Trivia / Kamen Rider X

Go To

  • Refitted for Sequel: Kamen Rider X was in fact one of several names thrown around for what would become V3.
  • Romance on the Set: Ryo Hayami (Keisuke Jin) began dating Naoko Miyama who had played the dual roles of Ryoko and Kiriko Mizuki, the former being Keisuke's fiance, in the initial stretch of episodes. They ultimately got married and had two children.
  • Role Reprise: Takeshi Sasaki (Hayato Ichimonji / Kamen Rider #2) and Hiroshi Miyauchi (Shiro Kazami / Kamen Rider V3) return as recurring characters in the later episodes.
  • What Could Have Been
    • The prospect of Riderman leading his own show following V3 was considered but dropped in favor of introducing a new Rider. All we have left of that is a Development Gag in OOO's 999th franchise episode special, which counted Riderman as a show complete with a mock title card.
    • Ryo Hayami (Keisuke Jin) previously fell just short of landing the lead part in Tetsujin Tiger Seven, a P Productions tokusatsu hero show which would only conclude its broadcast six weeks after X had premiered, thus making it likely that, had he been successful earlier, another actor would have been cast as the new Kamen Rider.
    • In the wake of Apollo Geist's defeat, it was originally planned to introduce a new G.O.D. executive named Black Mars. However, the unforseen popularity of Apollo Geist changed the course of the series and this character was scrapped in favor of reviving Apollo Geist.
    • Bat Rasputin was a concept for a Villain Monster to feature in the TV series which was changed to Bat Franken, the Monster of the Week in The Movie.
    • Much like what would later benefit Dengeki Sentai Changeman, X was originally slated for only 33 episodes but was afforded an extra two due to delays in the production of Kamen Rider Amazon.
  • Working Title: "Kamen Rider GO #5note , "Kamen Rider U5", "Kaizorg #5 Rider" and "Kamen Rider VV". Other reported proposals include "Kamen Rider MV", "Mask Rider V", "Metal Kamen" and "Metal Rider".
