- California Doubling: While the series take place in at least six parallel universe versions of Australia, only two were filmed there. Three Alt-Australias were filmed in Poland and one was filmed in China.
- Dawson Casting: Leonard Fung was 15 while playing 10-year-old Sun; Michela Noonan was 19 and Brian Rooney was 21 playing high-schoolers.
- Fake Australian: Paul is played by the Czech Zbych Trofimiuk and Alex is played by the Northern Irish Brian Rooney.
- Genre Launch: Taught the Polish movie industry many important issues about modern children's shows, and opened the way for a lot of new Polish productions.
- Serendipity Writes the Plot: If you pay attention to who is traveling where over the course of the series, you will realize that only Australian actors were flown to other countries, and more importantly that the plot is written so as to reduce the need to fly actors back and forth.
- Throw It In!: The weather during shooting in China was poor, with foggy sky and almost constant raining. The producers decided to use it as form of Empathic Environment — when Sharak takes over the Land of the Dragon Lord, everything is gloomy and dulled.
