- Meaningful Release Date: The first episode aired on the centennial of Eiji Tsubaraya’s birth.
- Milestone Celebration: Of the 35th anniversary of the Ultra Series. The most obvious case of this being the movie Ultraman Cosmos: The First Contact, which features Alien Baltan, Ultraman's most famous enemy, as the Big Bad.
- Missing Episode: Episodes 50, 52, 54, 56, and 58 were never aired on television, as after Episode 49, the series was put off the airwaves for a few weeks when Taiyo Sugiura (Musashi Haruno's actor) was questioned in an assault and extortion case. The case was dropped for lack of evidence, but the five episodes had to be pulled out to make up for lost airtime. Fortunately, they were included in the DVD release, making it an aversion in the end.
- As for Ultraman Cosmos 2: The Blue Planet, a Re-Cut version of the film is also made during Sugiura's arrest. Unlike the TV series, the film is released in both versions in the DVD release.
- Promoted Fanboy: Young Taiyo Sugiura (Musashi Haruno) had previously wished on a tanzaku card during Tanabata that he wanted to become Ultraman Taro. He gets his wish, but he starred as a completely different Ultraman at that.
- Prop Recycling: Dolba was modified from Galbas, which likely explains why they were chosen to be related monsters.
- Chaos Eligal is a heavily modified version of Gakuzom's Super Mode from Ultraman Gaia: Once Again Gaia.
- The unnamed silhouetted monster from Episode 33's flashback is a reused Algona suit.
- Alukela was modified from Wanzetto, and later transformed into Bugbuzun and Alien Markind.
- Vadata was developed from Chaos Parastan, and later remade into Nosferu in Ultraman Nexus.
- Arados was created from Jelga.
- What Could Have Been: Arados was originally going to be called Paradox and Tablis would have been Doubles, but copyright conflict led to the changes.
- You Sound Familiar:
- Daisuke Gōri voices Alien Baltan Basical in the first film and Sandros in the second film. Is it any wonder that both characters are antagonists?
- Tetsu Inada is also another example. From Alien Nowarl in the original series to The Other Darrin of Cosmos' grunts in the second and third film, later the voice of Ultraman Legend.
