Vs. Mecha was a Friday Night Funkin' mod created by kkirby999. It was a crossover between Friday Night Funkin' and Super Mario Bros. Z.

Vs. Mecha took place in an alternate universe to Super Mario Bros. Z where Mecha Sonic succeeded in killing Sonic and Shadow before transporting the Chaos Emeralds into the Friday Night Funkin' universe. Mecha goes after them and kills, if not hospitalizes anyone who has gotten to them first. This includes the vanilla game characters, and characters from popular mods. Boyfriend and Girlfriend find the last emerald while traversing through a jungle, and now have to face the war machine...

This mod contains examples of:

• Alas, Poor Villain: Believe it or not, Daddy Dearest and Mommy Mearest.
• Alternate Universe: The events of the mod take place in one where Mecha Sonic managed to kill Sonic and Shadow before setting off for the world where the Chaos Emeralds were sent to. Also, that world is the Friday Night Funkin' world, rather than the Super Mario Bros. world.
• Anyone Can Die: While searching for the Chaos Emeralds, Mecha Sonic kills many beloved characters from popular mods (such as Carol) and even from the vanilla game (like Pico and Girlfriend's parents).
• Everyone Has Standards: As mean as Daddy Dearest and Mommy Mearest are to Boyfriend, even he feels sorry for their deaths at Mecha's hands.
• Fearless Fool: Most people Mecha Sonic comes across are not afraid of him, and instead challenge him to rap battles. The only ones it doesn't bite them in the ass are Boyfriend and Girlfriend.
• Groin Attack: In the Dummied Out Game Over animation, Mecha Sonic punches Boyfriend so hard, Boyfriend is sent flying. Look closely, and you can see that Boyfriend's balls are gone, unlike in the usual game over screen, implying that Mecha not only punched Boyfriend in the dick, he did it so hard he made Boyfriend's balls burst.
• Later-Installment Weirdness: In the cancelled build, Boyfriend can speak fluently. Canonically, he deliberately speaks only in "beeps" because he doesn't like making conversations. Notably is that Boyfriend speaks in "boops" in the alpha build.
• Plot Armor: Despite the fact the mod establishes that Mecha Sonic can kill demons, and, as such, Girlfriend's powers should be useless against him, Mecha still ends up losing. And not just losing the rap battle against Boyfriend; Girlfriend manages to knock out the Chaos Emeralds out of him!
• Shout-Out:
  • Every song is a reference to another one:
    • "Turbo" is a remix of the boss theme, "Fierce Battle" from Metal Slug 5.
    • "Crush" is a remix of "Doomsday Zone from" Sonic the Hedgehog 3&Knuckles, which is commonly associated with the form Mecha is in during that song.
    • "War" is a remix of "Type-03 (Fulgore's Theme)" from Killer Instinct.
  • The Dummied Out Game Over animation has Mecha Sonic punch Boyfriend so hard in the dick Boyfriend's balls burst, just like how Super Android 13 did to Goku.
  • In the curscene before "War", Girlfriend calls Metallix a "Robot Master reject".
• Spared by the Adaptation: In the "novelization" of the mod, which is an All There in the Manual, Pico, Carol and Girfriend's parents survive, even if barely. They do have to be hospitalized because of how much Mecha brutalized them, though.
• Villainous Breakdown: Mecha ends up having two:
  • First, at the end of "Crush", where he cuts to the chase and steals the Chaos Emerald from Girlfriend's hands.
  • Second, throughout "War", Metallix becomes increasingly unhinged.
• The Worf Effect: To prove how dangerous Mecha Sonic is, he kills Daddy Dearest and Mommy Mearest and erases Monika. (Yes, the Doki Doki Takeover! mod is considered canon by the Vs. Mecha mod.)
• You Can't Thwart Stage One: Even if you beat Mecha Sonic in the first two songs, he still gets your Chaos Emerald and goes One-Winged Angel. Thankfully, you can make it so Boyfriend and Girlfriend get away with their lives by winning the next song.
• You Monster!: Boyfriend calls Mecha Sonic a monster after Mecha reveals he killed Girlfriend's parents.
