• Dueling Shows: With Couch Potatoes, but this show came first and lasted longer.
• Hey, It's That Sound!: A good number of them were used on some of Nickelodeon's game shows (naturally, since they were also produced by MTV). For example:
  • The "wrong answer" buzzer was used on Double Dare, among others.
  • The siren used when time expired in the Bonus Round was used when the Brain Bender was solved on Think Fast.
  • The Lightning Round sometimes ended with the win sound from Double Dare and Make the Grade.
  • The "Celebrity Square" bit used the "end of game" buzzer from Double Dare to denote a wrong answer.
• Keep Circulating the Tapes: Since it hasn't really been rerun in years, this is the only way to see it- and Viacom keeps taking down YouTube uploads.
• Missing Episode: Parodied when Ken supposedly unearthed an episode from 1975.
• Promoted Fanboy: Ken Ober.
• Prop Recycling: The show used props from earlier seasons as decorations in the Studio Audience during later seasons. Props from Finders Keepers (a Nickelodeon game, and therefore an MTV game) occasionally appeared, but usually as basement clutter.
• What Could Have Been: It was dead heat between Ken Ober and child star Danny Bonaduce for host.
