Friday Night Fever is a Friday Night Funkin' Game Mod made by primarily Helloitsmako and CesarFever. The original mod includes 6 weeks, each involving a Resident of FeverTown, who (along with Tea) are also all OCs by CesarFever's various friends.

Friday Night Fever Frenzy is the newest update to the game, and includes a visual overhaul. This update also includes a seventh and eighth week against Robo Fever, a robot whose sole purpose is to Kill and Replace Fever, and a time travelling soldier from the future who calls herself Scarlet, respectively.

Once an abandoned spot on the map, FeverTown is a hot spot for the worlds rejects, criminals, scumbags and any others shunned from their homes. A demon by the name of Fever has been mayor ever since he crashed into the place, but after (drunkenly) putting down a law saying that anyone who beats him will be able to become mayor, he soon finds himself fighting for his position!

This work contains examples of:

  • Adapted Out: Boyfriend and Girlfriend do not appear in this mod, instead being replaced by Fever and Tea respectively. They are acknowledged in the Frenzy update, when Scarlet mentions that she's looking for a pair that matches Boyfriend and Girlfriend's descriptions. A lookalike of Boyfriend also appears in "Shadow".
  • Aerith and Bob: As a result of the characters being the avatars/OCs of various Youtubers, the names are all over the place based on their usernames. You've got semi-normal names like Fever, Tea, and Scarlet, foreign-ish names like Taki and Mako, and nonsensical names like Peakek.
  • Arson, Murder, and Jaywalking: During Week 7, Robo Fever begins monologuing about how they know everything about Fever, ending their list with "I even know that you're self-conscious about how loud you snore." For some reason, that's the thing Fever is most worried about.
    Fever: "HOW DO YOU KNOW??"
Tea: "EVERYONE on the block knows, Fever."
  • Author Avatar: Almost all characters are self-inserts.
  • Arbitrary Skepticism: At one point the protagonist, Fever, despite being a space-traveling demon, having a rabbit girlfriend, and just facing a shapeshifter last week with Peakek, says there's no such things as monsters. Tea, said rabbit girlfriend, points this out.
  • Bunnies for Cuteness: A lot of the cutest parts of the mod involve bunnies in some way, whether it's how much of an adorably loving girlfriend Tea is to Fever, or the giant bunnies in Week 4 that dance to the beat, with them getting even cuter after Fever adds star-glasses, collars, and demon wings to them while also convincing them to be a bit more goofily smug in their dancing.
  • Decomposite Character: Monster's role as a sudden opponent shift for the last song of Weeks 2 and 5 is split between two characters: in Week 2, Taki appears out of nowhere and attempts to murder Fever and Tea, while in Week 5, Yukichi crashes into the diner Fever and Pepper were battling in front of and attempts to take Fever back to jail.
  • Foreshadowing:
    • In Week 2, we meet the religious nun named Taki, who says we'll meet God. Sure enough, God shows up as the final opponent in Week 6, after being freed from his host.
    • Week 2 has a picture of Taki in the background during Wee and Wolfie's songs, subtly hinting that this is likely her home and that she'll show up later.
  • Interface Screw: Several of the battles mess around with the game interface a bit, mainly by causing the arrow slots to wave and shift about to throw off what keys to press, but some like Taki screw with the health bar as well, such as turning it invisible to prevent you from knowing how low your health is.
  • Interspecies Romance: Fever, a demon, is dating Tea, a bunny/bat hybrid.
  • Just Eat Gilligan:
    • Fever carries a gun around with him at all times, yet never uses it against any of his opponents, even when it would be easier or less risky than singing against them. Discussed during Week 2, where after Taki makes her appearance, Tea asks if Fever still has any ammo in his gun, to which he remarks he used it all chasing off Peakek and neglected to reload it.
    • During Week 7, before the second song, Tea asks Fever why he hasn't turned demon yet, and Fever tells her that he's been trying to for the past few minutes but it isn't working. Robo Fever says that it's because of them that Fever can't turn, but never gives a specific reason as to why. There's no signal jammer or magic EMP; Robo Fever "explanation" is just telling Fever what they were created to do, and doesn't answer any real questions.
  • Jump Scare: Immediately after finishing "Last Meow" in Week 2, both the player and Fever are treated to a sudden and quick close-up of Taki's face while what sounds like TV static blares. Fever is understandably freaked out by the sudden disappearance of Wee and sudden appearance of Taki.
  • Marathon Level:
    • The current version of "Soul" is the longest song of the mod at over five minutes.
    • While not as long, "Funkin' God" is still notable for having Fever and Flippy duet for three minutes straight.
  • My Rules Are Not Your Rules: Held notes give the same amount of health as regular notes: when Taki, Hunni, and Flippy hold notes however, Fever's health will continue to drain.
  • Noodle Incident: Unlike the rest of the opponents, Fever has both met and sang with Pepper Demon previously, and their past encounters are alluded to but not explained in the intro text for "Mild".
  • Nonstandard Character Design: Most of the characters have designs in line with the original Friday Night Funkin' style, but Wee stands out by being almost 3D in model. Mako was also rendered in 3D before the Frenzy update.
  • Ominous Latin Chanting: The instrumental of "Crucify" features bombastically echoing vocals with a Latin-like gibberish feel to them, even including a Cherubic Choir near the end, fittingly enough for a rap battle against a crazy nun.
  • Our Demons Are Different:
    • Fever is a space-faring one, complete with purple skin and horns, though a different shade for the latter.
    • Pepper Demon is a Nonhuman Humanoid Hybrid who, as shown by his name, is somehow half demon and half chili-pepper. He looks like a cuter child version of the main game Monster, but his head is red, he possesses a Celestial Body, and he has a large pepper stem shaped like a mohawk.
  • Screw This, I'm Outta Here: Week 4 has Tea leave before the battle, resulting in Impy replacing her as the "metronome", because seeing Hunni keeping more normal giant bunnies as pets makes her sick about the idea of her "ancestors" being treated like slaves.
  • Shout-Out:
    • There's a small chance that the jumpscare before Bazinga will be replaced by a picture of Cesar with his ass out, which is a reference to the Latin American Dragon Ball meme known as Broly Culo (which translates to Ass Broly).
    • Hallow's voice is made of samples from "Ghost Fight" from Undertale.
    • Around a minute into "Crucify", the music transitions into a riff from "Grass Skirt Chase", a piece of incidental music famously used in SpongeBob SquarePants.
    • “Bad Nun” is an outright remix of “Bad Apple!!”.
    • "Last Meow" (Wee's second song) is a fast-paced remix of "Last Cave".
  • Wretched Hive: FeverTown is the dumping ground for everybody society doesn't want to deal with, so it's full of some of the weirdest and scummiest individuals around, and Fever barely manages to keep a semblance of order in the place, to the point he's The Alcoholic.
