Would you mind filling out a small survey for me..?

"Look at me, a giant monster you must challenge! The fans are going wild! The fame is growing! Don't you see, this is that trend! This is your FAME!"
Sigma, before Soulless

FNF Week Sigma is a Friday Night Funkin' Game Mod by Leroysei and CQ The Kid. The mod focuses on Boyfriend's encounter with a strange and mysterious being named Sigma, who claims to be an "entrepreneur" and seeks to battle the Boyfriend to cash in on a hot new trend. Boyfriend faces the new challenger in a funky... "metal" battle! What is this mysterious opponent's true goal... and what role is the Girlfriend to play in attaining it?

The mod itself was based on an animation made on Newgrounds before being made a mod. Its YouTube link can be found here.

Not to be confused with Week Σ - Vs. Demetrios.

Song List:

  1. Survey (Sigma)
  2. Stonks (Sigma and Girlfriend)
  3. Soulless (Sigma vs. Boyfriend and Girlfriend)
  4. Sentimental (BF Embryo)

VS Sigma contains the following tropes:

  • Added Alliterative Appeal: You face off against a man named Sigma, and his 4 songs are Survey, Stonks, Soulless and Sentimental.
  • Affably Evil: Sigma, surprisingly for a Corrupt Corporate Executive willing to Mind Control girlfriend, as he seems to genuinely enjoy his time with BF, which even Boyfriend himself admits to. Even having a bit of a Heel Realization in the pre-sentimental curscene. Not to mention he's pretty chipper overall throughout the week.
  • Ascended Meme: The second song of the mod is called "Stonks".
  • Badass in a Nice Suit: Sigma is dressed in a very nice suit and possess multiple supernatural powers, such as teleportation, corruption, and shapeshifting.
  • Body Horror: Sigma becomes gradually more mutated as the week goes on, detailed under the Humanoid Abomination entry below.
  • Corrupt Corporate Executive: Sigma is an "entrepreneur" and is willing to do all sorts of unsavory things up to and including Mind Control in pursuit of his goal.
  • Ditto Fighter: In Soulless, Sigma copies the forms of several of the Boyfriend's previous opponents. This serves to illustrate that he is incapable of originality and is only capable of copying what is already successful.
  • Fetus Terrible: The final opponent of the mod is BF himself as an embryo. Probably to further reference The Binding of Isaac, as it has a lot of these.
  • Follow the Leader: Sigma's motivation in a nutshell. He seems to at least somewhat learn the errors of his way after soulless.invoked
  • The Fourth Wall Will Not Protect You: At the end of Stonks, there is a rather disturbing section where The Boyfriend simply stands there, Face Framed in Shadow. Several pop-ups appear all over the screen, before a gray silhouette of The Girlfriend's grinning face with Blank White Eyes stares directly at the player and a creepy laughter echoes in the background. The meaning of this is not entirely clear, but given that one of the things the mod criticizes is the usage of The Girlfriend as fanservice... well, suffice to say that she knows what the internet is doing, and that she doesn't approve.
    • Considering the gray silhouette has similar white eyes of Sigma in soulless, along with the fact that he's been hit by boyfriend's Microphone before that, and that same laughter being heard before Soulless's second half (during Sigma's Shapeshifter Swan Song), along with the half formed character copies in the background resembling said siloette, this could suggest that the girlfriend that appeared in that sequence is a form of Sigma.
  • Giant Space Flea from Nowhere: The final song, Sentimental, replaces Sigma with an embryo with Boyfriend's hair and hat. Said embryo does all the singing as well, with Boyfriend not getting a single turn, and the song, along with the mod itself, ends quite abruptly.
  • Humanoid Abomination: Sigma is a gray, man with no mouth and tendrils acting as his slicked-back hair. He introduces himself by teleporting Boyfriend and Girlfriend to another dimension and has her put in some form of stasis. By "Stonks" he grows a large, monstrous arm. In "Soulless", he grows into a bloated monstrosity with shapeshifting capabilities.
  • Mind Screw: A lot, especially in Stonks. The screen periodically flashes disturbing images or static (usually before Girlfriend's parts of the song), once flipping upside-down for about a second, and there is an extended part where the screen goes black, Sigma disappears, and both Boyfriend and Girlfriend are shown in X-ray as they sing in harmony. To say nothing of that cutscene at the end of the song.
  • Morphic Resonance: Each time Sigma transforms into someone else, he retains his gray flesh, blue eyes, and in the case of Senpai, his red tie.
  • O.O.C. Is Serious Business: Boyfriend is noticeably more aggressive then he usually is with his opponents, not only speaking actual words rather then his usually beeping, but even trying to slam him with his microphone at the end of Stonks. At the end of Soulless, he even drops his mic mid-song and essentially said screw it.
  • One-Winged Angel: Sigma grows into a monstrous version of himself for the third song: He grows so large his body hangs off the stage, His head tendrils go wild, his eyes turn hysterical, he has large veins visible and finally his neck has grown over his tie.
  • Promoted to Playable: For the second half of Soulless, Girlfriend joins Boyfriend in the song, copying the notes alonside him while still being seated on the speakers.
  • Sequel Hook: The mod abruptly ends on a Cliffhanger in the middle of the battle against Embryo Boyfriend.
  • Sex Sells: Sigma is very aware of this fact and thus, after brainwashing The Girlfriend, shamelessly exploits her for sex appeal in any way he possibly can (such as by putting her likeness on a big billboard with a clickbait-style arrow pointing directly to her chest) during Stonks.
  • Slasher Smile: During "Soulless", Sigma's gelatinous face splits into a goopy smile.
  • Shapeshifter Swan Song: Halfway through Soulless, he shifts between Daddy Dearest, Mommy Mearest, Hank, Tankman, Pico, Senpai, and Cassette Girl for his various poses (Specificly DD and Tankman for up, Hank and Senpai for down, Cassete girl for right, Mommy Mearest and Pico for left, and his bodyless head as the idle).
  • Shout-Out: His final phase, particularly the second half detailed under Shapeshifter Swan Song, brings to mind Delerium, both being goey monstrosities that shapeshift into the form of previous enemies.
  • Take That!: The standard "calm-angry-One-Winged Angel" formula for FNF mods, made popular by Vs Whitty, is lampshaded to hell and back as Sigma - portrayed as a soulless corporate drone trying to cash in on a hot trend - invokes it repeatedly to hype up the fans in the background. This makes Vs. Sigma a Take That! not only to the creators of less-than-original FNF mods, but also to the people making such mods popular - likely including the player of the mod.
  • You Can Talk?: Boyfriend elicits this reaction out of sigma in the pre-sentimental cutscene.
  • Voluntary Shapeshifter: In the third song Sigma ejects most of his body mass, which circles the stage in a large twister comprised of half-formed copies of various characters. What is left of him changes shape to mimic another character with each note.
  • X-Ray Vision: Okay, sure, the Game Over screen still has it, but it also happens during a part in "Stonks" when Boyfriend and Girlfriend are singing together.
