Trivia about Real Life.

  • …But I Play One on TV: You'd be amazed how common this phenomenon is. Actors are pretty much always called their character names by the media.
  • Development Hell:
    • Human spaceflight, after an initial foray to the Moon, has been stalled in low Earth orbit for 40 seasons, with returning to the Moon and on to Mars delayed at least another 15-20 seasons. So far it seems that the Soviets were book-ending the whole arc when they launched a beeping metal ball since the only perceptible activity in this area for some time has been the launch of slightly more sophisticated beeping objects.
    • The Medicine professions have been engaged in a long struggle to patch out all Disease debuffs, but they weren't able to eliminate them all. Worse yet, rewrites on the Disease code have un-nerfed some of them.
      • In the late 2010s, the AntiVaxx faction sought to further spread the debuffs under the guise that the Medicine guilds were corrupt or the misconception that application causes a vastly altered set of rules in regards to how many of the mental stats factor during interactions and events for that character; then again, there are a lot of misconceptions about said rule-set as well.
  • Follow the Leader: So many copycats, it's hard to find a place to start. Almost every work published since its release counts.
  • Network to the Rescue: Many, many times the show approached an end, but things worked out and it continued.
  • Reclusive Artist: So reclusive that there have been thousands of opinions about the artist: some consider there to only be one artist, some consider there to be multiple artists, and some think it's not a work of art at all - just a natural wonder.
  • Throw It In!: The series is an ambitious project, in that none of the actors are given scripts to memorize, and almost all of the dialogue is ad-libbed.
  • Torch the Franchise and Run: According to manly old scriptures (Babylonian, Greek, Hebrew, etc.), God tried doing this once, and it lasted forty days and forty nights. He eventually changed his mind and Un-Canceled the series.
  • Urban Legend of Zelda:
    • Dungeons & Dragons takes over your life and drives you insane (no more addictive than any other hobby).
    • Related to the above, playing violent video games will cause you to become violent (only if you were already inclined towards violent behavior and even then, no more than any other form of violent media).
    • Yukon Territory of Canada and Siberia are Grim Up North (rather pleasant in spring/summer, and polar bears hang around way farther north).
    • Urban Legends, natch.
  • Vaporware: Fusion reactors, flying cars, nanobots, etc. The slower-than-expected development of some things, though, is counterbalanced by surprise inventions like cheese, nuclear bombs, the internet and lasers. Flying cars have been completed, but they turn out to be nothing more than Awesome, but Impractical gimmicks. They're still being worked on, alongside Orbital Tourism.
