- Backed by the Pentagon: Shot mostly aboard the John C. Stennis, since the Constellation was already decommissioned.
- The Cast Showoff: There are two people with the surname "Panettiere" in the movie, and one of them performs the song over the closing credits. Guess which one.
- Keep Circulating the Tapes: For years the only chance for most interested people to see the movie. Its first American TV screening in years was as part of a marathon consisting of every Disney Channel Original Movie ever made, as a way of commemorating the 100th Disney Channel movie, Adventures in Babysitting (2016). It wasn't until 2019 when it fully averted this trope, as the movie was made available on Disney+ at launch (and in HD to boot).
- Missing Episode: Shown considerably less often than other Disney Channel Original Movies at the time and to this day.
- No Export for You: Unlike just about every other DCOM in recent memory, this has seldom been shown on television outside the US (and, as stated under Missing Episode above, is rarely shown even in the US).
