- Mistaken Age: Skye gets this all the time. Most people seem to think she's several years older than she really is. The most often cited reason for this is that she acts much more maturely than people generally expect of someone her age.
- Of Corsets Sexy: She loves corsets since they feel great for her back.
- Sesquipedalian Loquaciousness: Accused of this a lot in high school. Not so much in college now that she doesn't feel the need to nettle her peers with her large vocabulary.

- Sailor Moon: Her gateway anime, Sailor Moon is still dear to her heart and has influenced a lot of her ideas for stories and other artworks.

- Pegasus Seiya is her favorite character.
- The Dark Hunters: Her first paranormal romance series and the one that she still reads almost religiously. Another influence on her creative universes.
- Halo is love.
- The Ex-Heroes series: Zombies, superheroes, and a world after the end? Yes please!
- Pacific Rim is dear not only because it is a love letter to thing she loved as a child, but was a comfort to go see in the theater during a very rough time in her life.
