are the parents of the missing children
The first 2-minute trailer shows these characters searching for something with Mike. In one scene, Max looks in Freddy's mouth before a child's hand shoots out of it toward her. She may be the mom of Gabriel (the spirit possessing Freddy). Hank's character is also referred to as "Uncle Hank" by his actor, possibly because he is the uncle to one of the missing children.

  • I had that same theory too, actually. I am betting we'll see that they did not survive the ordeal confronting the animatronics or going inside the building.

There will be a Springlocking scene
The trailer shows William Afton appearing to be alive in the present day. The same trailer shows Springlock/Spring Bonnie. The movie may end up similar to Five Nights at Freddy's: The Silver Eyes where Afton is introduced under a fake alias, uses the Spring Bonnie suit, and then gets Springlocked in front of the protagonists.
  • Confirmed.

In a bit of irony, Mike will become Golden Freddy either at the end or at some point in the movie
Rather than host an endoskeleton or an animatronic without a body, he might as well become the suit. That might be why Golden Freddy's seen with Abby in so many clips: he's not leading her into danger, but taking her to their new home now that he can no longer care for her as a human.
  • If such a thing happens, there might be a battle between William as Springtrap and Mike as Golden Freddy.
  • It would explain why she seems almost proud or otherwise happy entering a cab with a withered animatronic.

Vanessa is either an accomplice, manipulated or possessed by one of Afton's animatronics
She suggests in the trailer that the Animatronics want to make Abby like them, when the dead children would normally not want that. It's possible she's been misled by William, that she's deliberately demonizing them, or that William developed something like mind control software to make her do his bidding, as he does as Glitchtrap in Security Breach.
  • Partially confirmed. Vanessa even helps the animatronics in earning Abby's trust, and actually is fully aware, and is actually trying to cover for her father.

Golden Freddy is the nice one
We see Golden Freddy with Abby in clips, so it could be she convinces him to help her brother Mike deal with the Animatronics or even William Afton.

  • I second this wholeheartedly. He doesn't seem threatening like the other animatronics in the trailer, at least not towards Abby.
    • Jossed. He's as bad as anyone else, but only due Afton's influence.

Golden Freddy will be the Crying Child from FNAF 4

As another popular theory is that Michael Afton is the older brother in that game, building on that is the idea that the brother who died/got his head chomped stayed around to haunt Golden Freddy. This ties into the "it's me" flashes you get in the game, especially if Mike Schmidt turns out to be Michael Afton. Also, the shots of Golden Freddy holding Abby's hand could work even better if it turns out she's Elizabeth Afton in some way, so he's trying to reconnect with his sister, whether she's a ghost or not.

Of the animatronics, he's may be the one to decide to help Mike, trying to stop his father's killings so no more children have to suffer anymore. But he also realizes that the other animatronics go too far in killing adults who had nothing to do with any of it.

If the series continues on, other Youtube Personalities who contributed to the game's success will cameo
Possibly Markiplier as a random homeless guy muttering about 'the bite of 87.' Or Jacksepticeye could voice a custom animatronic with a joke that it was made to try and appeal to an Irish audience. Matpat could also show up as a conspiracy theorist who keeps coming up with timelines and scenarios to explain everything (some credible, others being portrayed as extremely far-fetched).
  • We already have Coryx Kenshin as a taxi driver from the trailer, so it could be possible.
  • Markplier had a literal scheduling conflict, which was the only reason he didn't appear in the first movie.

Scott Cawthon himself will cameo in the movie
Despite his very scarce media appearances, Scott will appear physically within the movie.
  • Bonus points if he’s in disguise.
  • He'll cameo as the Phone Guy. I'm calling it.
    • Jossed. Vanessa gives Mike the Phone Guy's advice, and the rest of his role is taken by William Afton.

Fan games will appear as a cameo in the movie
Some fan games may be referenced in the form of an in-universe bootleg merchandise, as a playful joke.
  • Does Sparky the Dog count?

The animatronics get withered half way through the movie
Some tussle may occur between the animatronics and human cast, causing them to get damaged in a way that makes them look like their FNAF 2 counterparts, and continue hunting everyone down like Security Breach.

  • That might explain why Golden Freddy looks his FNAF 2 counterpart, though it could be possible that he always looks like that.

Freddy will say the iconic "Are you ready for Freddy?" meme
Or similar/close to it, perhaps. Maybe we'll see other easter eggs with popular memes.

  • Adding on to this, we might get other memes from other animatronics referenced, such as the Chica "pizza" meme.

William Afton will get springlocked at some point in the movie.
We already got to see Springtrap in the June 27th trailer, so this implies Afton was wearing Springtrap at some point. We probably won't see him die on-screen since the film is rated PG-13, but we might hear William Afton get springlocked off-screen as a Gory Discretion Shot.
  • Confirmed.

The movie will be PG-13 in theaters and have an uncut version on Peacock and DVD
Without looking into any leaked details, I think a PG-13 rating in the theaters would make sense. When it launches onto Peacock it will have the unrated version and the PG-13 version.
  • Why would they have a separate, unrated version though? At best the DVD would have deleted/cut scenes but FNAF's demographic nowadays is 10 or older. Plus, don't unrated films usually have naughty content?

Mike's missing younger brother is either this continuity's Golden Freddy or part of him.
The website gives us more plot details. It turns out that Mike's younger brother had disappeared ten years prior, which remained unsolved to this day. Golden Freddy in the promotional material is often shown next to Abby, implying a link between them. If Mike is an Afton, this means that the Crying Child Dies Differently in Adaptation (which would have certain implications). Despite this, the canon link between CC and Golden Freddy could mean that he could be the soul inside him in this continuity. Alternately, the Golden Duo theory (the idea that Cassidy and CC are both inside Golden Freddy) is canon to the movie continuity.
  • Jossed, he and Golden Freddy are different beings, but still victims of William Afton.

Freddy will fight Bonnie at some point
It won't anything too serious, just enough of a fight to count as a reference to Scott's "Freddy vs Bonnie, it's the beginning of the Freddy cinematic universe" line from FNAF World

Vanessa is secretly working for William
He specifically hired her to watch out for Mike so he won't discover the secrets of the pizzeria. Adding to this, her voice tone when she says "It's too late, he's coming" sounds somewhat cheery than worried. And that frame on which William chokes her is because she failed the task, or perhaps underwent a Heel–Face Turn.
  • Confirmed. She's actually on orders to dispose of Mike if he gets too close to the truth, while also misdirecting him about what's really going on.

The Movie is a sequel to the original game
Jossed.

Vanessa will save Mike from being converted
Judging by the trailers, since Mike is being shackled and about to be sliced up by those saw blades in that Freddy Fazbear mask for possible conversion into an animatronic, Vanessa might pull a Big Damn Heroes moment by charging in and whacking the animatronics with a baseball bat, even destroying the saw blade mask.
  • Jossed. He manages to free himself on time by his own before the saws get him, but their objective for conversion wasn't him, it was Abby

    Post-Release
Cassidy's true identity
  • Note, the Blonde Boy was never named in the film, so Cassidy will be used as a placeholder. Cassidy's animatronic isn't Golden Freddy, but rather the Cupcake. Cassidy, like in the games, seems to be the most vengeful against William and seems to be the leader of the missing kids. So, you'd think Golden Freddy would be the one to do William in, but he didn't, the Cupcake did. So, maybe Cassidy was really possessing the cupcake.
    • Don’t we see Cassidy around Golden Freddy when he killed Jane?

Cassidy's true plan
  • Cassidy always seemed a little more aware than the other missing children. And regarding Abby, maybe this was his plan all along: Once Abby was converted, they would turn against William, having enough in numbers to overwhelm him. And it seems his plan did succeed, just not in the way he thought it would.

Despite everything else, Afton giving Mike the security job was, at first, a legitimate act of kindness.
  • Of course, just like everyone else who didn't just walk out, Mike started digging. And furthermore, brought his sister to work with him. It was only too tantalizing for someone like William to resist.

Balloon Boy is possessed
He seems to want Mike's attention. He keeps showing up where Mike can get a clear look at him. At the end, he takes a taxi to try to find Mike. And then at the end you can hear someone knocking on the door and then opening, showing perhaps the ghost of BB was the one who opened the door and knocked, explaining how the tiny toy got in the taxi.

Garret is the Cupcake
The Cupcake gets a lot of attention in this movie. It chews the face off a looter, it's the only animatronic to travel through the vents, and it's the one that kills William Afton. We only ever see five spirits for the animatronics, with them being in the main four and Golden Freddy. Considering that Mike's main focus throughout the movie has been finding out what happened to Garret, it would make some sense that he's in the restaurant somewhere.
  • On the other hand, the Cupcake does attack Mike. Would Garret not recognize his own brother that appears to the other ghosts he works with?

Garret is the BB statue
Explaining said statue's interest in Mike specifically. His Cat Scares were actually trying to tell his brother he was here.
  • Fits with the theory that Golden Freddy's "IT'S ME" messages in the games is the Crying Child trying to communicate with his brother. There's even an "IT'S ME" message in the movie, though it's unclear who wrote it.

Garret became The Puppet.

Mike Schmidt is William Afton's son.
This Mike is the result of a one-night stand between his mother and William. Neither Afton or Mike's father are aware of this.

William Afton is an alias for Stu Macher, and this film is set in the Scream (1996) Universe.
  • The blatant similarities between their characters is too much to ignore, from the psychotic tendencies and acting abilities, to the knife wipe, to the same. Damn. Face. And even if it's not true they could at least be related.
    • William Afton is much older than Stu Macher, who was around 17 in 1996 when the first Scream movie was set. That would make him a little kid during the time that Afton was supposed to be starting his evil schemes. I guess it’s possible Stu is another secret child of Afton’s, though…

Golden Freddy isn't evil, but mind-controlled like the other kids.
While he does speak for the children, it is always carrying out Afton's orders. Vannessa correctly saying that they want to make Abby "one of them" shows this is the intention of Afton, not Golden Freddy. Also note that the drawing that controls the children's minds shows all five kids holding hands with Spring Bonnie, indicating he has all five under his control. While Golden Freddy's eyes are blue when he speaks to Abby, it's possible that while red eyes mean murder, they may not see "making Abby one of them" as quite the same as attacking people due to Afton's manipulations. At the end, he shows that like the others, he's no longer under control. When Afton, his killer is brought down by springlocks, and then Afton has the gall to ask for help from someone he manipulated and tormented,he shuts the door in his face, ensuring Afton is trapped both in the suit and in the room.

Abby's 'friend' that she was talking to near the beginning was Garret.
Somehow, Garret's soul avoided being trapped in an animatronic, and is now just hanging around the Schmidt household.

The Cupcake is possessed by Chica girl's dog
In the games, it was implied that William lured Susie, the girl possessing Chica, by killing her dog and promising to show her the dog again. Since there's only five ghost kids and Garrett was killed far away from any animatronics, making stuffing him in one of them highly impractical (especially considering the size), it would make sense if something similar happened for the Cupcake to be alive as well. The Cupcake's behavior is extremely animalistic, growling and biting people the way an aggressive dog would, and the Cupcake's size mean it's too small for a child corpse, but just the right size for a dog.

Garrett's name is...
...a reference to Garrett Williamson, creator of the "How To Make Five Nights at Freddy's Not Scary" video series.
The fifth missing child is Mr. Cupcake and Garrett is Golden Freddy
Considering that the cupcake in the movie was not only sentient but very capable of doing damage, it leads me to believe that when the five children went missing part of one of them was stuffed into the cupcake which is now very much alive. As for Golden Freddy, he seemed to show up to Abby when Mike very much needed her. This little change has huge implications if applied to the games. Because if so done, it means Mr. Cupcake in the games is also very much alive...

The film is going to age worse as days go on after it's release date
The film had a very negative reception from critics.

    Sequel Theories
Vanessa will become Vanny.
Her being in a coma seems to indicate that she will either Come Back Wrong or be possessed by her father in a sequel.

Markiplier will appear in the sequel.
  • For irony, he will be the victim of the Bite of '87. As one of the most iconic FNAF Youtubers, he could even be the protagonist himself.
    • Wasn't the victim a child?
      • No, it’s more likely the victim was an adult. A similar incident, the bite of 83, did happen to a child though.
      • That was the Bite of '83, which Markiplier (in)famously mistook for the Bite of '87 in his Let's Play of FNAF 4. The '87 victim is the security guard you play as in FNAF 2.

A new protagonist will be used.

More details on the company’s history - including the Bite of 87 - will be explored.

There will be the other security guards for future fnaf movies.
  • I'm saying this because in the FNAF games there's always a new security guard that patrols Fazbear's, so it's very likely that there will be a new guard.

The Puppet will be the major animatronic in the sequel.
The end credits feature both it's music box theme and the robotic voice from it's mini game in FNAF 2. Perhaps Mike and Abby go searching for it once they uncover its connection to the children's fate?

Should a sequel be made, it will be a remix of FNAF 2 and 4, with the main crux of the plot being Vanessa in a coma dream.

William Afton will become Springtrap in the next movie.
By guess is the place will be further abandoned for years, and someone finally finds him in the back only to get killed. This will lead into the movie doing it's own take on FNAF 3.

Emma Tammi will remain as the director for future FNAF movies.
She did a good job, so why not keep her around?

Shadow Freddy will appear in a sequel, possessed by Max
.Supported by an existing cameo in the first film, and various social media posts from Kat Conner Sterling.

Assuming a one to one ratio of ghost to “animatronic”…
…a sequel will explore who Golden Freddy and Cupcake were. Possibly even a dramatic reveal that Balloon Boy was Garrett.
  • We know who Golden Freddy is, his ghost is shown several times as the fifth child and the leader.
    • We know which boy he was, we don't know who he was as a person.

If Abby is in the sequel she will become Puppet.
Just kind of spitballing based on the purple floating drawing she made.

The sequel will have a Sequel Hook where they tease a Security Breach adaptation.
  • Vanessa becomes the rights holder to Freddy and crew, and hating her father and not wanting anything to do with him, sells the rights to a businessman who claims to want to make an 80's themed Freddy Fazbear restaurant.
    • An interesting idea, but would she really do that? Vanessa largely speaks fondly of the restaurant, and of the animatronics.
      • Perhaps Vanessa still having fondness for the restaurant and its animatronics would explain why the original restaurant was left intact as the foundation for the newly created Pizza Plex, and one of her requirements for signing the contract to make a new restaurant was the hiring of Vanessa as head of security. Plus, it could also be chalked up to her being under Afton's influence as well.
    • Alternatively, perhaps someone else acquires the rights to Fazbear Entertainment while she's in a coma and by the time she wakes up she discovers the new owners already remodeled the place and have no idea what horrors they've potentially unleashed. This could prompt her to apply as a security guard so she can try to shut down the place from the inside before anybody else gets killed.

The plot of the sequel will be a combination of 3 and 4's story.
  • That way, we learn the truth about Afton and his family while also providing context for the final showdown between Michael and Springtrap.

The animatronics - besides the unforgiving Golden Freddy - will be shown doing goofy meme-esque stuff after the place becomes abandoned.
Without Afton having direct control over them, they'll finally be able to act like kids.

The second film will actually be a prequel just like the games, with the third film being the real sequel.
It could explore how Freddy’s was like back in the 80’s with all the previous guards, and we could see a William Afton more in his prime which would ultimately lead up to him murdering the original 5 children and the Puppet giving them life.

The C O M E F I N D M E after the credits was a message from Garret.
It's very possible that Afton murdered more children after the main 5 in addition to Garret, and that there's another Freddy's location with more possessed animatronics. The sequel will have Mike searching for that location so he can find Garret's body and put him to rest.

If Mike and Abby's dad isn't dead…
The sequel will reveal that he's the movie version of Henry Emily. He helped create the animatronics and worked with Afton, but they had a falling out. It will turn out that Afton targeted Garret specifically to get revenge (why else would he have risked grabbing a kid in broad daylight?), and Henry figured it out but had no evidence. Henry left his children in a last ditch attempt to try and protect Afton from going after them. Garret will end up becoming the Puppet in this version, we just didn't see him because he's at a different restaurant.

Mr Schmidt is the Henry equivalent and Garret is the Puppet in this continuity, which will be revealed in one of the sequels.
For the former, Mike's parents having another child as a way to cope with the grief of losing Garret works as a mirror to Henry trying to rebuild Charlie as a robot in the books. Along with this Mrs Schmidt dying being the final breaking point for Mr Schmidt, leading him to abandon his son and daughter parallels Henry killing himself in the books after realising that the Charlie he built was just a robot along with his Wife leaving him or simply vanishing until Pizza Sim in the games. The fact that it also involved leaving his other kids, mirrors Henry abandoning Sammy in the books (And possibly in the games if Sammy exists in that continuity).

In terms of the latter, the way that Garret was killed is very similar to Charlotte in the games. He was murdered by William outside the Pizzeria, after he approached him in a car (Even if in Garret's case, he was kidnapped before he was murdered).

The Balloon Boy toy hints at the existence of the Toy animatronics from 2, or at least the existence of multiple pizzerias.

The next movie will be a combination of FNAF 2 and FNAF 3, bringing the Puppet, the Toys, and Jeremy Fitzgerald into play, and having Springtrap as the main antagonist.

The next movie will be a prequel based on FNAF 2, with some of FNAF 4 for good measure.
It'll take place shortly after the murders when Fazbear's is still active, with the Toy Animatronics being used as part of a PR campaign while the main animatronics are in storage (at least that's the official reason; in reality Afton will have them in storage so he can properly dispose of the bodies before people can further investigate why they smell bad). Only like what's implied in the games, parts of the original animatronics will be incorporated in the Toy Animatronics and the dead kids will possess them instead. Because of that they will be a lot more aggressive and willing to take out security guards, given they were recently murdered and their new bodies were taken apart. William Afton will serve as an evil Phone Guy who tries to manipulate Jeremy Fitzgerald into covering his tracks, but instead of destroying them like he hoped Jeremy will try and put the old parts back together. While Afton isn't exposed, he'll be in Karma Houdini Warranty range and people will start to become suspicious.

As for “some of FNAF 4”? Jeremy will be the Big Brother Bully who messes with his little brother, essentially the brother to this continuity's Crying Child except without the whole Nightmare animatronics. Seeing the animatronic's hostility and figuring out what's wrong with them, just not to the extent Mike does, will lead to his Jerkass Realization and he'll vow to become a better brother.

Guesses as to what might happen in the sequel/my personal spec plot.
Just to warn you, this guess is half-joking and half-serious, so don't take it to heart too much.

After a while, William comes back to life as Springtrap. He'll brainwash a couple of engineers who decide to visit the pizzeria to fix it up after the damage into building a lifelike cyborg copy of himself (also known as THE MIIIIMIIIIIIC) and send it to Vanessa. After waking up from her coma, she gets brainwashed by The Mimic into becoming Vanny and taking revenge on Mike and Abby. Meanwhile, both find help from a detective (played by none other than Markiplier himself) to give them more info on the pizzerias. They discover one of William's abandoned ideas, which being Circus Baby's Entertainment and Rental, with its animatronics also being possessed (but not by people, through remnant). During the animatronics' fight with them, Mike will get scooped and Abby will possess Baby, both of them now forced to go into hiding due to becoming freaks. Oh and Mike discovers he's William's son and Abby is not his biological sister.

The movie will be a Stealth Prequel like the original game.
  • The film could feature Mike and Abby after the events of the first film to make it seem like a sequel. However it will cleverly make the scenes of the past and present look like it's from the same time, but in reality are not.
  • One way this can be done is have a plot revolving around the "grand reopening" of the ruined Freddy's. Mike hypes up Abby to visit the place and as they open the doors of the seemingly pristine pizzeria, it will reveal that they are still in the present where they last left it from the battle with Afton.
William knows more about Mike Schmidt then what were we given.
In the movie, he's the only one to call Mike "Michael" and the scene when we are introduced to the killer, Afton stops before saying Schimdt and stares intently at Mike, like he recognizes him.
  • Well, duh, of course he recognizes him, he was the one who murdered his brother after all.

The Living Tombstone's "It's Been So Long" will be used in the sequel.
Maybe not as the credits theme, but maybe on the official soundtrack, as a piece of background music, or the Puppet will hum a snippet of it.

Penn Badgley will cameo.
As a Handsome Lech who harasses Vanessa and gets brutally killed.

The film will not be widely hated by critics, and end up as a Surprisingly Improved Sequel.
The first film has gained overwhelmingly negative reviews from critics. So the film might be better than the first film.

FNAF 2 will be a direct sequel rather than a Stealth Prequel.

The sequel will be scarier.

Since not being scary enough was one of the biggest points of criticism for the first film.

The Withereds' appearances in the FNAF 2 movie will be more in line with the first movie's animatronics rather than having unique designs.
