• The Other Darrin: For the English dub, Izumo Kamizuki is voiced by Jamie Simone instead of his usual actor Richard Cansino. This was due to schedule conflicts with Richard focusing on stage work at the time.
  • This was Doug Erholtz's first foray into playing Kankurō after his original actor, Michael Lindsay, retired from the industry due to health issues plus wanting to spend time with his family. Lindsay would tragically pass away from the aforementioned issues in August of 2019, almost a year after Shippūden had wrapped production.
  • Tenten's final line in the movie plus a couple of her battle grunts were doubled by Laura Bailey (already voicing Ni) in place of her usual actress Danielle Judovits.
  • The Fire Daimyō, in addition to being a completely different character here, is voiced by Steve Kramer instead of Grant George who voices him in the series.
    • Kramer also voices Zō, the white-robed ANBU captain, instead of Kirk Thornton or Lex Lang from his previous appearances in the series.
  • Minor variation, but Sajō, the sand ninja who Gaara orders to withdraw at the movie's end, is voiced by San's actor Matthew Mercer here instead of either of his actors from the Kazekage Rescue arc (Kirk Thornton or Liam O'Brien).
