YMMV / Tiger Cruise

  • Anvilicious: The note the film ends on is on par with "That is why we'll always need an Army, and may God strike me down were it to be otherwise", except that it's played entirely straight.
  • Growing the Beard: Not like the beard kept growing, but it's easily one of the most emotionally heavy Disney Channel movies to date.
  • Harsher in Hindsight: Following NATO's complete withdrawal from Afghanistan in 2021, the Taliban quickly re-assumed power, resulting in the twenty-year occupation being widely deemed a failure and making the film's supportive and flattering portrayal of the United States' post-9/11 political reaction appear short-sighted and overly optimistic.
  • Heartwarming Moments:
    • The flag-unfurling at the end. (Which can come off as rather Narmy too.)
    • "Yeah. I'm a brat."
  • Narm: Whenever the film tries being (overtly) 'patriotic', it ticks off every cliche in the book, including zooming in on saluting hard-faced soldiers against the backdrop of a fluttering American flag, to the sound of a lone bugle.
  • Nightmare Fuel: When 9/11 rolls around, the atmosphere grows extremely tense as expected, but the uncertain and fearful looks on the passengers and the crew makes it rather unnerving to watch.
  • What Do You Mean, It's Not Political?: Duh. After all, it is a children's film about 9/11. Quite a few people have argued that the film promotes a militaristic, Americentrist view on the War On Terror. Other say that it is a mere promotional ad for the US Navy. But it's definitely purest Flame War fuel.
