"Stupidity always accompanies evil. Or evil, stupidity."

This game is the story of an Omnicidal Maniac named Sid, the leader of a Apocalypse Cult who plots to free a series of evil gods known as the idols, who were sealed away in the nether world to save the world from destruction and bring about a world-ending Apocalypse.

Idle Apocalypse contains examples of...

  • Bad Is Good and Good Is Bad:
    • Sid is initially disappointed by the idol Princess Priscilla when he hears her cute laugh and sees her pink room full of cuddly toys, but quickly becomes delighted when she turns out to be the only idol to share his cause in destroying the world.
    • In the "Happy Time" event, Sid gets knocked out and ends up in a Sugar Bowl Mental World with cutesy stuffed animals and emojis. He considers the place a personal hell and all the animals annoying.
  • Brilliant, but Lazy: The Idols themselves could destroy the world, but most of them prefer other things like watching TV or playing video games.
  • Cute Is Evil: The youngest Idol, Princess Priscilla is girly with a cute laugh and pink room... and also the only Idol who's actually keen on destroying the world.
  • Damager, Healer, Tank: The Champions each are one of these. The Paladin is the Tank, the Priest is the Healer, and the Hunter is the Damage.
  • Failure Is the Only Option: Every time that Sid unleashes the idols, the champions restore the earth to normal with one spell, except for all the progress on your tower. The ultimate goal of the game is to develop a weapon that will truly and permanently destroy everything, so that the champions can't restore it.
  • Mook Horror Show: The champions kill all the monsters your tower sends their way non-chalantly, and in a very calm manner.
  • Video Game Cruelty Potential: The juicer allows you to process your own monsters to make juice resources. Then, there's the fact that resources are obtained by sending out your mooks in droves and letting the heroes kill them.
