  • All-Star Cast: In the original German, the game had some solid voice actors, among them Manfred Lehmann (usual German voice for Bruce Willis) for the Gladiator, Franziska Pigulla (most famous for dubbing Gillian Anderson in The X-Files) for the Vampiress, Martin Keßler (voice actor for Nicolas Cage and Vin Diesel) for the Dark Elf, Wolfgang Hess (a veteran actor who, in a Casting Gag, voiced John Rhys-Davies as Gimli in The Lord of the Rings) for the Dwarf, and Liane Rudolph (another veteran actress) for the Daemon.
  • Casting Gag: In Spain, the game was narrated by the late José "Pepe" Mediavilla, who voiced Ian McKellen as Gandalf in The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit and was the voice actor that usually give voice to Morgan Freeman.
  • What Could Have Been:
    • The game was originally developed by Ikarion as a videogame adaptation of The Dark Eye under the name of Armalion: Realms of Arcania, but the company went bankruptcy before they could finish it. When Ascaron bought out Ikarion, they decided to continue with the project, as the technical aspects were already half made. However, as they did not retain the rights to The Dark Eye, they built a Captain Ersatz story and renamed the project Sacred. You can still note how slightly they changed the names (Arcania = Ancaria) and characters (Borbarad's apprentice and his demons being turned into Shaddar and Llithbah).
    • Unlike the final game, Armalion didn't have playable characters per se, but character classes that could be selected to be either male or female. They were the assassin (whose models remained in the game for bandits and temptresses), the mage (their male model being the final Battle Mage, the female model being the women-wizards in blue hoods you can find through the game), the warrior (male model being the game's facepainted barbarians, female model being the character Lara Aimee), the elf (male being the blue-haired elf character with big shoulder pads, female being the Wood Elf), the sorcerer (Sacred's horned-helmet druids and purpled-haired witches) and the priest (the final's game Sakkara priests).
    • Apparently Armalion contained some features that went unused in Sacred, most notably different attack poses for the Battle Mage, assassin stances, acrobatics, climbs, catwalks and even taunts (which can be seen here). The game would have also featured dwarves as enemies.
