• Alan Smithee: Jim Kouf was so unhappy with the changes made to his script that asked for his name to be removed. He's credited under Bob Hunt, an alias he used for The Boogens
• Awesome, Dear Boy: Claudia Christian jumped at the film after her agent pitched it to her - "They're recasting the role of the alien-posessed stripper. It's the only female role in the movie. It's light on dialogue, but you get to shoot machine guns".
• Creator's Favorite Episode: Of all his films, director Jack Sholder says this is his favorite.
• Creator Killer: The Hidden II was so bad, Seth Pinsker never worked on a feature length film ever again.
• Stunt Double: For Brenda's dive through the neon sign, Claudia Christian was doubled by a stuntman in a wig.
• Those Two Actors: Kyle MacLachlan and Chris Mulkey would once again play, respectively, an oddball FBI agent and a criminal, a few years later on Twin Peaks.
• Throw It In!:
  • When Brenda says, "I'm not coming out yet", Claudia Christian came up with the idea of sounding like the parasite in her throat was trying to escape.
  • Kyle MacLachlan ad-libbed the line "Your time".
• What Could Have Been:
  • The original ending had the alien, disguised as the senator, getting away and announcing that he's running for president.
  • During the original ending, the alien leaves the senator's body and grows giant-size before being blown up by Gallagher.
  • There was originally a scene where Miller takes the Ferrari and drives to the previous owner's mansion, which leads to him going to the storage room and finding the weapons. Sholder felt this slowed the film down, so it was changed to him just going to the storage room.
  • When Miller turns on the record player, it was originally going to play a Frank Sinatra song, but they couldn't afford the rights, so they went with a generic country song.
  • For the stripper song, they wanted to play a Tina Turner song. Again, they couldn't afford the rights.
  • In the script, Brenda crashes the car into a shoe warehouse. This was changed to a mannequin warehouse to better fit the themes of the story.
  • Michael Biehn, Jeff Bridges, Gary Busey, Richard Dreyfuss, Harrison Ford, Richard Gere, Mel Gibson, Don Johnson, Tommy Lee Jones, Michael Keaton, Christopher Lambert, Stephen Lang, Nick Nolte, Ron Perlman, Dennis Quaid, Burt Reynolds, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Sylvester Stallone and Bruce Willis were considered for Tom Beck.
