Trivia / 1408

Go To

  • Billing Displacement: Samuel L. Jackson is in the movie for a total of about fifteen minutes, yet he gets the same billing (and same amount of space on the DVD cover) as John Cusack, who is in virtually every scene.
  • Deleted Scene:
    • Adding to the ending, there were a slew of cut scenes and two other endings (either due to Fridge Logic or breaking the run time of the film) besides the two aforementioned ones included in the DVD:
      • A deleted scene where Olin takes the manuscript from Mike's hands during the fake out the room made, even including the scene from the trailer where Olin goes "I warned you about 1408".
      • A deleted scene where Lily makes it to the front door of 1408 and tries to get into the room, with no avail as Mike begs her to run away.
      • The third ending was like the theatrical cut, but removed Lily hearing the tape response. The fourth ending had Sam (Mike's friend from earlier in the movie and seen in the director's cut ending) and Lily interact and then cutting to him receiving Mike's manuscript of his time in 1408.
  • Focus Group Ending: The original ending of the movie had Mike die in 1408, Test audiences did not approve of this and instead had him survive. The original ending was included in a director's cut.
